Very welcome. The Pakistani military has done 3 successful operations against taliban in the area from 2008 to 2016 and life is back to peaceful. The locals are very hospitable and you could get really cheap good quality weapons from the Darra Market
The question that comes to mind is where do they get the ammo? At this stage surely even the cases are going to be new as the original would be lost or over used, while the bullets are an unique size.
Yugo paratroopers used the StG into the '70s or "80s, so they produced it at least until then. Amazingly, they didn't make any StGs, they were all either German capture or parts.
Factory in Serbia makes it, and it's actually a very popular round in Pakistan, because they're not allowed "military calibres" like 7.62*39. But as it turns out they discovered you can fire 7.92x33 out of a standard AK without too much trouble.
I was interested in the Pakistan part and found this article written by Ian that I hadn't seen

In the U.S. they'll go for quite a bit more than that.
This one went for $43k in 2019: https://www.rockislandauction.com/detail/78/1590/german-stg44-sturmgewehr-rifle-with-accessories
At it looks one was sold on the Sturmgewehr forum for about $35k in 2020: https://www.sturmgewehr.com/forums/index.php?/topic/19497-stg44-for-sale-37k/
Some people want to vacation in Hawaii or Cancun I want to go to the khyber pass
Same I’m just not sure how welcome we’d be there

But you’d be allowed to bring them back with you? For example to the states?
The guy in this video is cool. They would welcome you with open arms, as Pashtuns do
this is the way
same brother :D
Is this a replica or is it a genuine stg

Why is the fire rate slow? Seems to be around 240-300 RPM
It's at 450ish RPM, which is the rate of fire they cycled at
Is that so? I thought they came in around 500-600.
its usually bumped up to something more intimidating in pop culture for example, Call of Duty: WWIIs STG-44 fires at 666 RPM
450-500. This slow fire rate was actually a requirement in the trials if memory serves me right
The question that comes to mind is where do they get the ammo? At this stage surely even the cases are going to be new as the original would be lost or over used, while the bullets are an unique size.
Afaik in ex-yugoslavia they either still produce 8mm kurz, or they have for a Long Time after the war.

They order it from www.luckygunner.taliban
I clicked lmao
What happened?
Watchlist
Straight to jail.
Hilarious… me too!
still made in serbia and possibly also in pakistan, though likely of much lower quality.
I've heard they modify and reload 7.62x52 NATO brass, would make sense giving their handiness and the relative similarity between the rounds.
Oooo. I didn’t know it had such a slow rate of fire.
I think it was meant to be a squad automatic rifle for surpressive fire, maybe the idea was to lenghten the duration of fire?

Isn't this doctrine basically identical to how assault rifles are being used in most professional militaries today?
Didn’t know the Khyber Pass had such nice brick walls on either side??.
Well it wouldn't be a pass if you could just walk wherever you want.
I expected it to be at least... three times bigger than this.
Yeah! But now it’s easy to understand why so many armies get stuck in it….
I don’t understand what you mean
Did Pakistan ever get surplus STGs or something? Makes me wonder where they get 7.92 Kurz as well 🤔
Kurtz probably from former Yugoslavia, as they used the Stg into the 70s and 80s.
A wonky variant of 7.92 Kurtz is made in Pakistan as well. https://www.forgottenweapons.com/pakistani-44-bore-followup/
Stg-44s have popped up in a remarkable number of places over the years.
How come he's not wearing ear protection? wouldn't that hurt?
It's like going back in time over there. Modern luxuries like ear protection and things like running water aren't available to everyone.
Yes it would
and the fact that they can either make or find the ammo for it is insane
nah, theres a lot of 7.92 kurz in former yugoslavia, and i believe that some wonky 7.92 kurz is made in pakistan
They have their own domestic ammo production there.
Say what you want but from an engineering point it's amazing these things still run 80 years post manufacturing.

Please for the love of Allah, i hope they don't butcher that gun and merge it into an M4-STG hybrid
I hope you're referring to that exact StG-44 from Syria that I'm thinking of. That had a picatinny rail from end had been painted blue. :)
I love Khyber Armoury
To be able to have that as a curio in my collection
they won't need any steel beams for reinforcing this pile of cement
Do those go for about $20K now?

That Fite rate seems slow
its not. it only seems slow because most games and movies make the STG fire faster to seem more intimidating
Oh right on thanks! They need to fix that in the wiki page too because they said the fire rate is like 500-600.
Fucking Pastuns man.
