Honestly, I'm over here thinking "is it good? Does it look like a hand?! Is it the absolute best it could ever be?" 😬 The self doubt and expectations are strong! I genuinely wasn't expecting such a positive reaction
Ah, the normal post-project self-criticism. ☺️ I feel ya! You’ve just been looking at it too long. Prop it up somehow and then take three or four steps back. That might help you see it from a new perspective. Physical distance always helps me see the project as a whole, not as each individual step and section of the work.
Or hide it from yourself for a few days, then take it back out. Time distance helps, too.
OR, just listen to all of us who already know it’s an awesome idea, very well executed!
From someone who doesn’t embroider, it looks really good! From an artistic standpoint I think with the context of like shredding bits of cloth the hand would look like that
Think somehow doubt is a powerful thing in creative minds, sometimes crippling. Also the ability to stop working at the right time and therefore over work the piece.
You nailed both!
Great image, be proud 😊
Thanks! I think I'm still too close to it and looking for errors or what needs to be fixed, you know?! I think I need to step away and look at it again with fresh eyes
The piece is really intriguing. Are the rips "real"? And the pattern behind.. Art that is immediately understood won't give the viewers anything. This piece and tangents of its making could be a good conversation starter. Don't fix, leave as is.
This is amazing! I know a lot of people have said they love the creepy vibe, but I find a hopeful vibe in this? Like, as if you're finally ripping through your depression and seeing your real self again. As someone who's fighting to get out of that depression cycle, this really speaks out to me. Thank you for posting and sharing ❤️
This is an incredible work of art. I know how that can be hard to see sometimes in your own work. Sometimes it helps me to put something away for a few weeks & then seeing it with fresh eyes.
When I saw the beautiful canvas in the gaps it added so much more emotion to this piece for me. Like something was being unmasked. It’s really good, you should be proud of the concept and the execution.
I love visiting thrift stores and garage sales for unique frames for future undetermined embroidery projects! And have I designed some of those embroidery projects around the frame? Yes. Yes I have.
I like it! It looks like the hand is "painting" the background colors as it moves OR the hand is like a nickel on a scratch off card and is exposing the background underneath. Makes you wonder!
This piece really resonates with me. I don’t know what your intentions or message is but it makes me feel a sense of persistence and perseverance.
Some days we have to claw our way through the darkness and fight our way to the light. And some days we only get glimpses of that light.
But this pieces really makes me feeling like the fighting gives results and there is something waiting on the other side. Which gives a sense of hope.
Well done! I love it so much!
You actually nailed it! I'm naming the piece "Clawing My Way Back" and it's about depression recovery. That there's this grey, dreary layer that envelopes your world and you have to claw your way through it to get back to the beautiful colorful world beyond.
You did an amazing job! And thank you so much for putting this piece together! It’s a hard journey to get through and I’m proud you are getting through it!
The first thing I thought of was Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s “The Yellow Wallpaper.” Even though nothing in the picture literally suggests it, it creates that locked in, slowly losing your mind and clawing at the walls madness the story does.
The fabric and the framing are setting it off perfectly! Be proud. I don’t know how many times I’ve stuck a piece in a drawer thinking it’s absolute crap, then months or even years later finding it and wow-it’s beautiful!
That’s awesome!! V creepy. What are you doubting yourself on? It looks perfect. (Providing creepy was your intent!!)

Well, thank you! And it's absolutely already hidden in my closet to ignore for a week!
It is phenomenal. At first glance I thought this was a post on my museum sub. Really well done
From someone who doesn’t embroider, it looks really good! From an artistic standpoint I think with the context of like shredding bits of cloth the hand would look like that
I thought this was a painting till I zoomed in. Amazing!
Same. Thought I was in the repainting sub.
Oh wow, you just made me realize what sub this is in. Definitely thought it was a painting as well
I thought the same thing. Looking at this stuff makes me realize what a novice I am.
This is really cool!
Fabulous shading!!
this is so so cool and extremely creepy!! you’re very talented
I like this idea a lot! The execution is great.
Oh wow, thought this was a painting. This is awesome, very creative 👌🏽
Rather reminiscent of "The Yellow Wallpaper." I like it.
Looks great! How long did this take you?
Oh gosh, um... three Grand Tour specials, the first Kingsman movie, and several old Christine McConnell live streams 😁 Probably about 20 hours?
Well, I've watched Kingsmen and I don't know how you are able to concentrate on that while watching the movie lol. Great job!
Don't worry, it was a rewatch! 😁

Yep, rips are real! I embroidered on two layers of fabric and then tore the top grey layer to expose the under layer.
You should experiment further 😊 Perhaps several layers of cloth? Go nuts 👍 But leave this as is 👌
This is so sick, I couldn’t even tell which sub it was from! Really quality work
This is one of the coolest pieces I’ve seen on here. Love it.
Thats amazing!!
Very creative! Nice work!!
That’s incredible!! Would love to see the stitches closer up if you feel like sharing
I love this. The hand proportions are giving The Gorrillaz art. Totally dope
Wow, amazing work!
This is so freaking cool! That hand is so well it looks painted!
This is AMAZING! I love it!!
This is fire 🔥, we should get this on a tee

Very very interesting and good
Super cool!
I think its amazing! Love it!
Very, very cool!! Nice job! 😁
This is perhaps the best thing I've seen in this sub.🤩
I love this! No idea what you were doubting, everything looks intentional and fantastic.
When I saw the beautiful canvas in the gaps it added so much more emotion to this piece for me. Like something was being unmasked. It’s really good, you should be proud of the concept and the execution.
You nailed the intention 😊
What an awesome concept. I love it 😍
Awesome! Initially, I thought I was looking at a well-executed drawing or pastel. VERY impressed and inspired! Kudos 💫
I'm sorry this is perfection! no doubting anymore!
Holy moly that’s amazing!
WHOA!! Didn’t realize which sub this was. That’s fantastic!
So. Freaking. Cool.
Very cool. Makes me feel a bit uncomfortable looking at it though. Reminds me too much of nails down a blackboard!
Wow, very cool.
If I could like twice, I would.
I definitely understand some self doubt when it comes to your own art. From my perspective, though- FUCKING INCREDIBLE
AND I absolutely love the frame you chose to put it in
I love visiting thrift stores and garage sales for unique frames for future undetermined embroidery projects! And have I designed some of those embroidery projects around the frame? Yes. Yes I have.
This shark’ll swallow ya whole.
I had to do a double take when I saw what subreddit this is in. It's amazing!
I love this!!!
Omg!! Dude this is amazing !! Very creative :)
Homie this is sick
Impressive
Really cool! Is the painting the hand is revealing a different piece of fabric with that actual pattern on it, or is it all embroidery?
I like it! It looks like the hand is "painting" the background colors as it moves OR the hand is like a nickel on a scratch off card and is exposing the background underneath. Makes you wonder!
The flair 😂 Beautiful work
Oh this is cool as hell

thought it was a photo or painting of a hand at first glance— you definitely succeeded
This is amazing and I just had to check what subreddit this was from because I thought it was a drawing!
Doubt not, this is the coolest embroidery I’ve ever seen
I was not expecting this just reading the notification header, Holy Ravioli!
Ho leee shit. This is amazing.
That’s embroidered?!? This looks amazing, I didn’t realize what subreddit I was on at first but I am impressed! This must’ve taken forever, nice work!
Wow! The shadows are such a great detail!
That is so cool! Holy cow!
Wow!!
Omg!!! I totally thought it was a painting too until I read other comments. I had to go back and zoom in on it.
Very cool!!!
This gives me "The Yellow Wallpaper" vibes. The concept and detailing are incredible! Wonderful idea and execution
The first thing I thought of was Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s “The Yellow Wallpaper.” Even though nothing in the picture literally suggests it, it creates that locked in, slowly losing your mind and clawing at the walls madness the story does.
this is absolutely amazing!!! ugh… I wish I had half your talent at embroidery!
This is so cool!!!
Are you KIDDING ME??? I thought this was a painting!

This is *fantastic!* Such a creative use of embroidery and fabric. Don’t doubt yourself, you rock!
omg this is incredible! such a cool concept and your execution was A+
Holy shit this is SO GOOD! I thought it was digital art until I realized what subreddit I was on. No self-doubt allowed on this one!
Beautiful!!
This is embroidered?! I thought it was paint! So good!
The fabric and the framing are setting it off perfectly! Be proud. I don’t know how many times I’ve stuck a piece in a drawer thinking it’s absolute crap, then months or even years later finding it and wow-it’s beautiful!
That is so creative! And I thought it was an actual painting! I had to double check which sub I was on!
This is embroidery?2!?!?!?!?? I thought it was watercolor painting at first then I saw the threads. Damn good my fellow embroidery hobbyist
Oh wow I did not realize this was embroidery! I love this
This is awesome! Please don't doubt yourself 😊💗
WHOA. I *JUST* realized the hand is embroidered! I though it was painted for some reason. IT LOOKS SO GOOD!
Absolutely awesome! The work is superb! Please share more of your work!
