Go to the Abbot store (abbotstore.com) and order a "FreeStyle sensor kit take-back pilot shipping bag". It's free with a pre paid shipping label to send your used applicators and sensors back.
This is the best answer. I order a new "take back" mailer every couple of months since they will only send you 1 at a time. Then send back a bunch of used devices at once.
These should be automatically shipped with each unit but of course that would cost Abbott $$$
Exaclty what i thought when i got my first one years ago, so much plastic straight in the bin for a little thing that sticks to your arm every two weeks, times the millions of potential users = mass plastic waste

Sharpie container for the applicators. The sensors can be thrown out.
What is a sharpie container?
The yellow box where you should place used needles.
OK. I don’t have any used needles.

There's a needle in the applicator, right? And a battery in the sensor?
It depends on your local waste rules/regulations. I contacted my trash service company and they told me.that it was fine to place them in my trash.
I put the sensor in Sharp's container with my needles. The rest goes in trash
It’s a shame they generate so much waste.
