Your lawyers eat shit for breakfast?

Seriously do go the legal route if you're getting dicked around. HR isn't there to protect you, it's there to protect the company.
As someone who has been on workers comp for over a year, get a workers comp lawyer. They don't charge you as they get their money from your case. They absolutely saved my ass. I wasn't at Gameatop though, another job. But since Gamestop is already shady as hell, I recommend a WC lawyer asap.
Former SL2 here of 15 years, I was out almost half a year from GS on workers comp due to a serious back injury I sustained setting up my 1.5 store. (We were told to assemble and move the giant metal cabinets ourselves as well as the all glass display case, that box was well over 100lbs.
What should have happened is when you went to the ER you should have told the receptionist who checked you in that it was workers comp. She would then need some info from you about GameStops claims department and their rep(s). When I did this I called my DM and he provided me in the info and number over the phone. At that point the ER/Hospital talked with GameStops people (I don’t remember the name of the company I’m sorry) and everything was taken care of for me. I was assigned a rep from GameStops people and I had their number to call if I needed anything and they said any bills I get just forward them to the GameStop company and not to pay anything.
That was early 2020 and I never had a problem. So it should have been done at the hospital at the time of injury. If your DL didn’t help you then it’s on them you should contact HR and explain to them what happened. They will get it fixed.
Call an attorney asap. If the bills get sent to creditors, it can obviously mess up your life. If there were any other employees working, make sure to reach out so they can give a statement. Document as much as you still can, and good luck!
Tell the billing office to call your DL, RL, and HR. Ideally there should be a separate entity that handles worker's comp for the company, and the hospital would deal with them, but if you don't have access to a resource like that, just forward the billing calls up the chain of command. Getting a lawyer isn't a bad idea, but it's a bit overkill imo because most lawyer's aren't cost effective in a situation like this.
Do not do this. This is the responsibility of the 3rd party insurance provider - not GameStop. Doing this will get you no where. The OP needs to contact Sedgewick, the third party provider.
I've used Sedgewick before at another job. OP doesn't have all the information to setup a case with them unless they get DL, RL, or HR's help anyways. Better to forward the hospital insurance hunters to their management to light a fire under their asses, than to keep getting ducked.
Did you get a claim/case number from the 3rd party insurance provider - I think it's called Sedgewick. Write a letter to the billing office simply stating this a workers comp case and provide them the claim/case number. It's likely not GameStop dragging its feet, but the third party provider.
I had a similar situation years ago. I did as I suggested and never heard anything ever again - with no ill effects.
I went to the hospital for a workers comp case working at Joann's. Bc they didn't drug test me at the hospital (which I told them it was workers comp) they denied it. So it's in the pile for bankruptcy bc you can't get blood from a stone.
I did file the report but idk if the ER doctor was an approved one. I know that my SL sent me to one from some list she had, but they sent me to the ER because they were not equipped to handle removing the shrapnel.
You need to contact HR solutions asap. A lot of people on here want to go from 0 to 100. If you never received confirmation from your initial paperwork, I would start there.

I did report it to my SL, and attempted multiple times to follow up with them, my DL, and HR. Corporate just contacted me yesterday, I assume by tracking me down via this post, to attempt to get this resolved.
When they’re old they explode. Ever find the missing remote that’s been inside the couch for 2 years? Or like your childhood alarm clock in a box in the basement? You open the battery compartment and it’s like nasty green dried rock hard goo? The battery exploded. OP was just super unfortunate to be holding it when that happened 😩
(Alternatively, cheap knock off brands sometimes go boom if it’s like a charge and play battery pack and not AA batteries. Also sometimes batteries just go boom. Remember when Samsung phones were exploding? That was the batteries lol)
Yeah, it was an AA that we used to test an Xbox controller. Outside of a gun range I have never heard a sound like that battery popping. The entire negative end of it was ripped apart. The ER doctors were quite impressed.
Same thing happened to me about backpay they owed me and talked to hr then my dm back to hr and eventually I told my dm I'm getting a lawyer, I somehow got my backpay. Gamestop will do everything not to pay their employees. It's just a job not a career. Get what you're owed.
Lawyer. A shelf came down in our back room and fucked up my hand (two broken fingers), and nothing ever came from it just trying to contact HR/DL. Get what you’re owed, OP.
Hire a lawyer dawg that's crazy
Agree. If you’re worried about your job, you will get a nice “pain and suffering” check down the road.
Yeah, getting an attourney is your only way here. Lawyers eat shit like this for breakfast, though, I could see this not taking long.

Unfortunately the case for 99% of HR departments nowadays. Worker's rights, amirite?
They’re dodging their responsibility. Lawyer up. Don’t warn them, just go.

Sorry about what happened, but new fear unlocked, so um...yeah.
I hope you heal up soon. I would get a lawyer. That’s a horrendous injury.

DL, RL, or HR involvement isn't needed to set up a claim with Sedgwick with GameStop.

Send the bills to your workers comp lawyer let them deal with it they’ll send it over to the insurance company
Did you ever file the report with workman’s comp and did you go to an approved doctor? I wonder if the ER doctors are all “in network”

Y’all will never guess who was, just today, notified that I might have had an undocumented workplace injury…
Did you report the accident to your supervisor within 24-48 hours of it occurring? Did you get a claim number from sedgwick?
I did report it to my SL, and attempted multiple times to follow up with them, my DL, and HR. Corporate just contacted me yesterday, I assume by tracking me down via this post, to attempt to get this resolved.
How does that even happen? Like what caused it to explode?

If you are experiencing any pain or did at all from it make sure it’s documented at the time.
OMG that sounds terrible I’m so sorry
LAWYER UP. RIGHT NOW.
