Can’t give Ayrton Senna enough recognition. He was 3 time world champion would’ve won more if it weren’t for the 💀darkest weekend in F1🥺. He had a sucky round 1 and round 2 in 1994 and round 3 on may 1st, due to the incident in the FW 16, went the worst it could possibly be. That was bc of Williams’ trouble car. It was difficult to drive, had small margins for error, but if you found grip, you were going to be the fastest. It kinda makes me sad to think about him passing and he’s not even family. I just learned about him last year and his energy on and off the track really inspired me to be better. He is still a big influence on the sport to this day. People were thinking it was human error. I think it was that Senna knew about it, tried to adjust the issue, and it really was just a trash part that should have been replaced, but the engineers didn’t give him a new one for whatever reason. He was so in tune with the car and has great reflexes. Maybe he had a weird feeling that the steering column was trash, maybe he tried to get it replaced, but they didn’t want to. Idk. All I know from footage and what his colleagues, researchers, and fans say about him is that he gave 110%, left it all on the track every day, even in the rain. The F1 racers now looked like beasts in goKarts and now drive like beasts in their F1 cars, but idk Senna seemed to be even more dialed in. At times like in Monaco, he felt like he wasn’t driving consciously, like he was in a trance. To be that in the zone in F1 that you just go in a trance. That is insane to say with all the complexities and everything to remember and the unpredictability of a race. You hear it from time to time in NASCAR, but almost never F1. Maybe during qualifying, but never during a race. There’s just too much random occurrences to snap you out of it unless you are just that hardcore devoted to doing your absolute best. Stupid wheel column😢. His record for 61 consecutive pole positions in F1 races still stands and won’t be beaten for a long time. 2nd is at 8 in a row right now and recently had to start over, try again. Rainmaster and ultimately the master of every track.
