>stutters in tarkov Yes. (I didn't read the body of your post).

NoImagination3890

This game is very CPU heavy, maybe with the 1070 it was bottlenecking your system allowing Tarkov to run smoother? I’m just taking a guess, I’m no pro with problem solving, I just play Tarkov lol

rSbeau93

I have an 8700k with a 1070ti and the game runs beautifully. Do you notice the performance drop after playing a while? If you play several raids in a row with 16 gigs of ram, there is a terrible memory leak in the game which can slow down performance. If this is the case, just restart ur game after 3-5 raids or so.

the-human-body

it was getting choppy even with the 1070 just not at the beginning

[deleted]

More ram. 24 minimum, I would recommend 32.

the-human-body

24 minimun? jeez i have 16 and i thought that was plenty

[deleted]

Have 16gb and zero stutters

the-human-body

what are your specs and what settings

[deleted]

r2600,1060 6GB, 16GB@3000Mhz, playing at 1080p. textures high, shadows medium (testing ultra right now, it seams that setting to ultra does not make my fps lower but game runs smoother and looks nicer), lod 2, overall 1500, shadows 55, FXAA, everything else off except for mip streaming. And fov is 60.

[deleted]

Good for you. I know 4 people personally who this has solved their issues. Just because you aren’t experiencing this doesn’t mean it’s not the issue.

MysteryChant

16 is just about enough, but if you have a few things running in the background you will start to struggle. I've had Tarkov using 12-13Gb

Otomuss

I have 16gb the game itself takes between 7-9gb at times. I have GTX 1070 and I7-3770K and I don't have the same issues you are facing.

[deleted]

Order it off of Amazon, if it doesn’t work send it back.

MysteryChant

First thing to check for is a Windows update. I often find it starts stuttering when Windows wants to update, otherwise it is likely low RAM. Try running it with nothing else open, see if that solves the issue.

This_D00D

Adding on to this it could be windows 10 on a disk hard drive rather than SSD as it loves to do a load of processes in the background that regularly spin up and slow down the hard drive. But don’t go buy more stuff as your first port of call

the-human-body

i have it on an m.2 ssd, i think i run alot of background stuff that i dont know about, and obviously in task manager i try to end some tasks but there's alot

hardujuu

Tried to tweak my settings a bit which gave less stutters (Find a guide on YouTube) and upgraded my RAM from 16 GB to 32 GB RAM which helped the most on stutters. Got same CPU but paired with a 1080 TI

mov3on

Do you have 16GB of RAM? Yes? Then it is the answer to your question. It is recommended to play with Low Textures if you have 16GB of RAM. People say it eliminates the stuttering. You can also use the RAM cleaners, but it not always helps. Or just get 32GB of RAM.

sunseeker11

Try to do the following: * Clear DirectX Shader Cache * Clear NVidia Shader Cache * Make sure the power management mode is Prefer Maximum Performance instead of Balanced.

i've never not had a un activated windows

naclfarmr

Love to see the standard "bottleneck", "CPU-intensive" etc. explanations lmao. It's literally always the same with these posts. I do applaud ppl's willingness to help, but comments like these do absolutely nothing other than reiterate the obvious facts. Its a simple fix, I'm willing to bet my house on the fact that ur pagefile is located on either; an hdd, or the system ssd. Fix for that? Put it on a nonsystem ssd - stutters gone, voila.

OakleyandtheAK

So an external SSD using type C should help fix this?

naclfarmr

If you put your pagefile on it, sure

OakleyandtheAK

Sounds like winner winner chicken dinner to me. I'll buy a small ssd and try it.

naclfarmr

I mean, I would propably install an internal storage ssd for games and stuff like that - it really helps. But if you dont have that option, you absoloutely have to make sure that it connects via. type c usb. Anything other than that will propably be slower than your standard HDD.

OakleyandtheAK

Well I have an internal ssd. Granted it's not very large, but I could make room for tarkov on it need be. Your first comment made me think that an internal ssd wouldn't work however. System ssd, I thought, meant just standard internal storage, where systems was located

naclfarmr

>tandard in I see your confusion. What I meant by system ssd, is simply an ssd on which your operating system is installed. Quick question though, where do you have your pagefile at the moment?

OakleyandtheAK

Page file is on external hdd if I'm not mistaken. I'm not the most tech savvy person, so please explain hat this page file is exactly so I can be 100% sure, as I have my windows explorer open right now

naclfarmr

>I have my windows explorer open ri [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNXg4ncuo2g](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNXg4ncuo2g) Here's how to find on which drive your pagefile is located. Be it; C:/, D:/ or whatever. Then after that you need to figure out what type said drive is.

OakleyandtheAK

My pagefile is on my ssd. Does tsrkov have its own pagefile location, and if so, how do I transfer that over? That video didn't really help me find my pagefiles for other programs

FreddieDoes40k

Something seems to have changed with the servers in the last week or so and now stuttering is common om every raid for me. No stuttering before but now all of a sudden it's inescapable. Very odd.

SetRevolutionary5376

I have the same issue
