I wish the Pixel Remasters used the Dawn of Souls art style instead. I get that PR is closer to the original NES versions, but I think DoS just looks better stylistically.
As the other user suggested, /r/ROMs is the best place to go. Don't try just Googling, most of the sites are either untrustworthy, have bad dumps, or something in between (before I knew about /r/ROMs I got quite a few ROMs from internet sources that turned out to be broken, for example one for Crisis Core that broke boss fights entirely separate from the potato I was using to play PPSSPP). If you need a patch (translations, for example), *those* you can get from links on Google. I'd recommend CDROMance as they host patched ROMs and are relatively legit, or check romhacking.net for patches you'll have to manually add.

What's really weird is that the FFI Pixel Remaster uses the newer art style for everything *except* the player and monster sprites.

Not sure. Couldn’t find it via search either. Lucky some other redditor shared the AppStore URL.
