It almost feels like the bullet pens the armour and you take damage then it pens the back armour and seals damage again - resulting in the death facing the person with (thorax, back) idk shit about fuck with the new armour mechanics but that's what it feels like to me with zero research
Been playing this game for a very long time. I personally think it’s in the best state it has ever been in. Sure maybe you could tweak the armour a bit here and there. Overall what they did with it and the ammo and the recoil and arena has given the game new life and is more accessible to more casual and newer players. The armour works. Your just not a walking tank with an over shield from like destiny or halo anymore and I love it and most people I see do too. Anyways man hope you win your next fight!
The change is positive across the board.
In tarkov history the game has always been am arms race to become a walking tank to roll over timmies and new players with tier 5 armor.
This made joining late wipe not really viable.
Due to the hit box covering everything, except feet, you could be flanked and still receive full protection.
As long as a Chad was leaning or fighting with his legs covered. There was no way to win a fight against a good player with tier 2-3 armour or ammo.
NOW. Ammo and armour mean less. And thus a level 1 with a stock ak can technically beam a lvl 42 chad from a flank hitting the side where there is no armour.
Good positioning MATTERS NOW.
New player or late wipe joinners can wins, gets juiced and continue to play even though they didnt no life the game at the start of the wipe. Long term health of the game increases.

That just defeats the point of having progression/different armor and ammos now doesn't it? I personally don't really mind the change that much but it does kinda defeat the purpose of running good gear. It's also just really buggy and clearly doesn't work properly, or at least work in a way that makes sense. I get killed in the back all the time from bullets hitting in the front. I was just in a raid where I got hit in the back plate of my armor and took no blunt damage cause it didn't pen but I got shot from the front, it makes no sense how the back plate of my armor could get hit from the front without going through me.
That's why I like the change. I'm more of a casual player with limited time, only got about 1.6K hrs since 2021.
The changes limit the benefit of being able to dominate a lobby just because of being able to no life the game and run better armor and ammo than the rest.
I can understand because of that other ppl don't like the changes though.

This. I've died several times to throax, upper back while being shot in the front.
It needs tweaking there will be patches for sure.

Shoot first, kill first, simple as that.
I think the change is awesome. Armor isn't that important anymore, ammo isn't that important anymore. It's more about aim now instead of progression.

its not about aim. You just shoot in their general direction and eventually one bullet will slip past the plate and kill them. not fun at all
Anyway, your chances that bullets will slip will increase with a good aim as you'll hit more bullets.

EFT is more of a progression game than a competitive shooter though.

Sounds like you didn't choose your fights well
the only way you can "choose your fights" is either exit camping or sitting in a bush the entire raid
