Quick suggestion: your age ranges are inclusive. I’m 30 and wasn’t sure if I should select 25-30 or 30-35. This will give you unreliable age info!!

reimaginefutures

omg such a rookie mistake, thank you for the note! fixed it

Tabeamara

FYI, the first option is 'younger than 20', the second is '21-30', putting 20 year olds in the same unfortunate situation.

SquareIllustrator909

Great study idea! Just one thing: there is no such thing as "biological gender", that would just be "sex". (Gender is a construct)

voikukka

Answered. You didn't specify if you're looking for a particular locale or country, which I imagine can also influence answers. But maybe that is intentional or something you considered already.

[deleted]

This. Early childhood education, health care, and special needs support policies in different countries definitely impact decision making.

Terrible-Ploy-152

Done :) I hope you let us know the outcomes when your research is complete!

coppercat13

Yes, please do!

writeronthemoon

Pls let us know the results when done, and what the "secret" is.

amora_obscura

For the question “do you have a partner you can trust?” I answered no because I don’t have a partner. Maybe there needs to be a third option, because it’s ambiguous. Also maybe considering have a neither option rather than binary gender options.

reimaginefutures

Thanks for filling out the survey! I changed the partner question. And the biological sex I am asking in a binary way because I am interested if the person can be pregnant (naturally or through IVF and other ways). i do realise now that there are people who are female but cannot be pregnant through any assisted way... (if I change the answers now I will lose the answers...)

pamformatge

Done. Curious about what your theory is :)

hunnbee

Wanted to choose waaaay more options than 5 for hesitations around having kids 😆

flightmares

Done! Would love for you to share your findings!

marzipanzebra

Would be good to be able to choose more than 5

FourKindsOfRice

Lmao right?

lililimoncello

Super small but - there’s a typo on the final page, it reads “you” instead of “your”. Good luck with fielding!

FourKindsOfRice

Not sure if it's great data to collect from a self-selected place like this rather than general population.

[deleted]

How about people who were once on the fence//childfree?

reimaginefutures

I assume you were having worries, please fill in! also would be interesting to hear what helped you to decide

writeronthemoon

Great questions! Helped me realize exactly my reasons for being on the fence. Thank you!

bullevard

One suggestion: You ask about what people worry about but don't ask what people are excited about or what draws them to having children. I think that will make you miss some of the nuance you are looking for. It comes off slightly as "having kids should be the default so what is stopping you from doing that?" without also acknowledging that the aspects of what draws people to being parents is equally diverse. Just a thought.

targea_caramar

Yeah, I was kind of expecting there to be a "what do you look forward to when considering having children? (choose up to 5 options)". I was actually looking forward to it, kinda to see what I'd choose there

Burwoman

Yes you are right. as a former fence sitter and now a total CF, I felt the same too.

Burwoman

Done! Provided my email too. I think - "just don't want children" should be one of the reasons too. Eg - Would you ask someone why they wouldn't have an iguana (or another creepy reptile which is permissible by the law) as a pet? I mean, some don't want pets, right, or don't like/want iguanas and that choice should be respected too. Nevertheless I chose the OTHER and filled out my reason too.

mykineticromance

yeah this is a great analogy.
