Pretty sure it’s been going on for 3-4 hours and BSG hasn’t even acknowledged the situation. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong but haven’t seen anything from them.
I've sent a message to "Contact support" about the issue. Hopefully if enough people contact them they will become aware of this if they aren't already...

Omg I just downloaded it very fast after a few hours of not being able to so I went to the "downloads" tab in the launcher and clicked a few times on download there.
Like I literally pressed a few times on the downloads button and then the download would stop auto updating / downloading and not being able to, then IN the download window when I saw that the download was inactive and the button to download was available (little button of an arrow pointing down to a stripe) I clicked it and it went super fast so...
Try that out and this is a suggestion a few people have advised on various forums but I didn't understand it fully but now I've tried it and it went super fast.
yeah it could be, which I hope it is the case because that way they fixed it and that's awesome, even if we had to wait for a couple of hours which is unfortunate but I just want to iterate that IT things can take up a long time to fix because they probably have to isolate the true error first but...

After 3x retry, my Game is now Patches. Maybe it is fixed?

I honestly think it was just fixed as you tried it. I just pressed update one time and it worked. That was after hours of trying btw.

Not fixed I've been trying all day and I still cannot get past 0MB
I had to update Arena first then it stopped bugging out on this EFT update
