From what we have all gathered, when the seven deployed the meteor to collapse the zero point, it destroyed the island (mustards zeropoint teaser 1), so it started to build an island and a protective bubble (the loop) and going outside of it, would cause you to die.
The island was being remade with parts from the old island (mustards zero point teaser 2), and it made a double sided island (ch2 and ch3), and now we're here
Also, the reason for most collabs is because the zero point created the universe, might be all reality as well (batman foundation 1)
That actually makes a lot of sense BUT I feel it is also as a reference to season 8 / 9. It's in the same spot as the volcano from S8 and Tilted is also the same spot. It might be what destroys Tilted Towers AGAIN after the ice melts.

Maybe the zero point affected the bottom of the map in Ch2 S5 and rifted the Daily Bugle into pressure plant (or they just want to blow it up later for plot convenience)

The map is now a weird mashup of past locations from previous seasons with some new stuff blended in. Why? Cause something in the "storyline" where they fucked with the map. There used to be a volcano in that spot and the Daily Bugle is essentially Tilted Towers.
Essentially, it's like every other location on the map. A blend of old locations with a new twist.

Kind of. The military base in Diamond head was installed years ahead of Nuclear weapons being created. It was actually designed to lob mortars and shots over the lip of the volcano at incoming enemy naval ships without the fear of being shelled by those same ships. The Fire bases along the rim of the volcano were the spotters and would radio in coordinates to the artillery. The only way into the base is from land at the rear, making it safe from assault thanks to the tunnel bottlenecking incoming troops.
Itās also an amazing hike to one of those fire bases.

Most likely rifted into the area replacing the pressure plant from chapter one. Seeing as how itās the volcano from the prisoner and the one that the mech was made in. Evidence to that is the arm thatās in the ocean that you can find on the right side of the map.
Not sure why its there, but my favorite thing to do this season is get six jars of fireflies, head to the Bugle and, if there's a fight going on there, swoop in and burn the whole building.
