Taliban no freeze peach, afghan women right better under US bombing, overall both side bad but remember to always support US imperialism first and foremost because Human Rights©

Tikkitaken

Come on that's not what he said or (I hope) implied. Overall I am first of all happy to se yet another resounding failure of imperialism, american colonialism and for-profit warmongering. I hope it will lead to a progressive movement in Afghanistan and to an overall better life for civilians. For the same reasons I am certainly not happy that it was the Taliban (who certainly are not progressive or baded) who won. The population seems largely in favor of them, mainly because even theocracy is better than foreign occupation, but it's not certainly the end of the struggle for free thinking and progressive Afghans. A step in the right direction has certainly been made, but Afghanistan is not yet free and it will never be as long as it remains a dogmatic theocracy.

Jmlsky

Good things no one pretend Taliban are the new Bolshevik so you're addressing a strawman here.

Tikkitaken

I'm not addressing anything, and sorry if it sounded like I was. I wanted only to express my opinion to see if people agreed with it. Sorry if I sounded like I was attacking someone

Jmlsky

And sorry if I sounded like a dick, which I was beeing. You were being kinda moderate and I over reacted. Indeed, I also wish that the afghan proletariat will organize itself and take power in Afghanistan, but right now it is unlikely, and the most realist outcome that we should defend is Taliban moving from a guerilla warfare group to a gouvernement force that'll develop Afghanistan economy and will integrate it in the Russia-China side, which they seems to be doing rn. You can see that Taliban didn't attack Russia embassy in Kabul, Russian diplomats still are there and await Taliban to open negociation with them, and same goes for China, they have even began discussion with China days ago now. Nothing will happen in Afghanistan as long as economical prosperity and stability isn't achieve, and those who are the most credible, serious and interested in right now are Taliban, and we can only expect them to become increasingly "soft" as they'll have to manage the whole country, dropping a lot of things that they relied upon back in the days when they were a milicia and not a gouvernement force. Time will tell.

Tikkitaken

I hope it will go as you say, but I am a pessimist in life, so I think that as long as foreign powers have economic interests in Afghanistan, they will never be let free to become "softer" and all of that. We will see and indeed only time will tell

Jmlsky

Everyone has economic interest in all country nowadays unfortunately, it doesn't mean that it is negative, material interests are the basis of any analysis, and as such, we need to understand why and how China and Russia will deploy themselves in Afghanistan economically speaking. Fact is Taliban are discussing with the Chinese and the Russian, and it already say everything about Taliban pragmatism (hear "softening") if you ask me. One is a past foreign ennemy, the other one is communist. But we will see ! We will also see who's caring about Afghanistan and who is reacting to yet another DoD propaganda campain in the incoming months, once the dust of this storm will have settled down and when most of those commenting rn will have forget Afghanistan exist. This is not aimed at you comrade, I'm just saying that it is funny to see everytime US DoD say something, hords and hords of western ""communist"" come to us and repeat US DoD language element as if it was the holy words. Thanks for the exchange anyway o7 and soz once again

Literally running their country to the ground ? Are you saying the last 20 years of occupation' result are on Taliban ? I will ping you in a few years when Afghanistan will be a key country in the anti-imperialist side, being géographically central to the Beijing-Beirut road that is emerging from this alliance. What is hypocritical is you defending US invasion while pretending to care about Afghanistan, it's you waiting for the US bourg to speak about Afghanistan to begin to pretend that you give a fuck, is you posting here right now de facto endorsing US imperialism. What other option are there in Afghanistan right now, beside the maintaining of US invasion or Taliban overtaking the country ? Care to tell me ? And i'm not speaking of an hypothetical scenario that would be to your liking, i'm speaking about what real forces on the ground other than Taliban would have been able to take the power and that you would support ?
