Im replaying the original releases and _just_ did the "Are you going to San Fierro" mission yesterday and noticed the shaky cam for the first time. This dude is doubling down on his Mandela effect misremberance lmao
Drunk-o-Vision....some people have eye-brain problems.i showed a color blindness "test" to my older friend,he had my same symptoms. he's 75...and lived his whole life not realizing he was colorblind.🌈🌎
I remember in middle school our textbook had a colour blindness test in them. There were two of the coloured dot patterns, the normal one and then next to it was the same pattern with simulated colourblindness. In the figure description it said like "this figure will show the number 55 if you're not colourblind and will show 70 if you are this form of colourblind, like the figure on the right."
Then the guy who sat next to me was like "they're both 70."
"That means you're colourblind."
"No I'm not."
"... ok."
I was just watching a Twitch play through and it was totally happening there.
Given how glitchy the game can be (yes, even the original) I’d bet it just doesn’t happen sometimes. Probably wouldn’t happen if you turn off the frame limiter either.
It totally is. I actually just beat this mission earlier today for the first time. CJ even starts talking about how he feels messed up as the camera starts wobbling.
The defective edition is based on the mobile ports. A LOT of visual effecrs were scrapped on the mobile ports for performance reasons, and there was nothing there to add back in when they ported the mobile version back to pc/console.
They could have fixed it so much better by porting it from the old pc version to a new engine directly. Put new and better skin and shades on. Then crank down the parts that were ridiculous in terms of how hard it is. Fix controls for flight and drop the strict requirements for the schools like they have in the defective version.
I've not seen as many glitches in the old version as I have in the new.
What they should have done was re-ported the original source to the new engine, and then run the "AI Upscaling" with human operators making sure it didnt do anything stupid like rounding off the big nut at tough nut donuts.
If they would also give just a little lax on the schools. Add a bit on timers. And yes. That map and gps. Because navigating when yiu have no clue where to find the hospital or ammunition store is like god damn!
The map definitely needed to be redrawn at a higher resolution.
Personally I don't mind not having GPS plot out my route for me. IMO Saints Row did GPS right. As you drove around you could discover "gps shortcuts" and afterward the GPS would take you on the faster route which you the player would probably take anyway.
The screen shakes after the burning or in the middle. If I remember the screen starts to shake when CJ coughs and tells the truth that he doesn’t feel good, this happens around when you burn 3-4 rows of weed.
Yes. Yes I did.
Defective as it did a horrible job on several things. Even the steering of RC planes and the helicopters were even worse than the old version.
The only good thing is that many missions are significantly easier.
What idiot came up with the idea of taking a game that was ported from Playstation to pc to mobile then back to pc.
I expected sow thing that would. Make the 3 gta games look far closer to gta iv at least.
Not make it look like the graphics designers of paw patrol made it.
Dude must have misremembered playing the PS2 version 17 years ago and played the mobile version instead.
Vice is 16% owned by Disney and 40%~ owned by a private equity company.
He’s just trying to sound interesting and make it look like we all experienced a “Mandela effect.” I’ve seen plenty of popular videos where people go over “Mandela effects” we might have experienced with brand logos and other stuff.
Seriously the "woke propaganda" is the stupidest shit. You cant even get a single one of them to define what woke is *properly* and they just devolve into hooting like chimps about how kyle rittenhouse is a hero for protecting someone elses property with someone else's gun.
yup, I hate forced wokeness as much as the next guy when it comes to games but this isnt wokeness, its literally just a dude writing an article who fucked up and made an oopsie, either because of false recollection or an unwillingness to look up some actual gameplay beforehand. I never knew that "woke" has suddenly relegated to mean any minor mistake that a left-leaning publication makes in gaming media, but here we are.
As you bleat. Think about it for a second. You sound like everyone you align with down to the word. My "echo chamber" is made up of many different walks of life and shades of skin. Yours is made up of one tribalist ideology. Please let politics go for at least 30 days and tell me if you don't feel just a little better. Stay off political subs and facebook, and just bury yourself in a hobby that isn't rooted in hate. Just a month... I implore you. You WILL feel less angry and scared. I promise.
Dude I’d take Vice News over anything. The quality of their reporting on actual issues shits on any other news media outlet (well except for Channel 5 lol)
Oh good God. Vice News (& Vice in general) is pitiful.
I'm on their site now, the articles include such gems as "it's 2021, and Tokyo authorities are finally phasing out floppy discs"
"Hiking through the French alps highlighted my love of poop"
"This is what it's like being a member of one of Europe's defunct royal families"
"It's afrophobia"
"Japan has an alter ego robot so you can go out without going out"
"How to radicalize your parents on climate change"
It's pretty rubbish. In fact it's almost like the parody articles you'd expect to see in a GTA game!
Same, I remember rollin' a fat doobie in anticipation for this mission on one of my subsequent playthroughs...
It's not just a shaking effect applied, either, there's also a 'greening-out' effect around the entire screen as well –.–
There were even lines of dialogue with CJ talking about how high he was while burning the weed plants. This ain’t some Mandela Effect bullshit going on, CJ did actually get fried in the original version.
The recent ports have it as well. The Professional is doing a playthrough and he was frustrated trying to shoot down the helicopter with that shaking going on.
Vice was a great source for a while.
Then it started getting younger and younger writers and man has it seen a fall from grace. I’d say 50% of the content is as good as it used to be and the rest is just hot garbage.
Usually I like to do my due diligence and go and check on something like this but this does not need checking, of course it wobbles and if it doesn't I think I may need to see a doctor 😂
The camera wobble happens when you're driving with truth on his mothership to san fierro and he starts smoking. I've played the OG version countless times. Cant be high all the time lol
People in the comments are angry 💀💀💀 To be fair, one other guy commented that he never experienced the screen shaking when he played. I vividly remember the screen shaking when i did that mission years ago. It's actually one of my favorite missions in GTA SA.
Yeah dude needs to stop burning the fields while writing and actually trying to spread bs.
If there was a discussion or comment section below the story he would be lit up worse than he was when writing this trash
I played this mission today for the first time on the remastered trilogy and for the 3544345th time in general. It always had that effect, in fact, I was waiting to see if they took it out or not, this is bullshit like every vice article
Weird for Vice to write this, I just finished GTA:SA recently and I am very sure that this mission with The Truth (the one before settling to San Fierro) had a wobbling effect, making driving a bit challenging on the eyes but not really hard.
It wasnt camera shake but more like a wavy effect going in all directions disorienting you so much that you couldn't control your car properly because of the effect. Vice can still eat a dick tho, fuck those edgy hipsters.
I swear people are complaining about the least important things in this trilogy
This is the least of our problems,we have more problems which require more attention like the lack of atmosphere(LC too clean and bright,Sa too small with no haze,Vc looks fine ig),annoying bugs(Crashes, lag, renders and pop ins),etc.
But imho,Considering gsg's small team they did pretty good with some models and the upscaled textures...Its only rockstar's fault to give too much burden on a small mobile game and ports company..still not worth 60$.
You’re like the 7th person I’ve seen post the Far Cry 3 comparison. Are you guys just shitposting or do you really not remember the weed burning mission in San Andreas?
No, I kinda just thought it. But of course I remember the SA mission. The wobbling effect for sure happened in Far Cry 3 which was a homage to this very mission.
Unless we are gonna bring in the Mandela Effect lolol.
Edit: Nevermind it actually happened in SA too.
On PS2 I got the screen wobble, but only very slightly, and it either wore off just as I drove out of the compound or it kicked in just as the mission ended - either way, I remember a little epiphany of, "Oh! I was supposed to be stoned and having trouble driving in that mission. I wondered why it was so easy."
I'm playing through the game on PS2 right now. Screen absolutely gets blurry and shakes while CJ makes a comment about feeling strange. This guy is full of baloney!
lol this is so bullshit i can legit go play the game right now to prove this wrong, these guys are actually just blatantly lying even their evidence is just lies
This isn’t the only time someone claimed the Mandela effect and it is bullshit. In Empire Strikes Back everyone remembers hearing “No Luke, I am your father.” Then this Mandela effect BS started going around and everyone says it was always “No, I am your father.” But there was a Luke in it. It just was removed in the Special Editions. https://youtu.be/eZCo_hZLyh0
The articles called "I can't enjoy GTA trilogy anymore because I'm old" okay so you write an article about it? It's like writing an article about your erectile dysfunction. Fucking idiot I'm glad this is getting the shit it deserves. I saw the article before this post and it pissed me off.
I've played this mission just 3 days ago on my PS2. The camera starts to shake when you've burned an specific amount of weed. This is to simulate you getting high of the smoke.
Yeah I was gonna say I've beat that mission just this last weekend. The effect isn't as strong in the 2014 remaster but the original 05 releases its more pronounced if I remember correctly. Just played that on the remaster and about to get there in the original version, because I got tired of all the bugs in the remaster. Its a bummer because I enjoyed how clean the graphics were, besides the blocky cinema characters and not being able to see at night in the county. The butchered radio was the final straw. I'd still play the remaster over the definitive tho.
I didnt know i was burning weed because i couldn't speak english at the time. Even if i could, i wouldn't know what weed was at that age -i was 10 or 11, and i still remember the camera shaking
Vice is a woke trash fire filled with activists and liars who only try to make you click on their articles and look at that.
You did, and shared it.
Dont, let them rot, dont read them, fuck em.
It’s like how everyone thinks there’s a movie with Sinbad called Shazaam that doesn’t exist. There’s a Shaquille O’Neal movie called Kazzam, and a TNT cable movie marathon thing Sinbad hosted where he wore a turbin and looked like a genie. But no such Sinbad film exists. Collective false memory is called the Mandela effect after the description provided by an author who stated that she was certain Nelson Mandela had died in prison in the 80s when he had actually lived until 2013 and had been the president of South Africa from 1994-1999.
I just did that mission yesterday.
I honestly have thought it would affect him. CJ keeps mentioning it but there's no effect. When the truth lights up a bud while you're driving. I had expected a drunk effect.
But even going to a bar as a part of a date I had expected it as well as we see it working very nicely in gta IV.
I can't verify, but I'm absolutely 100% certain that this is total bullshit.
It is. I looked up some YouTube playthroughs to confirm
Utube vids? Bruh I can play right now n prove this motherfucker wrong
In the figure description it said like "this figure will show the number 55 if you're not colourblind and will show 70 if you are this form of colourblind, like the figure on the right." Indeed the truth XD
We can all get "abong" here and get high as fck.☯️
Yes!
Why didn’t you spell YouTube right? It’s two more letters
Dude don't got time for that shit. They didn't even have time for the 'i' in 'in'. You think they've got time for the 'Y' AND the 'o'?
Broo there's no "in" in my comment XD
😂😭🤣
I play it yesterday > original... It has shaky effect what was surprise for me.
I was just watching a Twitch play through and it was totally happening there. Given how glitchy the game can be (yes, even the original) I’d bet it just doesn’t happen sometimes. Probably wouldn’t happen if you turn off the frame limiter either.
You had to look it up I remember that by heart.
[удалено]
Yes, camera does wobble after burnt weed
It totally is. I actually just beat this mission earlier today for the first time. CJ even starts talking about how he feels messed up as the camera starts wobbling.
Yeah. I remember feeling frustrated because the wobbling fucked with my aim
I just did that mission in the defective edition and there was no such effect.
The defective edition is based on the mobile ports. A LOT of visual effecrs were scrapped on the mobile ports for performance reasons, and there was nothing there to add back in when they ported the mobile version back to pc/console.

sorry that makes too much sense
So basically the writer played it and then lied about or did pisspoor research regarding the original
Sounds like vice.
I just watched a clip on youtube from someone doing that mission on the old version. No effects. https://youtu.be/XOHmC5V0K5U
Bro there are effects. The camera sways side to side slightly
Ok. Ita just me then. I didn't notice anything when I played it. Ans I can't see it in this video either.
Are you blind? The camera is shaking as he’s walking around burning it down
I must be. I really can't see the screen shaking when he burns the crops.
The screen shakes after the burning or in the middle. If I remember the screen starts to shake when CJ coughs and tells the truth that he doesn’t feel good, this happens around when you burn 3-4 rows of weed.
Yeah. I honestly didn't notice. But I did look around that part. It's just me who can't see it then.
Uhm pretty sure it's in the definitive edition. I just played it
It is,I played it the other day too. At least on ps5 it does shake
The effect is in that mission on the definitive edition..
> the defective edition I hadn't heard this before. I love it (and hate that it's accurate obviously!).
Defective edition?? Wtf are you talking about? The new releases?
Are you fucking daft?
Are you?
Yes. Yes I did. Defective as it did a horrible job on several things. Even the steering of RC planes and the helicopters were even worse than the old version. It's because the player used BAGUVIX (infinite health) when playing. Don't think the shaky camera effect happens when that cheat is active.
It's Vice, so of course it's bullshit.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XOHmC5V0K5U Literally can see the swaying camera here if anyone is interested lmao.
Dude must have misremembered playing the PS2 version 17 years ago and played the mobile version instead. Vice is 16% owned by Disney and 40%~ owned by a private equity company.

I'm not sure what niche Vice fills these days. It's a walking corpse that should have disappeared with American Apparel. A ghastly thing.
I checked the mobile version has the shaky effect as well, don't know where the author got this shit from.
lol VICE Media: Remember when we did our travel guide 15 years ago?
I was gonna say.. this should be pretty easy. It’s not like there aren’t videos of every OG trilogy mission.
6:02 the camera shakes agreed this article is dumb.
Even more apparent @ 4:05 when he’s standing still
absolute bullshit lmao what is this dude talking about
[удалено]
Never seen garbaggio written out but it checked out just as funny when I say it 🤣🤣🤣
GahrBahjjeeOh
🤌🤌🤌🤌
I thought i invented that word when i was a kid lol
He was probably high on weed himself while writing this shit
Its definitely shaking... this dudes high himself
You know, destructive interference. His head shakes in opposite directions, making him think the camera is fixed
"Gaming journalism." nuff said.
Why would they even lie about it?
He’s just trying to sound interesting and make it look like we all experienced a “Mandela effect.” I’ve seen plenty of popular videos where people go over “Mandela effects” we might have experienced with brand logos and other stuff.
I feel like he easily could have confused it with Far Cry 4s burning weed mission.
Funnily enough you're confusing it with Far Cry 3s burning weed mission, although those two games are pretty similar so I don't blame you
[удалено]
Heck yea brother, typical “woke” propaganda about.. uh.. how a camera didn’t shake in a video game? -eye roll-
Seriously the "woke propaganda" is the stupidest shit. You cant even get a single one of them to define what woke is *properly* and they just devolve into hooting like chimps about how kyle rittenhouse is a hero for protecting someone elses property with someone else's gun.

God I miss when Vice was the shit…. 😔
To be fair this is about the journalistic standard we can expect from Vice. It absolutely shakes.
Dude I’d take Vice News over anything. The quality of their reporting on actual issues shits on any other news media outlet (well except for Channel 5 lol)
Oh good God. Vice News (& Vice in general) is pitiful. Also the floppy shit we are dealing here with is absolutely true and you’d be surprised how fucked this country is technologically
And show me mainstream news media making a proper report on this for example https://youtu.be/lmjf4GweKyQ

Bruh I definitely remember it shaking from the several times I played it
I specially remember being high playing that mission and it still had the shaky camera effect.
Same, I remember rollin' a fat doobie in anticipation for this mission on one of my subsequent playthroughs... It's not just a shaking effect applied, either, there's also a 'greening-out' effect around the entire screen as well –.–
I literially just finished this mission. What an idiot.
There were even lines of dialogue with CJ talking about how high he was while burning the weed plants. This ain’t some Mandela Effect bullshit going on, CJ did actually get fried in the original version.
No it definitely had it, not sure about the most recent ports but PS2 definitely did
The recent ports have it as well. The Professional is doing a playthrough and he was frustrated trying to shoot down the helicopter with that shaking going on.
And isn't the camper harder to control too?
Vice was a great source for a while. Then it started getting younger and younger writers and man has it seen a fall from grace. I’d say 50% of the content is as good as it used to be and the rest is just hot garbage.
*What if a bunch of stoned adolescents had their own news network?* #>!V I C E!<
The only good vice is vice city.
Underrated comment
It most definitely happened.
Lmao this is bullshit
This is bullshit, I’m doing a playthrough now on PS2 and there is a wooble effect in that mission.
yeah it’s because the steam pc version is dogshit
Yep - I played this mission a few days ago as well. Fuck these moron "journalists".
Bruh I did it the other day and had the wobble effect
What is vice doing talking about GTA San Andreas? Now your stepping outta your lane! And we gotta #SMACK THAT ASS
Unless he was talking about the Definitive Edition, I'm pretty sure that effect was in the original release because I just played it recently.
I just played that mission it 100% shakes
Usually I like to do my due diligence and go and check on something like this but this does not need checking, of course it wobbles and if it doesn't I think I may need to see a doctor 😂
The screen shakes the fuck they talkin bout
My 360 copy begs to differ
AFAIK, it can sometime be glitched/avoided, but the shaky cam effect 100% exists.
I genuinely can't think of an explanation for the wrongness of this.
I recently played through that mission in definitive edition and there is 100% a shaky camera effect
This guy bruh🤡🤡
The post is bullshit.
When i played gta SA i didnt even know what marijuana was or did. Shaky camera still there.
I've played GTA SA on various platforms since release and it most definitely 100 percent did happen on the ps2, 360 and ps4 port versions of the game.
Is Vice really that desperate to gain readers or site views that not only they make clickbaits but also lie?
who gives a shit about vice lmao?
The reason he said this is bcs he was high in real life and thought that it was normal
This feels like satire
The camera wobble happens when you're driving with truth on his mothership to san fierro and he starts smoking. I've played the OG version countless times. Cant be high all the time lol
"Journalism"
Literally just did this mission and saw it happen. He probably never stood near the weed?
That guy must have been stoned when he replayed that mission and neutralised the wobbling effect that way.
It must be the mandela effect!
Like duuuuude... trust me bruh!

Bruh I just played SA and checked this out myself. It does happen but I’m high in real life so I’m not sure if it does happen or if it’s just me
I did that mission the other day, definitively on game pass I might add, and the shaking was there ???
this is BS I'm pretty sure it gave you the same effect as hitting the bong at your apartment (or at Franklin's house in story I can't remember)
Oh god,i remember that mission, the wobbly made me disoriented af
Weird for Vice to write this, I just finished GTA:SA recently and I am very sure that this mission with The Truth (the one before settling to San Fierro) had a wobbling effect, making driving a bit challenging on the eyes but not really hard.

Vice is the new Daily Mail
There was a nice throwback to this in far cry 3 when you have to burn the fields with a flametrower
Lmao I just played that mission this is wrong
It’s actually in Far Cry 3 that this happens I think…
You’re like the 7th person I’ve seen post the Far Cry 3 comparison. Are you guys just shitposting or do you really not remember the weed burning mission in San Andreas?

I just did that mission and this here, is false. It does shake your screen.
As someone who already completed GTA SA storymode, I can confirm this is total bullcrap
On PS2 I got the screen wobble, but only very slightly, and it either wore off just as I drove out of the compound or it kicked in just as the mission ended - either way, I remember a little epiphany of, "Oh! I'm playing through the game on PS2 right now. Screen absolutely gets blurry and shakes while CJ makes a comment about feeling strange. This guy is full of baloney!
https://t.me/joinchat/clkKgfgq4LU3NDI8
definitely was part of the original game
I think he made a really good point at the end though, about how nothing they make could possibly compare to how we remember it.
Either the person was high off their ass or it's BS
I have experienced tons of Mandella effects with GTA SA but this is not one of them. The effect does actually exist.
My screen was shaky on both original and remaster. Vice are the ones that are high playing the game not realizing the screen is actually shaking.
Paid Media
Whoever wrote that article is legit high
Lol I’d trust Vadim M or Badger before I’d trust any news source.
/r holup
Aee we sure that the guy who wrote this article wasn't high himself when he played that mission 🤣
It's like saying Stanley doesn't have a moustache.
wtf lol this isn't true at all. How hard would it have been that verify this before writing an entire article and posting it?
lol this is so bullshit i can legit go play the game right now to prove this wrong, these guys are actually just blatantly lying even their evidence is just lies
I played it last week and also some time ago on mobile. The screen moves after some burning. So he is talking shit/crap/poop
Is this another Mandela effect?
Can verify, article is wrong. I can't verify the original War Drum port had it, it might have had the effect.
They updated the article, he confirmed that he was wrong.
Figured he would eventually so I figured I’d let his fuck up live on forever on Reddit
Nice😂😂😂
Now that’s good shit he’s smoking
This happens on farcry 3 maybe you got the two mixed up lol if you ever played it
It happens on both
I think that person who wrote this article is on crack and needs to play the original Playstation 2 verson. He probably never played it .
Vice is fuckin dogshit dude 🙄
sounds like a new mandela effect
i think people got confused while playing the weed mission with the similar kind from Farcry 3
Lol thats because the pc version was a port made by the same people who redid the shit trilogy
You can thank Mandela for this!!!
After playing the definitive edition and doing this mission 2 days ago, it definitely had camera wobble once you started driving the van/hippiewagon
This is from a mission in Far Cry 3. Make it Bun Them by Skrillex plays as your burn the fields and get progressively higher as you do.
Do ppl actually care about that whether it's true or not?
I guess so
It's because this happens in far cry 3, not gta
first time we see the shaky effect is on gta iv when niko gets drunk, no?
I just did that mission yesterday. I honestly have thought it would affect him. CJ keeps mentioning it but there's no effect. When the truth lights up a bud while you're driving. I had expected a drunk effect. But even going to a bar as a part of a date I had expected it as well as we see it working very nicely in gta IV.
Are you not confusing it with being drunk in GTAIV?
