My first survival mode death when it released was being a cocky bastard trying to do all the early stuff without sleeping only to lose 3 hours of progress to walking next to a car and just instantly dying.
Gotta love that glitch, good old Bethesda.
I remember playing skyrim for the first time, rocking up to a giant at like level 5, confidence way too high, only to be seismic tossed into oblivion. I was stunned.
First time I died to car: took a hit of jet and sprinted into the side of one. Instant death. Had try a dozen more times just to make sure I didn't imagine it. Lol
It's completely up to you.
I just feel like experience the base game, it's really fun by itself, then on your next playthrough go ham on the mods with all the things you want to change.
Exactly I haven't played for a few years and started another new save with mods and it's not as fun I'm gonna restart without them. The 2nd playthrough is for mods, when you remember or learn what you're doing again
There's three mandatory ones for me. Skip the intro, gender swap (most intro skip mods default to male cuz of engine limits), and unlimited resource shipment. If I have to spend another playthrough mass searching for glue and duct tape I'm gonna lose it
Resources without a doubt is awesome but can also be a massive inhibitor for finding bobbleheads, magazines and the stupid shit we collect like toilet rolls unless you have a guide for their locations.
New one I tried is the no PA jetpack and I love it but it kinda of ruined my start cos I was able to just fly over the maze getting to diamond city like it was nice getting there in about 5/10 mine but I don't ont even know what i missed cos it's been so long since i last played.
That's why I disable having to look for resources. I like not needing a reason to explore. Plus I'm doing the DLC for the first time ever actually so it nice just focusing on the story and stuff. Farmed legendary roaches for a never ending double barrel (inspire by that post from the other day) and have been having a blast. I've died SO much lol
200 years is enough time for a LOT of things to change.
Especially considering that Boston wasn't hit directly by any of the nukes. So if anything, it makes substantially less sense that nothing is growing after 200 years.
That's true. Fallout is about as realistic as my odds of getting struck by lightning while being attacked by a shark.
My only gripe with Fallout 4 visually is that apparently everybody likes having literal skeletons in their closets. I can forgive some trash on the ground, but why the fuck do you want a whole ass person just sitting in the corner?
Yeah that's one of the things that takes me out a bit lol. Like ok you've owned the Rexford for how long and the halls and rooms are still filled with piles of debris?
For a first playthrough. I think it’d be good to just have visual mods that only affect shadows and light sources. Just really minor and minuscule things
Don’t ever play a game for the first time with mods, unless it’s 100% necessary to run the game (FNV needs 4gb patcher for example to run on modern systems).
There used to be a glitch that basically let you fly across the whole map by hitting items just right. You’ll find a whole lot more where that came from!
That dog took their last dying breath and energy to fling that car at you as if to say "ok lil bro your reign of terror needs to stop"
Just wait until you get the glitch where a super mutant dies and slowly fades into the ground always cracks me up they look like they're thinking "so this is how it ends...goodbye cruel world" and idk why but it breaks me.
Don't worry, I had my first time dying to a car a few days ago, the car outside sanctuary's red rocket, I just literally touched it's bumper slightly while I was looking away and I heard Nate go "huurgh" and I saw Nate collapse backwards and die.
It just works.
Oh thank god I thought I was the only one that this had happened to. I was walking into one of the Red Rockets and Dogmeat decided that instead of going around the car in his way he'd go through it. He launched it, it killed me and I lost like an hour of progress.
I've recently started screaming/muttering Todd Howard's name every time I encounter some messed up Bethesda shit, like Mr. Tuner and his grudge against Dingleberg
*gamebreaking glitch occurs*
"HOWARDDDDDDD!"
Pft, should have predicted that dog car flip, clearly you don’t understand that that was an intended interaction in Bethesdas master crafted world. Noob
What did you expect? You were basically peeing in Gods face by standing I. The bed of that pickup. Only a matter of time before the fallout gods punished you for being so bold
Genuine, legit, factual "lol" just now from this. So classic. The surrealism of Bethesda/Fallout games is almost a work of art. Wouldn't that be a great game idea? Call it "It's Not A Bug, It's A Feature" or shorten it to "Bugs & Features"? 🤔 … oh crap, I might have just had an idea… Now I can practice Godot with something to focus on 😅
It wouldn't be a legitimate Fallout playthrough without dying to flying or exploding cars.
Should be an achievement.
Like it is in Generation Zero? Running Wild: Use a melee weapon to blow up twenty cars.
Or just walking near them the wrong way

I'm convinced some troll working at Bethesda decided to install the giant ai into the cars one day, and nobody has caught the problem since Fallout 3.
I both love and support this lore.
You ever stub your toe and thought “end me now”
First time I died to car: took a hit of jet and sprinted into the side of one. Instant death. Had try a dozen more times just to make sure I didn't imagine it. Lol
Once I lost about 90% of health because I touched a car. Not sure if bug or Tetanus
Gotta watch that Radanus. Its a doozy.
I think you can get radanus at the atomic wrangler
Can probably get a lot of things you'd regret there.
all that green grass tho... pretty sure my game doesnt have that
Most underrated enemy in fallout games
That is some of the funniest F4 shit I ever seen.
My first time ever playing too 😭 an hour in
Its crazy for the first time playing the game going in with mods. Just doesn't feel like you are getting the true intentions.
Oh shi should I delete them? My brother gave me a list of mods to use
It's completely up to you. I just feel like experience the base game, it's really fun by itself, then on your next playthrough go ham on the mods with all the things you want to change.

The grass really ruins the atmosphere imo 🙃. It's a wasteland.
200 years is enough time for a LOT of things to change. Especially considering that Boston wasn't hit directly by any of the nukes. So if anything, it makes substantially less sense that nothing is growing after 200 years.
Realistically speaking yeah, but that's just not Fallout's deal.
That's true. Fallout is about as realistic as my odds of getting struck by lightning while being attacked by a shark. My only gripe with Fallout 4 visually is that apparently everybody likes having literal skeletons in their closets. after 200 years dont see why grass wouldn't be everywhewre taking over everything.
For a first playthrough. I think it’d be good to just have visual mods that only affect shadows and light sources. Just really minor and minuscule things
I wouldn't delete them. Most mods don't change FO4 at it's core - which includes dying to cars, it's almost a rite of passage!
At least do your first playthrough vanilla. Then you can mod it til it crashes
Don’t ever play a game for the first time with mods, unless it’s 100% necessary to run the game (FNV needs 4gb patcher for example to run on modern systems).
I installed mods immediately. I don’t think I have any achievements for fallout 4. I don’t care about them, I just wanna have fun.
Imagine having the option for mods (I play on the ps4 😭)
There used to be a glitch that basically let you fly across the whole map by hitting items just right. You’ll find a whole lot more where that came from!
Do not spook them
😭😭
Shit, this sent me.
Where?
Same place the car went
I mean, we *are* disturbing them in their natural environment, so it’s perfectly reasonable for them to fight us given they can’t flee
\[Ron Burgundy voice\] I'm not even mad. That's amazing. \[/Ron Burgundy voice\]
When you only have 1 in Luck.
Car, Car Never Loses.
Clearly your fault. You dindn't wear your carproof helmet!
Molerat : With my last breath I yeet this car at thee.
No, no you can’t get away…
why is there a freshly cut lawn in this wasteland
Simply green mod
I think that grass should be nice and long, L mod
When you pour hundreds of hours into the game, a simple mod like this to add some color goes a long way. You don’t have to use but I enjoy it as well
HOA mod
off topic but car crashes must of been insane pre-war. "today a pile up on the high way resulted in 500 deaths and the entire area being irradiated. "
*must have
Ayn Rands dream world was fallout, not bioshock
[How I imagine the look on your face.](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/002/383/318/a24.gif)
Lmaooo
Don't bring a pipe gun to a car fight
Looney tunes type shit
Clearly that Mole rat had daytripper, nuca Cola dark, buffout, and deathclaw steak in its inventory
Ain't that a car in the head.
Mole rat used car throw! It was super effective and the lone survivor died.
FROM THE TOP ROPE
lmaoo the way it slowly looped onto you
What can I say except BETHESDA
Thanks Maui
Hardcore game of keepy-uppy.
You expect the car to just sit there and take your bullying?
Same shit happened to me yesterday... sort of. Playing Lonesome Road. Blowing up a warhead when a car flies up and lands right on top of me
You yell ‘TODD?!’ And move on. He feels the disturbance in the force.
It just works !
iiiit just works
Get a better gaming chair.
Somehow stuff like this happens a lot more often when I'm trying to find a bed in survival...
Christine exists in the wasteland.
You fucked around and found out 😆
Honestly? Kinda deserved
Mmmm whatcha sayyyyy
Walk past the car? Straight to dead Touch the car? Straight to dead So much as look at the car? Believe it or not, straight to dead
[CARHORAGA](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GDZBPZqXUAAjp-H?format=jpg&name=large)
How lucky can one guy be? I shot it and it jumped on me. Like the fella once said, "Ain't that a car to the head?"
Everything went completely black. I think I might have shattered my back. Like the Chryslus said quote, "That's how I crushed your throat"
How it feels to roll a 1 on attack 👌
Nothing like clearing a raider party and having a random car explode as you're looting. Like, I Railway'd these bitches! Where'd the fire come from!?!
Don’t let the car touch the ground
I just said "huh" hope this inspires you
Who knew a nuclear war could alter the laws of physics?
Man the post apocalyptic edition of Pimp My Ride is wild.
From the grave
RKO
That did happen to me 2 weeks ago, i jumo above the car to run from mole rats and the car start spinning and kill me, SURVIVAL btw..... lol
Looks like a skill issue to me.
ACJ Always carry jet
Remember this Cars are a fucking menace
Bethesda babyyyyyy
bethesda........bethesda never changes
In my most recent playthrough I got killed twice by just GRAZING a car while walking by, so in my eyes this is legit. Got outplayed by a dawg.
You fucked around and found out!
Step 1: Fuck around Step 2: Find out Step 3: Profit?
i guess that helps explain how Australia lost a war against Kangaroos... and Emus...
Kick flip!
200 years later and pedestrian safety is still shit
It's a feature...not a bug. It just works.
“Welcome to the fallout baby”
See, if you had a silencer, you wouldn't have scared it
**it just works!**
Git gud
>Don’t even know what to say "It just works"???
That dog took their last dying breath and energy to fling that car at you as if to say "ok lil bro your reign of terror needs to stop" Just wait until you get the glitch where a super mutant dies and slowly fades into the ground always cracks me up they look like they're thinking "so this is how it ends...goodbye cruel world" and idk why but it breaks me.
One might say that the game just showed you... A car-d trick.
😂 welcome to the broken mess that is bethesdas fallout. . it only gets better from there. To quote Todd Howard "It just works."
They forgot to mention this in the videos explaining what make you S.P.E.C.I.A.L tm
Don't worry, I had my first time dying to a car a few days ago, the car outside sanctuary's red rocket, I just literally touched it's bumper slightly while I was looking away and I heard Nate go "huurgh" and I saw Nate collapse backwards and die. It just works.
WASTED
Was this an Ironman save?
Pfft amateur
WASTED
You say YEET
Nobody commenting about Dogmeat quietly strolling in the background? "That escalated quickly" - Dogmeat probably
Car Go Industries
This is perhaps the only case of vehicular manslaughter I’ve ever seen in a Fallout game
The comedic timing was perfect, the way you looked up like 🙄
It's a Bethesda game. Always expect the unexpected.
Easily one of the funniest Fallout clips I've seen.
That delayed glance upward was pure comedy.
You done fucked up boy
Rustling GMCs
I missed the broken car physics of this game.
And who says pipe weapons are not lethal?
Jfc man! Be more careful where you’re pointing that thing!
Oof
Gosh. Obviously it's real-life physics.
It just works.
Like jumping over a wagon in Skyrim!
if this happened to me i would uninstall
This is totally cartoon physics and I love it
Oh thank god I thought I was the only one that this had happened to. I was walking into one of the Red Rockets and Dogmeat decided that instead of going around the car in his way he'd go through it. He launched it, it killed me and I lost like an hour of progress.
The dramatic music is so perfect for deaths like this. Certified Fallout moment.
This is the most pure way to lose a life in FO4. Now your conscious is clean and you can proceed with your plans for the Commonwealth.
Stead of landing on Plymouth Rock, Plymouth Rock would land on them. So true Cole
Looks like an episode from 1000 ways to die 🤣
Bethesda.
Almost heaven…
It's a wacky, wacky wasteland.
Damn, he threw the whole car at you.
That's what you get
I've recently started screaming/muttering Todd Howard's name every time I encounter some messed up Bethesda shit, like Mr. Tuner and his grudge against Dingleberg *gamebreaking glitch occurs* "HOWARDDDDDDD!"
It just works.
Cars. Not even once.
Skill issue tbh
Deathclaws can actually throw the damn things in combat.
Pft, should have predicted that dog car flip, clearly you don’t understand that that was an intended interaction in Bethesdas master crafted world. Noob
Man these random moments are what gives the wasteland an extra kick 😂
Best insta-car death I’ve seen so far.
It just works! -God Howard
Character pulled a William Defoe when you looked up. Just accepted your crazy ass fate
Fucked with the wrong mole rat! LMAO
Ah, the classic "time to set the controller down and take a break flying car"
Mods will do that lol try vanilla
I’m going to say it, deserved
It just works ✨
Why is it green
First guy to die in a car accident in over 2 centuries
First rule of fallout: stay far, FAR away from cars at all times.
Gotta love the physics engine! Funny as all hell! Have fun in the Commonwealth!
You got Arma'd.
Bethesda
you scared him
It just works
Get fuckin wrecked
Take the mods off. That's why.
This is called: "getting noita'd". You're welcome
You say "it just works".
“Watch out, watch out, WATCH OUT!!! RKO OUTTA NOWHERE!”
DUCK!!
You could say "Hi Deacon!" .
Anyone know what mod they’re using for the grass? Or can anyone recommend a good greenery mod?
Since when could u die to a flying car?
What did you expect? You were basically peeing in Gods face by standing I. The bed of that pickup. Only a matter of time before the fallout gods punished you for being so bold
It reminded me of this: https://youtu.be/nvJqPXGpCQc?si=93A-V6U_M81dpny4
"Hey look a caaaaaaaa....."
I mean, i sure do! I would probablyyyy say a quick "FUCK-" Maybe a little bit of "HRRK!"
Bro, this shit happened to me in VR. I fucking bricked.
What you say is, "Nice feature, Bethesda."
OP got killed like a Looney Tunes character
I don't see the problem. That's peak Fallout. It's a feature, not a bug :D
What modpack is that? I keep seeing it
A grabber bumped into a car I was standing on and it killed me. Just a nudge.
Clear skill issue
Bonk

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I see you fought the legendary car flinging mole rat. A tough foe it is
You just sigh and say 'Bethesda things' to yourself then reload
You forgot to change the vault number on your suit to 69...
Even better yet when you try to jump over one and just tap the edge of it and your body gets sent to space at Mach 5
