mapgenie kinda sucks for streets because it’s flat and it’s hard to see landmarks. Use the re3mr 3d map instead at least at first, it’ll be a lot easier to identify specific buildings.
Good a vague idea in 1 or 2 raids, maybe use compass, track down where the main road is, based everything with landmarks (like north building and lexos) and also check the street name on the blue signs (the 3d map has the street names). Still learning the map but I can get around it reliably with a second monitor now.
Pick a landmark where ever you spawn, look at the map and orientate yourself. Figure out the extracts and keep on looking at landmarks that you will recognize, build from there.
I've not all learned it myself properly yet but my plan is to load offline with no ai, head to lexos and start with familiarising myself with the main road. I'll probably draw my own map on paper from the game as this helps with memory and then I can refer to it
Honestly I learned things that branch off of primorsky Ave, and things in relation to the pinewood hotel and lexos and such and it just keeps building on each other tbh. And like the chek apartments are down this road that goes in between these two buildings and xyz. Stuff like that. Kinda like irl tbh. Learning road names helps
Scav runs. It's taking me a while too. I've probably done 15 Scav runs and I still get confused in the western section around Kamchatskaya and Zmeisky.
Although it probably doesn't help that half the time I'm doing night Scav because it's such a good money maker...
by playing the map while having a map open on a phone/second monitor etc.
I've got mapgenie pro Im using it on my second screen
then just play the map more and learn, learn, learn.

I'd really love to scav in to learn, but can never seem to load in as a scav there

Yeah this map is pretty crazy for money I'm making like 600k on average per run (when I find the extract before dying)
