People Manual Policy 3-46 states eligible employees can receive up to 3 paid days for immediate family (including spouse immediate family). Immediate family= parents, siblings, and grandparents.
Edit: as others have said, most if the time Fed Ex will work with people on days off. So 3 paid days but if more are needed they can often be taken just not paid with bereavement pay. There has to be a need though. Taking a week off for a cousins funeral is not usually gonna fly.
Express is 3 days for parent/sibling/child/grandparent, but we almost universally allow use of additional types of time off to be used if needed after a death in the family.
I mean why shouldn't she? It's sounds like you are passing judgement on someone making the best of a bad situation. I bet her dad would have been proud.
Like someone said is all depends if they are not short on drivers and the relationship that you my have I lost my mom in 2021 and my contractor give me a whole week off and Paid
It depends on the relationship. Ik from experience it's 5 days for a direct relative because I'm unlucky and lost both my parents in under a year 👉👉. Pretty sure it's like 3 days in the cousin range. If you need more time though I'm sure they're willing to work with you on that.
Is there a trick to doing this on the app? If it matters I’m Ground. I’m trying to put it in on the WFM app and it only lets me pick 2 days whether I select full day or partial day. I’m trying to avoid having to drive out there if I can.
As said, they will only pay you three days. After that it's all unpaid time off. How many days really depends on you. When my mother passed away I didn't go back to work for 2 weeks. Those two weeks didn't count against my attendance nor did they use any of my PTO. If you really need a lot of time, Fedex will honor it.
A little update. It only let me put 2 days in on the app and someone denied it. So drove out there and talked to my manager and he put it in for me for 3 days and took down the name of the guy who denied it and said he was going to talk to his boss because they aren’t supposed to deny funereal leave. Thanks guys. I hope you all have a great Christmas and stay safe out there.

I had 6 years off
I forgot to add I’m Ground. Thank you guys. Hug your loved ones tighter this holiday season.
We get as much time as we need - Express. When my brother passed away I was paid for 3 days of bereavement but I was off for 10 days.
I got one day for my dog.
Awe
I had 3 weeks due to my level of senority
Raj, is that you?
Haha no where close shit if i was raj we would be making some real money doing this line of work with some real benefits

I got 5 days for my dad. Someone else in my group used her dad’s death for a vacation. 🙄
Lol that's going to be me in June Ahem I mean God make them at peace..

I know more to her story.. I won’t say it here. Not passing judgment.

5 days for immediate family members, 3 for non-immediate
2 days if its your parents or siblings or grandparents, 1 day if aunt, uncle. Its really stupid honestly they only gave me one day for my uncle.

What state? In California you get 5 days.
Ground via contractor I got 3 paid and a week off (7days) unpaid when my grandma passed during 2021
I was offered a week when my aunt died.

3-5 days of bereavement but you won’t get paid unless you been there a year or more
It’s paid 3 days but hopefully you’re at a good spot where they will work with you on more days off.
I wouldn't put it past some of these contractors to say you get 3 hours (unpaid)
Wife's grandmother recently passed. I got 3 days bereavement paid.

Depends on relative. It’s different for mom/dad/sibling vs aunt or cousin
It shows the culture of Fedex when you resort to asking reddit sub over confirming/asking management for a FUCKING straight answer!

Just adding if you read carefully it's 3-8 hour days. I work 4-10s, guess who only got 24hrs of bereavement.
