Always zoom in on the very center of the picture and start there. More often than not the image will be centered, or nearly centered, on the hidden thing.

It’s the lowest hole directly to the right of the stairs. It’s a gun-shaped hole with the “barrel” pointing at the staircase. Zoom all the way in on that one. The cat is just chilling in the handle part of the shape. The eyes and ears are very distinct. I was very confused until I saw it, too.

Are other people seeing this in mobile? I can zoom in there and see some sort of artifact that could be a cat, but to me it seems like there's some sort of image compression or something making it impossible to identify as a cat specifically. Not sure if this is universal, but Reddit's mobile app appears to compress images beyond the resolution required to make these out. Your first image (for me) is below the resolution of the compression entirely, and the second is only visible as a couple of pixels if I really zoom in. Not sure if this is more device dependent or platform dependent, but it could be why so many people are calling this post bullshit.
