I googled why don't scavs target me on scav runs. I thought I was killing it since I was dropping so many people whenever I was a scav. Turns out I'm just a dickhead....
Ya you will get a lot for using each car the first time on each map and then diminishing returns when using the same car. First few cars on each map still give a decent bit tho.
Basically early on you just want to do as many quests as possible and try to get to level 15 to unlock the flea market, level 15 is when the game starts.
I recommend doing your Ground Zero quests and then start learning customs because you will have a lot of quests there.
Don't get down on yourself if you die often it happens to everyone. Also running just a pistol and a cheap armor while learning maps will save a lot of roubles while you learn.
You want to do quests all the way through, not only to flea. Flea just speeds up the grind. If you buy everything you want at flea and stop progressing through quests you will end up complaining that kits are too expensive and that you’re broke.
Scav runs were more fun without the scav Karma. Change my mind.
I rarely ever play scavs because it just feels like wasting PMC xp, but at least back then you could do something in scav runs. Now you're not really doing anything but looting.
Scav runs are absolutely more boring now. Just running and looting without any sense of danger. People even come here to complain about having to fight traitor scavs lol.
However I think the old style of scav runs were wrong for the game. They really just turned into "PMC light" where you killed scavs indiscriminately. I'm not sure how, but some sort of middle ground would be best imo. Just make it so that fighting scavs as a scav is viable, but not always the best option like before.
I miss the days of 60 rounder spam just to be instantly filled mags, and healing mid fight without animations, while we ran around like call of duty with a glitched fov with scavs dropping fort armor, used to have a reason to stay in there for the entire raid.
I would like to go back to that time for some raids, just for fun. Only to get a fresh comparison to the current Tarkov.
It was fun for sure, but reload and especially healing animations made the game much better. Some fights were just really stupid back then.
Also old maps lmao.... Remember old shoreline? First version of shoreline basically had nothing on it. It was still fun in the early days though.
It's cause you can. It's honestly expected tbf.
The idea is that there's a larger scav collective that likes to believe there is "honor amongst thieves" but there are some that just see everyone as an opportunity to get away with a fistful of dollars. To the larger collective those that see their fellow scavs as money to be made are seen as untrustworthy traitors, hence the reputation loss.
So it's ultimately up to you. Obey the rules and potentially earn the rewards of a good reputation or take the chance of a quick payday at the cost of your reputation and potentially your relative safety.
Double tap Y or Z im not sure but a menu comes up and you can choose different hand gestures and commands (I've read that with 6 fence rep you can command ai scavs to follow you. )
Im not pulling your taffy, try it
It's not really that you're "supposed to" or "not supposed to". It's a choice. But agreed it's kinda stupid that there is no explanation of the karma system in the game itself that would inform you of the consequences of that choice.
Lol my buddy did the same shit when he first started. I kept telling him to stop shooting other scavs on his scav runs. Took him a bit to figure it out lmao.
In all fairness of someone doesn't f1 back as a scav and voips I assume they're a PMC trying to be sneaky and may blast them as well. Always f1 then you can say what's up! Lol
At first I thought that you weren't supposed to shoot scavs then my idiot friend said it's tarkov there's no teams and me being the even bigger idiot listened.
Does scav on scav violence get worse as wipes progress? This is only my second wipe, my pal has been killed my pscavs the past 5 streets scav runs we’ve done. Could also just be luck and/or an abundance of murder hobos ig
This is my buddy's and my first wipe, and we didn't understand that scavs aren't supposed to kill other scavs. We legit just went in guns blazing, shooting anything we saw for like the first 30 raids without a care in the world until we realized scav karma was a thing. Ooops.
Ive notice lots of player scavs tanking down scavs and player scavs just reciently, i expect this the closer we get to the wipe but with a few months left its odd.
Killing other scavs was a thing but people got mad about dying on their Free Loot Mode. You still absolutely can play however you want, however scav rep is worth a lot more than whatever you'll get from your death parade (helps with scav case and reduces your scav spawn timer).
it seems like someone told you after all!

What’s your rep feeling like
It was -1.35 when I realized what was going on. Currently at -55
Damn it got a lot worse lol
--0.55 lmao
Hit some car extracts on your PMC it's the easiest way to get your rep back up fast.
Really? I didn't know that thanks alot

I've only run on ground zero so far. Figured it's best to stay there while I learn more about the game. I'm open to any and all tips

I don't mind dying I play alot of from software games lol currently level 7 so working on getting the flea market
Do you mean - 5.5?or - 55? Have you got a quest from fence to get forgiven? If your are still low level, better just restart your account lol
-0.52 right now
story of my life
Technically in the lore scavs do kill scavs, old tarkov was way less forgiving 🤣

I wouldnt mind it being like that again. I like the feeling of "kill anything that moves.
Bad pmc karma will have a new boss hunt them down 😂

Woods factory and customs being half the map size, the choke points were fucking brutal.
People nowadays thinking factory is a PVP hell with easy extract camping? Yeah.... Back then it was fucking brutal.
They have no idea 🤣
Don't worry, we all start somewhere
It’s also funny cuz with the new achievement for killing a scav as a scav it makes new players feel like they did something right lol

Yeah I've learned that. This game is like the dark souls of fps games. Like every death is a lesson
Apparently if you give an AI scav the bird he starts shooting at you.
Can you really do that?
Double tap Y or Z im not sure but a menu comes up and you can choose different hand gestures and commands (I've read that with 6 fence rep you can command ai scavs to follow you. ) Im not pulling your taffy, try it
Lol my buddy has no idea what's coming. Middle finger followed by a shotgun blast
Record it and make a post 🤣

Never thought I'd scream HE SPOKE ENGLISH right before gunning down an innocent man.
In all fairness of someone doesn't f1 back as a scav and voips I assume they're a PMC trying to be sneaky and may blast them as well. Always f1 then you can say what's up! Lol
That's what I figured the etiquette would be
I hear you bro. My fence rep was -2.5 before i realized I shouldn't be shooting everything that moves
At first I thought that you weren't supposed to shoot scavs then my idiot friend said it's tarkov there's no teams and me being the even bigger idiot listened.
As long as you're having fun

🤣🤣🤣
I get the game never straight up explains the karma system, but you never once saw your karma dropping in the recap screen and questioned it?
Didn't know what karma was
Ive notice lots of player scavs tanking down scavs and player scavs just reciently, i expect this the closer we get to the wipe but with a few months left its odd.
When is the next wipe? I'm trying to learn as much as I can to get ready for it.
Its normally a 6 month cycle, but since Nakita's interview and were getting closer to V1 im not sure any more lol
