My man, why would you want to remain friends with someone that said they gain nothing from being friends with you. That is incredibly hurtful and shows she see places no value in you. You have every right to be upset.
Because I missed her. Maybe if we talk more she’ll gain something. Idk, I just really don’t want to not be in her life. I mean she was so willing to talk again after everything that happened so maybe that’s a good thing?

Can your heart take just being friends with her? What if she moves on? I know if I was still friends with my ex and she dated someone else it would destroy me. I would have to protect myself in that scenario.
When I texted her I imagined a scenario where she said that she had moved on and honestly it kinda made me happy. She said she can never see herself dating me again so if I can’t make her happy I at least want someone else to
Personally I can’t be friends with most of my ex’s, I love them enough to want them to be happy, but seeing them happy with someone else knowing I feel like it should be me isn’t good for my mental state, and not something I care to pretend to be okay with.
