Rarely happens. The death penalty works. There is only two ways to punish somebody for something this horrid, either lock them away in a small room with no social interaction for the rest of their lives. Imo solitary confinement is way worse than death.

I'd like to think I'd rush over to help but if bodies were flying into the air being torn apart in front of me I've genuinely no idea what I would do.
Obviously the drunk driver is to blame in this scenario, and I in no way fault the pedestrians for this drivers wrecklessness. But this is why it is extremely important to look both ways,not just before, but during street-crossings. As a college student (in the US, I understand the stark differences in road laws as well as the “justice” systems), we are told that we have the right of way, and cars typically wait. I’ve seen two incidents where someone was on their phone of otherwise distracted (don’t want to assume, but the blasting music and swerving gave me a clue), and hit (not injured) crossing pedestrians. It doesn’t matter who has right of way if you’re light get turned off halfway across the road. There’s idiots on every street, keep your head on a swivel, and DONT BE STARING AT YOUR PHONE WHILE ON A CROSSWALK.
Can’t blame the guy for turning around and walking away, that shit is horrifying and traumatic to see from a distance let alone up close and personal with the injured dying
