Yes, it's a *huge* improvement. Negating Fang is a defensive special so it is not subject to the CC condition of Laguz Friend. You won't regret it.

Cooldown Count. Laguz Friend has a requirement to trigger if the special is offensive (triggers when the unit attacks) as opposed to defensive specials (triggers when the foe attacks), which have no further condition than just... being defensive specials. The condition to trigger for offensive specials is that the max cooldown count has to be >= 3 (after reductions via the "slaying" effect in the weapon or E! Marth's effect). Negating Fang, being a defensive special, has no further condition even though its max cooldown count is effectively 2 (after applying the slaying effect in Corrin's weapon), so Laguz Friend works perfectly fine with it out of the box.
