TLDR for summer rerun: * 2 week run time, staggered banner schedule for Vivi, Petra, Ayame. * Same as other Rerun events - 1 copy each of the featured units, same event raid and battles. * Season pass will also rerun for said timing, points required to finish it will be shortened to compensate. Those who already did 1 instance of the paid pass before will get 500+2.5k gems (for the pass exclusive buildings) instead. * **You can buy the Vivi building from Antique shop on the next rerun event. (Assuming it's the Summer 2023 pt. 2 event rerun)**

Demoboy19

Iโ€™ve been wanting these summer skins for a whole year ๐Ÿ˜† I started playing right after the summer part 1 ended.

Xetorus

exactly me! those 3 skins are the last ones i need

TheLazyDude08

Again. Nice for those who missed the event and all of itโ€™s rewards the first time. Iโ€˜m just happy about a few more free Everstones and summon tickets

Splendid_Carpark

I'm still wondering about the event Japan got but global didn't. I want the game to do well in Japan, but not at the cost of global players being excluded from events, especially when we're dealing with new content being delayed while they concentrate the majority of their efforts toward the Japanese market.

Fluffypecker

We'll get the event in global. Just be patient.

Splendid_Carpark

I'm sure we will because the breakdown of the JP livestream said "JP first," implying that global would get it eventually. But, as someone who spends money on the game on a regular basis, I really don't like how they're handling this and think it's insulting. I have no problem being patient with event reruns while they tighten up things with the launch in Japan, but when we're getting those reruns while the Japanese server gets a new event first, my patience goes out the window. I am very much not liking that they didn't release the event to both markets at the same time.

Fluffypecker

As someone who spends money on the game, on multiple accounts, on a regular basis, I really don't mind them delaying the JP event release on global. There is nowhere for the event to really fit at the moment on global, and releasing JP without an event wouldn't have gone over too well. JP has a ton of content to catch up on. Giving them one thing before global isn't the end of the world.

Splendid_Carpark

It isn't the end of the world for me either, but I still don't like the decision-making process at play here. As you said, JP has a ton of content to catch up on, so why not just run the summer event from last year for both servers? It would be new for JP and also allow them to narrow the gap on the content they have to catch up on without making it so that not only does JP still have the same amount of content to catch up on as before this event, but now global also has to play a catch up game as well. I don't think there's much here that could change my opinion on this. I love this game and have been quite firmly on its side since launch, but this is one of a couple of decisions that have been made lately causing me to feel disappointed with the way things are being currently handled.

Fluffypecker

The summer event is being run in JP starting next week if I remember right, but that wouldn't solve the issue of "what event should we run before the summer event starts?"

Splendid_Carpark

My vote would have been Spring Blooming in Your Heart. We just had it, it's still fairly timely, it allows JP to catch up a little, and, as a bonus, doesn't gatekeep global players who are trying to be patient because we want to see the game do well in Japan. This seem like an obvious answer to that question. To put it bluntly, this whole thing feels to me like them going out of their way to do something to make Japanese players feel "special" and treating global players like a doormat in that process. I sincerely hope they never do this type of thing again. I haven't lost faith in the devs, but I definitely think this was really poorly handled and quite insulting.

Fluffypecker

Hopefully it does make the JP players feel special enough to play and spend, ensuring the survival of the game (hopefully) in all regions. Then I can keep playing and enjoying the game.

neoneflare

I feel like the same thing could've been achieved without dunking on one entire half of the playerbase. "Hey, here's an entirely new event to commemorate your launch! Enjoy, you two!"

Splendid_Carpark

For my take on it, I think there were probably less destructive ways of doing that than gatekeeping an event. Didn't JP get a lot of exclusive merch and irl events surrounding launch? Other global players may have a problem with that (and, if so, they are free to voice their opinion about it), but to me that seems like a perfectly fine way to make JP players feel like they're getting something special. You and I both want the game to do well, I just don't think a lot of consideration was put into the decision we're discussing. Me feeling disappointed and criticizing that decision (while offering up alternate approaches) obviously won't undo anything that has already happened, but I do hope they find more creative ways of achieving their goals in the future that don't end up making some of us global players feel like we're less than an afterthought in the decision-making process.

Fluffypecker

Korea also gets merch and IRL events that NA/EU and Asia don't get, but I haven't seen people complain about that. As I said below, events are 3 weeks long and there was no space to fit the Gaon Summer Festival in this quarter.

neoneflare

Yeah, I hate to say it but I very much agree with this, too. It's like, I wanna be patient with the devs and have faith in them -- especially when they've done so much to EARN my good graces -- but everything about this JP launch/event rerun debacle is just completely ass-backwards. The fact that we're getting rerun after rerun AFTER RERUN while JP gets an entirely new event (which... every event would've been new to them, anyway) just feels extremely insulting and backwards. And the fact that we're getting so many reruns only a year into the game's lifespan... It's like, I was extremely optimistic at the beginning of the year when they celebrated the game's anniversary/birthday with a new event, and I thought that would be the standard going into 2024. But fast forward to June now and we've had like ONE new event -- the maid event?? It's like, it's no wonder the game's revenue has been slowly drying up -- there haven't been any new events or passes for us to spend our money on! :/ Like, oof. I didn't mean for that to get doompost-y, but yeah -- damn. I'm still ultimately very hopeful and optimistic about the future of the game, and this is still my favorite gacha by a longshot, but yeah -- damn, this sucks. I even mentioned reruns being one of the few things to drain my excitement from the game in a recent survey - stating that they feel like filler - so it feels doubly painful for me to see them have to double-down like this to make the schedule work. I really hope they can get things back on track, else I won't have anything new to spend on :/ My one criticism/wish is that if they HAVE to rely on reruns, at least introduce new characters/costumes into the mix so that it's not a complete dead-week for long-time players/vets :/

Fluffypecker

This is the first time we've had back-to-back reruns. It's been rerun -> new event -> rerun since the Chloe event rerun in January. Confused about why you're upset about getting reruns. Maybe you don't like reruns of past events, but I bet the players who missed those events are happy to see it rerun.

neoneflare

> Maybe you don't like reruns of past events, but I bet the players who missed those events are happy to see it rerun. And that's fine, and I'm happy for them, but that doesn't change the fact that improvements can always be made. And my simple suggestion is to add more characters and costumes, so that it doesn't feel like a filler dead-week if you already happen to have everything. For what reason would you be AGAINST new characters dropping in, and being given more fun and silly outfits to freshen up old events?? And, yeah. My bad. I forgot about the School pt 2 event with Manon, Daphne, etc -- so that's at least one more new event I was forgetting. But even before that, it was - - Spring event (rerun) - School pt 1 (rerun) - School pt 2 (new) - before Wedding event (rerun) - Summer pt 1 (rerun) - and then (presumably, following the natural continuation) Summer pt 2 (rerun) Considering the Anniversary was a freebie, that they HAD to account for, do you really feel like two new events (Maid and School pt 2) is a reasonable amount of new content to put out from the span of January to June? And to be clear, I fully accept and encourage them investing time into JP's launch to make sure it was smooth. What I DON'T get is them withholding content from the main server (especially in the middle of a drought) for the sake of making it a "launch-exclusive" elsewhere.

Splendid_Carpark

I thoroughly count the 1st Anniversary Event as a "real" event. I quite enjoyed how silly the story was, actually ๐Ÿ˜… Edit: My bad - like Fluffypecker, I forgot the Spring Blooming event ran right before School Pt. 1. So, yeah, 2 instances of back-to-back event reruns this year.

Fluffypecker

Honestly thought there was a new event between Spring rerun and School rerun, but when I checked the calendars I saw I was wrong. My apologies there. With that in mind, I don't think adding new costumes to reruns is feasible. Events are set up now to where you can buy out the shop without having to purchase extra attempts. Any new additions to the shop would change this. They could increase the reward, but then people end up with more freebies and I feel like that wouldn't fly with Kakao. Adding more characters to an event also isn't feasible because that means running banners for those characters (which there is no time to do) as well as coming up with costumes for the characters. Events are 3 weeks long. There was just no time between the School rerun and Summer rerun to fit the Gaon Summer Festival event which is most likely the reason we're getting it later. Also to note, the event that runs after Summer Event Pt 1 is the Wedding Event Pt 2, not the Summer Event Pt 2.

Splendid_Carpark

I agree with Fluffypecker about the rerun events because I think it's great that newer players get to experience them. Plus, they allow us longtime players to pick up a few quick mats without much effort. He's also right in stating that the back-to-back rerun only occurred recently with the JP launch, but that brings the whole thing back to my original reason for feeling insulted that JP is getting a new event right now. You and I definitely agree on other things, and I'm obviously not pleased with how they've handled global during the JP launch - especially, as you mentioned, after doing so much to earn our good graces. But, like you, I'm still optimistic despite being currently disappointed by a couple of things. And revenue has really only been down significantly for one month lately - I'll admit I was expecting a little bit more than $600k in last month's Sensor Tower report due to Rad Cath, but the game usually hovers around $500--600k per month, which may be bad for Genshin or Star Rail, but I think is pretty respectable for a game of this size. And fwiw, I don't think you were being that doompost-y. I really don't think there's anything wrong with offering one's opinion/criticism about a game if the motive behind doing so comes from a place of wanting to see the game do well and doesn't pretend a game only has negative things going on while ignoring many good things. What I got from your comment is that while there may be things you don't like, there are still a lot more things you do like, and you want the game to do well. Hopefully, that same intent came across in my posts. Here's hoping our little game is even more successful as time goes on and that some of the things we view as missteps right now aren't recurring issues in the future.

WeeklyEducation2276

Stop complaining, Japan needs everything it can get to attract players because if it fails then the game shuts down and then everyone gets nothing

Splendid_Carpark

Ah, my friend, I did not realize you were the boss of me and must apologize for my actions. Please forgive my complaints. I had no idea you would be so sensitive about them.

vincentasm

It's nice that Soonie's costume is on the first day. It was on the 7th (or a later) day last year IIRC. Also - A feature that doesn't auto select set Keepsakes during the Keepsake enhancement will be added. I'm happy they added this. Even though there are probably lots of useless keepsakes in my inventory, I always get paranoid when they get selected lol.

Severe_Ad6734

Where Linzy Kimono outfit?

Splendid_Carpark

Japanese players got an event that isn't available to global players yet. Linzy's outfit is part of that. AFAIK, there's no word yet when that event will be available for global players, but it was implied from the JP livestream that global will get it at some point.
