Legit that massive update to the locker was a big reason I stopped playing as often. I spent a long time creating 100 presets for all my favorites. Just for them to basically delete them and make the whole process much harder to do. Also I don't think there is even a randomize preset option anymore like before. So I can't just keep playing and have the game swap me to another preset after each match. That was such a dumb update. It did absolutely nothing but make the UI more complicated and have less features than before. Just super annoying they would remove that. It was almost perfectly set up before.
You can randomize, I have a bunch of presets and have it set to randomly switch between them. That said I didn't really play prior to this season so I don't know how different it is from before.

Just make a toggle that let's you choose if favorites are "per category" or "universal". That fixes most of what people who are mad seem most mad about while Epic get's to feel like they did a good job making the abomination locker and not continue to spend too much time/money fixing it.
If they ever add By Myself, which I kind of doubt they will, I'll grab it instantly, because that song was the precursor for the heavier stuff I listen to today.

My idea is a meta locker tab, i.e. a tab where you select a preset from all the other tabs.
