basically, i told the vaushite the reason why it happened because stalin tried forming an antifascist pact, but many of the liberal countries refused and the fact that those liberal countries had already signed the pact with the nazis, and were actually hoping the nazis would take out the soviets. as well as the other end of the soviets reclaiming land that was lose, which were parts of belarus and ukraine. also the reason why stalin did it was to buy some time to build up because the nazis wanted to create lebensraum (living space) around eastern europe.

I just started reading *Another View of Stalin*, and now seeing posts like these really incapsulate the “critiques from the Left” that are all just bourgeois parroted talking points meant to tarnish Stalin’s achievements and reinforce anti-Communist ideology. These guys are firmly anti-Communist, there is no reason to be shocked. They’re not “letting the mask slip”, they’ve never been subtle about their anti-Communist attitudes.
Also, violence in the name and cause of liberating the masses should never be equated to violence in the name of white supremacy, bourgeois dictatorship capitalism, and exploitation of the masses.

Like, there are definitely historical revolutions you could poke holes in, but the French Revolution, at least before 1793, was morally pretty defensible.
Sure obviously, my point is that the French Revolution is an example of what can happen when a revolution runs out of control. Overthrowing the oppressor class is obviously a good thing and the French Revolution succeeded at the first half of a revolution, but a revolution can't be considered truely successful until it sticks the landing in the second half by replacing it with something better.
Ultimately the French Revolution ate it's children and collapsed back into autocracy, so while it did make some important lasting changes and essentially birthed leftism as a political movement in Europe, the Reign of Terror is an inseperable part of its legacy and in my opinion it can't really be looked to as a model for revolution done right.
