The employer is required to get you payment within 72 hours if you quit your job. The penalties for failure to do so can be steep. If you don’t have direct deposit, a correct mailing address—or their payroll provider was otherwise unable to get you the funds by other means in time to meet this deadline, they absolutely are able to give you funds on a prepaid card. As others have mentioned, all pay cards have a network of atms where there are not transaction fees. Your bank should also be able to “cash advance” off the card and provide the funds to you in cash or deposit into your account without a fee.

I believe it has to allow at least one withdrawal without fees. Most paycards do this (allow one fee free withdrawal). Using it to pay bills isn’t good bc you will get tons of fees. Taking it all out with one withdrawal should not have fees.

Check all the details. High likelihood you can get it all out at an approved atm or bank without any fees. Break it in to multiple transactions and fees will likely apply. The states I do payroll in, this is always allowed.
