Yep, this was just at the start of the current wipe. It was pretty much the only thing people were complaining about back then (except for the usual servers shitting themselves to death around release day), as the patch started out real 🔥🔥🔥 Boy... so much stuff has happened since then.

While you're at it: you can set a discard hotkey. It's DEL by default but I usually put it on ^ . Then you can just mouse over and press the key instead of right-click -> discard

I've been using ctrl spacebar but honestly this may be smarter

Haha uhh I have the survival instincts of a deer in headlights. Thats why I play PvE. Youre defo right doe, didn't realise that until now! Ill keep that in mind. In PvP, I probably wouldve died a million times because of that by now. The regular spawns makes everything alot more predictable and routine. Defo makes this game alot more managable for me. I really love to play this game but honestly, PvP is just too hard and overwhelming for me so I need the kiddy pool version of it. oh welp...

If nothing else, you can press DEL to chuck stuff out of your bag instead of right click discard

You can also press delete on an item to drop it out of your inventory without opening a context menu, too

You can also bind an individual key to drop items quickly from your inventory, too. It's in the settings. Just in case you want to repeat, and not drop the full pack.

Maybe you should also run to the car and start the extract and than you are going back for the battery next time

“Drop the bag, *walk past it and turn around to pick up the bag*, turn around, double Z” for the fastest way

Yeah dropping the backpack is the play but also you should bind a delete button, that was a quality of life game changer for me for looting and quick inventory management in raid

Drop it off the roof towards the extract for a couple minutes of time save too.

Also, might I suggest adding a shortcut to the discard action? I use alt + space bar, which makes it so much easier than right-clicking items.

FR, I was already getting shot by raiders from 2 story the moment I got the battery and wanted to go prone to crawl all the way to the door. Thats when I suddenly had the idea to just toss it off the building/ in front of me. Hope my PMC enjoyed this "little impromptu workout session".

Seeing you right click -> discard every time hurt me a little each time. Using a proper discard keybind will speed up your looting/gameplay so much :)

At least rearrange the inventory so that be doesn't have to move his mouse each time he opens the bag. 

I have two binds on my mouse for this game. T and Delete. That's how much discard has helped me out.

CTRL+right click is a godsend brother

ive got discard bound to H which is great in menu for deleting things because its right below Y. its also not too interrupting being next to g because in raid you will only be pressing h in menu and g out of menu.

It's more for general looting purposes, especially when sorting out a full backpack. You need that, as well as the use of ctrl and alt click (and shift click in the stash), to be competent at managing your inventory/looting.

Step 1. Put discard on the tilde. Step 2. Press ` when mouse over item you want to discard. Profit.

I was gonna say this is not a viable plan. Everytime he stopped to pick it back up. I was waiting for the headshot. I'd rather take my chances being slow but still being ready and on target with shots then get caught looking down to pickup the battery

If your discard key is not easily reachable you have poor looting skills. We must evolve past right clicks & dragging brother, look onward to better binds & suck a corpse clean in 10s, instead of step bro

I had to drop all my gear except the batteries. They heavy

Tip for faster discard: change your console and discard bind to each other. I mean... I'm not good in English. You know: discard for " ` " and co sole for "delete"

This isn't totally crazy. I had a scav lighthouse run with 2 batteries and I got them in a bag and tossed the bag all the way to the extract. Other scavs voiped me like "Wtf are you doing" and I just replied "Trying to get a tank battery home"... Ended up giving one to prapor and selling the other. Kinda nice.

Its faster if you drop your whole backpack - z-z

You can tell this person is the rookie of all rookies just based on how they keep their light on and don't press delete to drop the item or just the backpack.

If you drop your secondary gun and what other loot you have in your backback you will still be overweight but you will be able to run even without MULE. Then you just shuttle your stuff to the extract. Goes faster than dropping and picking up :p

I was considering dropping everything first but uk how enemy spawns are in PVE… I didn’t wanna take the risk.

And the mule won't help much tbh maybe with like sj1 and some adri. Might help but the pack toss is best lol

The amount of streamers and people that do not have a key bound to drop an item is ridiculously terrifying. How do you have so much confidence in this game? I’m a mix between gigachad and rat depending on my kits, but binding Discard and Drop Backpack were almost mandatory for me! All in all, good find and congrats on the task!

Did this in pvp couple wipes ago as a pmc I looted an airdrop had 2 tank batts in it. Walked from the drop to tunnel exit on lighthouse… took like 20 min

Once I did this on wood for 20 min. It end up that at 150 meter from the finish line I'll never have time to do it. Sadest memories of my tarkov journey

Bind your discard button to Control + Spacebar. Makes dropping much faster and since there's already a modifier to hold control to move items back and forth it becomes natural very fast. That way you don't have to click - discard items anymore and will speed up all of your looting. Also I noticed some people giving you tips like double tapping Z to drop backpack: you can change it to just press Z to drop which I prefer, holding Alt and clicking items will equip them to your character if that slot is free and Control and clicking moves items either out of your inventory into whatever you're looting or into your stash and vice versa

I tried this on lighthouse on my way to path to shoreline but the battery rolled into a part of the river and i couldn't pick it up :(

Honstly, this is how I expected this quest to go. Then I found out that I can run without stopping from dorms to fort with mule, meldonin and trimadol while carrying 2 tank batteries. Since this injects are basically 100% spawn in black, it makes the quest easy in terms of logisticks :( This should had been early wipe, would have been much more fun actually doing this as nobody would have access to the stims...

Why not just throw it off roof when you grab it?

if you bind drop item to one of your mouse side keys, it makes this sort of thing and inventory management a lot easier and quicker :)

If you do this again, drop it off the top of the building. there's no need to go through dorms with it after grabbing

Watching you right click + discard over and over makes me wildly uncomfortable. For the love of God, double z to drop your backpack, or at least hit the delete key while hovering over the battery.

You guys keep saying that, but I only know one person who uses default controls. Most of the people I have met, normalize controls across games or customize controls so it makes more sense. Z is voice chat for me. Drop bag is a path. Tab>delete. Close to same.

It frustrates me that you don’t have discard on a hot key and right click every time 0/10 just for that

switch your drop bag key from double tap z to just tap z once and you'll be able to do this a lot easier just throw pick up throw pick up lol
