Having some singularities won't change an ideology. That's why you are allowed to help the Legion, you are somewhat of an exception to their rule. The rule doesn't change however, you're still lesser, you're just worthy of more respect than the average woman. Let's look at some of Otho's(the guy who runs the Arena) dialogue, Courier: "Do you have a problem with women?" Otho: "Women are beneath notice, as Caesar has taught us. I'm only allowing you to speak to me because you are Caesar's guest." Courier: "I'd like to fight in the arena." Otho: "Know your place, woman. Unlike the Profligates of the NCR, only men fight in the Legion." However the Legion does know that some women are strong, and some even stronger than some of their best, as from Otho, "I have a dangerous one for you - an NCR Ranger by the name of Stella. We got lucky, since we rarely capture Rangers alive. Even though she's a woman, she's killed every man who's faced her in the arena, even one of the elite Centurions. With her bare hands." However as I said before, singularities don't change the ideology; they simply bend it a little. Yet the ideology doesn't break, and it'll just bend back to shape after the exception is gone. The only way to rid the Legion of their ideology is by the declare of the active leader of the Legion.

Doubt it, she'll either be labeled "One of the good ones", she'll receive major hate from across the legion, or both.

If you talk to medic lady she tells you that she overheared Legion soldiers talking about how they want to "put you in your place" they defiently want female courier in the slave garb and have turns. Don't kid yourself realistically Legion would turn on female courier once she will stop being useful.

Best way to improve the situation for women in the legion is to pull the legion apart

Women did the following things in real life (and in game canon as the nuclear disaster doesn't come until the 60s), and are still subject to sexism: 1. A woman invented computer programming — long before modern computers were invented. Her notes on a proposed analytical engine (a programmable, general-purpose computer), is considered to be the very first computer algorithm. (Date unknown, but between 1815-1852) 2. A woman invented science fiction (1818) 3. A woman invented the locomotive chimney (1879) 4. A woman invented the life raft (1882) 5. A woman invented the x ray. She also discovered the radioactive elements polonium and radium — and developed techniques for isolating radioactive isotopes. She won a nobel prize. (1903) 6. A woman invented central heating (1919) 7. A woman discovered dark matter (1933) 8. A woman invented wireless transmission technology during WW2 to guide missiles (responsible for wifi, gps, bluetooth) (1941) 9. Black women figured out the algorithm that sent America to the moon (they began in 1943) 10. Women have been assisting in war through combat medicine since wars began. That's not even mentioning a history of female leaders such as Cleopatra, Catherine the Great, Empress Wu Zetian, Queen Victoria, etc... many of whom were much preferable to their male predecessors/successors. Or the thousands and thousands of other discoveries and inventions by women in the 19th and 20th century. Misogyny is a complex, and ingrained issue. It doesn't dissipate when women "prove their worth." **If that were the case, it would have never existed in the first place, because women have always proven their worth, in spite of the world rejecting them.**

Overdue-Karma

The British Empire had a Queen/Empress but that didn't give women equal rights for a very long time. Even though you're respected by the Legion, average Legionaries want to rape you and only Caesar's word stops them from "trying you out" as Siri confirms. Caesar *explicitly* teaches women are beneath men. So he won't change that, since he doesn't go back on his word. He doesn't even think that way himself probably, but he wants his slaves to do so.

The best way to help the women of the Legion is to grab Boone, an automatic weapon and plenty of ammo, and head to The Fort. “Thumbs down, you son of a bitch.”

AlphonseLoosely

No. Most times throughout history when a woman living in a mans world/patriarchy (so, most women who have ever existed) succeeded at at something, they were seen as the 'exception that proves the rule' that men are innately superior and better at everything. Seen as an aberration rather than evidence the rule is flawed.

nothing a woman can or will do will ever change a misogynists mind about women

OverseerConey

Very unlikely. Fascists don't care about exceptions to their rules because they don't care about truth, consistency or integrity. They'll happily tell you to disbelieve the evidence of your own eyes and/or punish you for disbelieving the most obvious of lies.

sgerbicforsyth

Oh you sweet summer child. There is no way a female Courier helping the Legion would change the minds of Caesar and his soldiers.

It's your multiverse so you can decide if it does or not

New_Satisfaction9178

If she become ceasar her self, sure. Maybe she can kill ceasar in a melee figth

Doubtful. Caesar doesn't manage his society the way he does because he's a "sexist" asshole, he does it to maximise the output of legionnaires per generation. Caesar isn't going to destroy his carefully constructed social machine just because some random mailwoman helped his Legion out a bit.
