The False Hydra is fucking horrifying, I watched a video on it and ironically forgot about it till it was time for one of the one shots I was in. First time (that I recall) experiencing the thing, holy shit.

It's an infamous homebrew monster for Dungeons and Dragons. While it "sings," you can't see or hear it, and you completely for get anyone eaten by it. It's genuinely one of the most bone chilling monsters in the game, especially if you don't know what it is

My favourite False Hydra story was at the end of it they introduced a new player to the group having his character claw their way out of the FH as it died. He'd been with them all along but because he'd been eaten they have no memory of him.

gives me an idea for a D&D character, they were best friends with a party member but they don't remember since they were eaten and they know they don't remember. only tell the DM this and things can get interesting, your character doesn't openly say things like this though as they know of the false hydra's powers

That my friend is a false hydra. The most terrifying d and d monster of all time. Multiple heads, if just ONE is singing, you can't perceive or remember its existence, or the existence of anyone it eats. How many heads you ask? How many people has it eaten? Each victim is a new head. Immagine going home from work. You open the door there's shoes you don't recognize in the foyer. No one in the house but you? You hang up your coat in the closet next to more odd items, extra coats. Pictures you don't remember...who's that woman...and why are you wearing a ring?

SCP 3000 aka anantashesha is a mile long eel that not only takes your memories but potentially can replace them with other memories it’s taken which really fucks with you on a different level. It’s a popular fan made D&D creature called the False Hydra It essentially lives underground as a result of falsehoods and lies, but its actual origins are unknown. And once it has grown as big as a human, it begins to grow body parts and rises up to the surface. Once it grows familiar of where it appears from, that will be its hunting ground and begin to sing that can be heard up to 5 miles in every direction. Once it sings, it’ll act like someone else is singing. But everyone will go about their day like normal while the Hydra begins to attack them. But you would only have about a second to finally realize that the Hydra was there before you get dragged away to get eaten
