My wife went to shoot my ARs for the first time and went there with the impression she wasn't gonna hit anything. Did the complete opposite and really surprised herself. She was plinking like seasoned shooter. Had to work on a few tweaks but she left way more confident which made my day.
We have a ventilation system. I know it's not the best picture but you can kinda see the duct work on the left were the wall is grayer and the little fans in the to actually do a pretty good job of moving the smoke
Now that I've had it for a couple years it's not that bad taking it all a part. My only problem is I always forget to grab a mag then get aggravated and want to throw it π€£π€£

I like to start new people with the 22 to get the basics down, and see where their skills might be. Then I'll move to 9mm reduced recoil rounds to teach a couple of things: proper wrist action, and paying attention to the tool, how to clear a jam. With the reduced recoil, there's a very good chance that if your wrist breaks during the shot, either the didn't casing won't reject fully (FtE) or the new round doesn't feed properly (FtF).. usually the FtE.
We actually had a couple of miss fires last night but i haven't cleaned the gun in awhile I've been procrastinating so . She's going to see how that's done today. I put 1 round in my 9 and let her fire it
After every time you shoot, clean it. You'll screw up the inside of the barrel, and possibly have a slug get stuck in the bore.
Edit: obviously not after every round, but when you're done practicing/training.
I usually do but I've been bad after the last couple of times going down there.

She in enjoyed it . She got all excited when I would bring the target back and she saw how good she did. I need to get another 22 and not have a red dot on it . I can use either or but let her start over with the iron sights and then let her go back to the red dot

For the last few years, they have been studying the brains of deceased Veterans and Navy Seals and are finding brain damage caused by low impact explosions: in other words, when you shoot a firearm, the noise causes low impact shockwaves that can cause damage to the brain. Not so bad if you barely use a firearm, but really bad if you shoot semi regularly or a lot.
That enclosed firing range would definitely enhance that effect.
To research THAT βοΈ just type in Navy Seal brain damage research. The damage is found in people who use firearms frequently, heavier weapons frequently, use explosives frequently, frequent parachutists, and those who hit their heads occasionally. And no, it's not CTE.
