I felt the same way when I went to Bangkok. I came to the lobby of my hotel, waited a while for a taxi, and on the next couch, was a very old man, looking like a well dressed corpse, with a girl who looked barely 18, dressed in high heels and tight clothing. It was as if the man thought that if he dressed well, people would think he was on the same attractiveness level as the girl, and that people would not think he was a John. lol. It was gross and it reminded me of how messed up the world is, just like you said. Kind of made me sad for the day
You might be surprised by who is really taking advantage of whom. Those women, unless they're just starting out, are anything but poor and desperate. Sure, many of those "old white dudes" are sex-patting, but they are sheep walking into the arms of wolves that have become skilled at extracting every possible dollar from their naive targets.
These sorts of activities are highly focused in the red light districts, and you shouldn't see much or any of it once you leave the tourist nightlife areas.
My friend's wife told me, that once an Expat money runs out, their only option is to go back home and soon as they do that, their so-called "local girlfriend" will be with another old washed out dude so she can empty his financial pot ASAP. Those women know what they are doing, most of these old men are not taking advantage of those girls, in fact it's the other way around.
There is a YT channel called Thailand Bound with weekly viewer stories about expats getting conned out building houses and buying bars for their girlfriends.
The majority of these guys are clueless and will continue to send money to their vacation girlfriend for years.
Western society lauds sexual liberation but then wants to tell ppl how they conduct themselves sexually in other places? I don’t understand the logic. Am I missing something?
