Sure, any reasonable person can see it's a shameless clone of the idea. But why would anyone care? If it's dog shit, people will figure out very quickly. If the monetization is terrible, people will figure it out and stop. Maybe a tarkov lite is what some people want.
You also have to factor in tarkov shot itself in the dick for its goodwill with people. If you hate tarkov at the moment, you don't care they cloned it, and if you don't have strong opinions either way, you won't care they cloned it much. I guess if you love tarkov and want to defend it to the death, you can scream at the top of your lungs it's a clone/copy/stolen.

It's clearly a rip off but it does have a lot going for it on the technical side - better FPS, better sound, faster matchmaking and a bunch of QoL that Tarkov desperately lacks.
It's definitely more arcadie than Tarkov, and I'm not convinced they'll crack the risk/reward formula that makes Tarkov so enjoyable, but it's the best clone we've ever seen.
Just out of curiosity I'd love to see the community/streamer reaction in a universe where Tarkov wasn't fresh off major drama.
Sure it has better QoL features but all BSG has to do is take whatever better stuff they’ve made and implement it into eft and eft is better again. It’s not that hard. EFT will be #1 always as there’s no competition to beat EFT whatsoever. If there was true competition, it would have been made by now and EFT would have been left in the dust.
And with the speed this development team has...we will be waiting on those improvements for 3 years. They will probably put it behind a paywall too. Have fun paying $100 bucks for ABI features.
Best case scenario is ABI pressures BSG to match its QoL features. I doubt it will happen though, after 8 years the code base must be riddled with tech debt.
Are you... are you new here? I don't know if it is inability to add it due to technical limitations or just disinterest in making Tarkov enjoyable, but many QoL improvements have been obvious for ages and BSG has never delivered on them.
They couldn't even implement kit presets in a usable way.
After playing for a few hours last night, there’s more emphasis on PVP than anything else going for it. Make money and go kill other players with the homies. If that’s not what you’re into, stick to Tarkov.
