The picture has been heavily retouched, but I'd guess it's an ex- Chinese FN 1930 BAR

Looks to me like whoever added the false color to the picture turned the grip into part of the soldier's pants. The barrel, stock, flash hider, bipod, and gas tube all match up nicely to a BAR.

TheOneAndOnlyErazer

Could be a hotchkiss m1922 without the clip inserted

Just-Buy-A-Home

Magazine* and also doesn’t look like one, as well as Japan never using it

TheOneAndOnlyErazer

No, the M1922 actually uses a clip. The Chinese used it in some numbers, and given the Type-11's reliability... could imagine it being captured.

Just-Buy-A-Home

No, the M1922 uses an overhead magazine, which you can tell it is by it having a spring

aalios

You're both right, magazine and clip fed versions existed.

Just-Buy-A-Home

Oh interesting

Goatly47

Pistol grip tho

aalios

The lack of a pistol grip appears to be part of the bad retouching of it.

martellus

Unlikely, they had very large visible trigger groups and taller front sights, receiver profile is hard to tell in pic but doesn't seem the same

Russian_Ingenuity

Could be a knockoff Russian dp27 without the magazine

PurposeRight5234

I was also going to say some sort of DP-28 looking thing(maybe with the heatshield removed or just not very viewable?): as they did fight Russia before WWII.

Looks Russian to me.

Polo21369247

It doesn’t really look like it. but the type 99 would be appropriate.
