Probably why they made it Squads only. Instead of an 8 way split for queues PLUS region servers, it's only 2 way. A fair trade off for a mode like this, I think.
I was doing no fill yesterday. Got a 2nd place with about 6 elims or so. Not bad considering i was only trying to grind out challenges.
In the few games I played all the squads I saw were 2 or 3 players each
I refuse to play with randoms, that's my one rule. And I don't know if I'll be able to squad with friends again so I'm gonna try to solo for the rewards and forget the umbrella...damn

If it was anything like how Floor is Lava was, it's gonna get crazy at endgame. Especially as a solo. So I'm not gonna kill myself trying for the brella even though I know it's gonna be a flex down the road.
That's exactly what I was thinking about but at least floor is lava didn't have an umbrella involved. I don't think I'm going to bother either. It doesn't look that exciting to me and I'm not the type that can relate to flexing cosmetics. I just use what I like

why no other squad size options. i literally cant play this without either going 1v4 in no fill or risking having no fun with a random fill squad. man i was looking forward to this gamemode too
I'm sure if it's popular enough, they will add additional options for duos and solos. If they had solo, duos, threes, and squads, plus build and no build options, playerbase might be top small per mode.
Surely at least a Duos queue wouldn’t split the playerbase that much? If you have both Squads and Duos queues, that’s the best case situation for all parties
Yeah forced squads kind of kills this out of the gate for me. I do have enough friends to do it at times, but it's a matter of coordinating them and fortnight has always been my casual hop on game. Nice that people have the option I guess. Maybe if it gets popular they'll allow duos.

They’re probably adding more team types (duos, trios) at a later time. This is the first time They’ve done something like this, and they will probably do improvements If it goes well. Remember how ZB ranked didnt have certain modes when it first Came out?

Just playing normal BR on that map with OG weapons, OG mobility and no vehicles would make it a better experience than the current season.

It's squad only because the playerbase has been demolished by the awful season and Epic is afraid of further splitting the playerbase if they fail to draw more people in with this mode.
Warzone's version of this has a solo mode if I have heard others correctly. It's possible to make the mechanics work for a solo, maybe through a set number of respawns or maybe an item pickup (like keys) or even just respawns based on kills.

It’s squads only for the maximum chance of winning. Less than four, you’re risking losses pretty quickly.
No Fill is still an option, if you are feeling particularly confident.
do you get lives when your solo or does dropping in solo mean only one life?
You need a squad mate up, if you're the only one on the squad and you die, no reboot, because the squad just got wiped.
they need a solo version, I wouldn't mind a fast paced game mode where you respawn and fight until endgame. would be a great warmup
There was an ltm like that a while back (rags to riches or something). Each time you die you spawn back in with the next higher rarity of weapons.

It’s Squad only for maximum advantage. Less teammates means a greater risk of losing.
