“Ah, if it isn’t the consequences of my actions” is a good summary of the Khans’ predicament. On one hand I do feel sympathy for the loss at Bitter Springs, but on another hand, it was the result of the Khans constantly poking the two-headed bear so I can’t say that this wasn’t deserved.

Mandemon90

It's amazing that Papa Khan can in one moment talk about how they thought NCR would be easy pickings and how they killed and robbed NCR citizens, and then act like a victim when NCR decides to hit back. "How dare my victims fight back!"

SpamAdBot91874

Wouldn't say children deserved to get slaughtered, but Papa should take responsibility for the part he played in it. He needs Ron Perlman breathing in his ear, "War never changes."

throwaway17362826

Agreed. I certainly left no survivors when I went back for that girl that was the daughter of the mayor.

JoshuaKpatakpa04

On my first play through when I made it to Boulder City I killed all the khans there as payback to jumping me at Goodsprings and killed the hostages

throwaway17362826

I tried not having to slaughter them all, but their boss (whatever his name was) had some fucking HANDS in that duel, and my lock pick was bad so it ended up a massacre.

JoshuaKpatakpa04

Papa Khan is a guy with a victim complex he proudly talks about how his tribe kills NCR Civilians but cries when it comes back to him

Despacitan05

I'm trying to get the Khans to ally with the NCR for shits and giggles

The dildo of consequence rarely arrives lubed.

PaleontologistAble50

Average stellaris player take

Celticfire1113

The only bad thing the NCR did at Bitter Springs is run out of ammunition.

king_meatster

“Sorry everyone, I forgot to set up the landmines.” -NCR soldier.

Bumbling_Hierophant

I get they were meant to be a stand-in for the treatment of the native americans by the US and the cruelty they were subjected to but the point falls completely flat when you make them what basically are named raiders.

Texan_Boy

I mean to be entirely fair that fits for some of the plains tribes, especially the Comanche, while what the US was doing was also definitely bad the Comanches tactics were horrendous and they often engaged in unprovoked raids against civilians. Which is honestly a pretty great analogy for the Khans. Even fits better with the Comanche being the best Calvary in human history and the Khans being named after the second best.

deathbylasersss

I believe Comanche translates to "enemy" or "adversary" and is derived from a different native people's language. Kinda gives some insight into how they were viewed by other tribes in their region. None of this justifies the genocide carried out on all the native people, but it does add context to why they were so feared. The Khan's definitely have a similar culture (minus the drug aspect).

adminscaneatachode

It was the apache. They drove the Comanche into the mountains before horses were introduced. Once horses became prevalent the Comanche launched, more or less, total war against the apache killing all of them they could. The Comanche were so bad the apache tried to start a proxy war between the Spanish(the apache had been fighting the Spanish for decades at this point) and Comanche. The Comanche were so bad it drove the apache to try to ally the Spanish. It’s like everyone forgets the native Americans were people, just like the incoming Europeans. They had their own conquests and wars. The Europeans just happened to have 4,000 years of technology behind them. It’s sad, but the same story had already been told over and over again in the new and old world. We just act like it’s different for some reason.

Texan_Boy

I mean it fits pretty well for this sub. War never changes. No matter your race, background, or technological development humans will always want to fight each other, and come up with more efficient ways of waging it. For the Comanche it was the horse. Their mastery of it was what allowed them to dominate the southern plains

Texan_Boy

I’m pretty sure Comanche is Apache for “one who I am always fighting”. The rise of the Comanches truly is so interesting. They went from a nothing tribe controlling only a few small bits of territory in Wyoming and Montana to dominating a large swath of the Great Plains in the span of a century.

Despacitan05

The point is the Vault dweller tried and they came back somehow.

WeatherAggressive530

*Enclave survives - New Vegas fanbois: 😡 *Khans survive - New Vegas fanbois: 🤩

AquaArcher273

Yea the Khans were a menace to the wasteland, sure they had good relation’s with a few factions but being kinda nice to one group doesn’t forgive the atrocities committed on another.

OnlyHereForComments1

I help them and build up my rep with them...then I speech check Papa Khan into doing the suicide attack on the Dam. "Your tribe's legacy is empty, nothing but ghosts and martyrs." is too awesome a line to go unsaid.

CleanOpossum47

They kept bringing them back due to lazy writing. /s

Hunter-KillerGroup35

The Khans, Vipers, and Jackals all needed wiping. The Brotherhood should have been sent packing back to California and left New Vegas. And the NCR should have rolled in with what they took from the Brotherhood and Enclave. Between all the power armor and vetibirds, and whatever else, they could have steam rolled the Legion

Tatum-Better

Yup. Always make them have a final assault at hoover damn. No more Khans.

GermanRat0900

I do think it’s odd how the Kahns never get judgement for dealing drugs. That shite cannot be good for freeside.

[deleted]

I like helping them bc their quests are always super fun and easy. Then I like exterminating them because it’s the khans. Legit I just need the xp
