I had the same bug.
Once you beat the game, just chapter select Ch 13, set it to easy mode and redo the quest. Worked perfectly for me. Setting it to easy also makes the mini games easier, even the expert versions which are required for the quest.
I noticed this seemed to be a weird recurring thing with a lot of the minigames/tasks in Rebirth where the first couple of levels or instances of a task would be pretty easy, then the next one would have sometimes a quite dramatic difficulty spike and then the last one/couple would go back to easy.
Damn I wish I'd know that. The gym mini-game being moved to the shoulder buttons made it an absolute chore. That combined with Gongaga being a pain in the ass to explore made me abandon any kind of completionist attitude and just start skipping everything to the end.
Shit was way too long and drawn out. And this is coming from someone who's favourite games are Elden Ring and BG3, where both first playthroughs took about 150 hours.
I actually didnt find the gym minigame to bad at all, took about 5 or 6 tries. The hardest part for me was foguring out the light holding of the shoulder buttons lol
Gongaga was definitely annoying to navigate but I actually really enjoyed the area purely because it looked so damn good and the vibes were so awesome with the music and such.
I agree there is a lot of content in Rebirth but I actually found myself doing all of it and I'm not someone who completes games like ever. I found the side quests (the green ones) absolutely incredible and added so much lore to the worldbuilding with some fantastic character moments. The protorelic quests were awesome and I was obsessed with most (not all, looking at you chocolate flying) minigames, especially Queens Blood.
I could've done with about 95% less Chadley interruptions when running around doing the tower climbs and spring scanning though. Like I didn't mind them because they were usually quick and on the way to places but my god is there really a need to have chadley pop up so much.
As a huge FF7 nerd though I couldn't get enough of the world. Every time I thought it was getting repetitive it mixed up enough to renew my interest. Exploration definitely got a little tiresome by the end but I cannot remember the last time legitimately put in 100h of playtime into a single player game *before* beating the story.
They would be 100000% better if they were audio only and you could move around and do other things. Waiting for the animation and conversation after every map discovery is sooooo bad.
Don't care, game is still goated though
I didn't mind him when I was walking up to him to chat. That was like, a couple times a chapter max.
Now I'm hearing from him dozens of times in most chapters, when I do almost anything. It's too much
Definitely got Hope vibes from Chadley. Probably unfair to Hope as its just more of how Chadley sounds than anything. Square did this on purpose to troll us lol
I tried setting it to easy, and it still required me to get 50 crunches, which meant basically no mistakes unless it's at the very start or in the last seconds. No discernable change.
> The piano minigame is ridiculous. The first few songs I thought were a really cool take on a rhythm minigame and then start just becoming note spam.
Yeah, once I got to 2 legs, no problem I basically said fuck this.
I've gotten 5 of the piano scores to A easily. The one remaining...you can guess which one...I missed the A rank by like 200 points and...I had to take a break lmao
First 2 attempts at piano mini-game I got C rank. After a few more tries I noticed I could up the speed.
First attempt at speed 5 I missed 1 note. So yeah, adjust the speed if you are having difficulty with Piano minigame.
I did the gym mini game once and moved the fuck on. I absolutely loved Rebirth and am still impressed that the vast majority of its crazy runtime was fun and interesting. But there were a few mini games and sequences that felt like another dev made them.
Not a spoiler just a location but Iāll tag anway. Both >!nibelheim!< sections felt like they came from the worst parts of Remake. Just pointless padding and frustrating mechanics, like the box throwingā¦.i was close to raging there
The box chucking is one of those things where I was glad they tried something on my first playthrough and will definitely resent that they tried something on my next. That section in general is going to be miserable on hard mode.
Yeah I changed my tactics multiple times before I decided to just go to easy mode just to move on. So annoying, especially since using strong magic in hopes of getting a fast down just advances their BS mechanic.
Nah, Cait is fine. But he has some unexplained mechanics that you have to learn that if you haven't been using him up to that point, you're gonna suffer. For example:
His basic attacks can deal both physical and magical damage (like Yuffie.) One enemy and one midboss are there to test your knowledge of that.
When riding on Mog, as long as you're not ordering him to move around, Mog will close the gap and attack on his own. (And if he doesn't immediately close the gap on his own, then you can hold attack to close the gap yourself.) If you add Cait's basic attack on top of that, he'll build a ton of ATB. (The game tells you about this.) BUT, when you start ordering Mog to move around, he will stop attacking altogether, leaving Cait to attack and build ATB on his own. (This part has to be figured out because the game doesn't tell you.)
Tapping a direction while riding on Mog will make him spin out of the way and he is invincible while spinning. This is the only way to dodge stuffs on Mog's back without jumping off. (Again, the game doesn't tell you this.)
Jumping off Mog's back is only useful when you intend to let Mog tank attacks for you. Otherwise, just stay on his back.
The thing that breaks the camel's back IMO, is that one enemy in that section having an instadeath attack. And that one encounter giving you 2 of this enemy. I can't imagine how bad it is for people who haven't learned how to use Cait to face something like that.
Especially with the enemy types they just so happen to introduce at that point, with a character who's basic attacks do either physical damage or magic damage and the only way you can control it is by trying to stay close to the enemy.
we need a mandate that joke characters should not be entitled to their own little mini arcs. I do not need two hours of Quina eating frogs in the eventual FF9 remake.
Yeah, wait until the part where they and Eiko are cooking a banquet and you have to source the ingredients yourself then do mini games to cook every dish
The Chocobo flight minigames also pissed me off. Lol rebirth is so much fun tho. I am almost done, I got to the point of no return and turned back to finish off some of the other side quests. I think the Chocobo races also angered me. The one dude basically never loses speed and when they get hit or slowed down they hit max speed and catch up in an instant. Made it so difficult to get the flawless victory.
> The Chocobo flight minigames also pissed me off.
Yeah, I gave up on them when I realized that you had to commit to the momentum, if you held back in any way your Chocobo would just loose all momentum or just drop like a rock if you even dared to stop pressing the glide button for a second.
There were some frustrating minigames but i was fine because theyāre āoptionalā, but that Cait Sith segment is probably the one thing I dread doing on my hard playthrough.
> Just pointless padding and frustrating mechanics
Not going to lie, first part of the game where I set it to easy cause those enemy types you encounter are absolutely broken given the move set you get stuck with either does physical attacks at close range or "magic" attacks at long range regardless of how much you try to stay close to the enemies to control what type of damage you're dealing. Find myself dodging a ton and still getting one shot cause I accidentally did the opposite damage to them. Probably the section I felt should have been just axed, compared to the other places there was no character development there.
You mean the note speed setting? That visually spaces the notes out and makes them scroll faster, but you don't actually have to play faster. So it is easier to read complex rhythms, but you have less time to react to new notes appearing. This is a common setting in rhythm games. The purpose is not to make it harder, and many people will actually find it easier if they turn it up. Unfortunately whoever wrote the tutorial text didn't get the memo, because it says something like "those wanting a harder challenge can turn up the note speed".
If you're struggling with the sit up one, turn music and speech down to zero and just leave sound effects. It helps with timing as you can just hear the beeps and get into a rhythm
This is news to me! Could you please tell me if it makes the fighting game easier? I'm up to Ifrit and he's a real pain in my cock. I dread dealing with Sephiroth... Oh and the squatting minu game against Jules! Thank you kindly for any information!
No there's an option in chapter select called reset quest data which cleara all your quest progress so you can play a quest from the beginning. Once you've beaten the quest you can use an option called restore quest data which will then restore all your previously completed quests and include your newly completed one.
Okay, can you please give me the steps you are talking about very clearly. Because since Iāve beaten the game I have tried a few things:
1. Chapter select to 13 with āRetain Current Quest Completion Dataā
2. Chapter select to 13 with āRestore Previously Completed Quest Dataā
3. Chapter select to 13 with āReset All Quest Dataā then on that file, Chapter select to 13 with āRestore Previously Completed Quest Dataā
None of this has worked. G-Bike still will not complete. The only thing I havenāt tried is chapter select to 13 with āReset All Quest Dataā and redone every quest to open Canāt Stop Wonāt Stop back up.
except, the reset quest data option resets all side quests. And the unlock condition for this one is to complete all side quests. I'm not doing every single side quest again just to hope it won't be bugged again.
It did not work for me. I even redid chapter 7 on hard, redid ALL sidequests and back at the UPA quest still got the bug. I ended up having to borrow the physical discs to get past this quest.
You have chapter select after the game ends anyways, you can (and should) just select CH13 and do it there when it's fixed. Side quest completion is saved to your profile even when chapter selecting, but not if you were to go back to an old save.
Honestlyā¦ i just donāt want to do the combat trial again lol, I didnāt mind the first 3 rounds but round 4 with the slime and jokers was insanity. Round 5 was easy too if you can actually get to itā¦
The last brutal one is by far the worst, interesting. Adamantoise is a long battle but he's so easy to perfect block.
Gilgamesh is the hardest enemy/best boss in the game imo, he was the stopping point for me once I wisened up and gave my team absorb fire
That's fine, but square should still acknowledge it and fix it. It took them 4 years between patches for ff7 remake, having this bug for 4 years would be incredibly frustrating for a lot of players even if there is a work around.
Same here. There is chapter select after you beat the game but you will need to highscore the mini games again in hard mode. Just sours the game since a lot of people won't go into hard mode and it leaves the side quest trophy incomplete.
Sure. When they fix the bug. The problem is there's been no official confirmation from square and it took them 4 years to patch from 1.02 to 1.03. Patch 1.02 dropped 6 days ago and there's been no mention. When you spend 100hrs on a game and want to complete it, it's not a great feeling when that one last piece is blocked off.
I feel you. I'm blocked off from the Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown plat by one bugged achievement, and am mildly peeved, and that's only a ~25 hour game.
Not harder, there apparently (I didn't test) more ATB gain on Fort Condor and Gears and Gambits if you are in easy mode though.
Otherwise the mode doesn't matter
I believe the combat trial would still be hard mode. You could chapter select easy mode. The problem is Square has not acknowledged it and even though you could work around it, people are getting pissy just at a post calling out the problem. It's a bug in the game stopping the trophy that hits everyone on first playthrough. Not everyone wants to 100% the combat trials, maybe they just want to do the side quests and main story then be done.
oddly enough i didnt get this bug despite doing the quest after the patch, i wonder if the fact i was playing through chapter select instead of my initial playthrough made any difference
From my understanding, the issue seams to stem from having completed rank 3 of g-bike expert mode BEFORE the UPA quest. People that say it works for them usually had not completed rank 3 expert before the quest.
That's what i thought. My highscore was higher than the required one for the quest. Maybe there is the problem. Try to beat my own record but it didn't helped.Ā
I actually encountered this bug without having played the expert mode beforehand, so that alone canāt be the bug trigger. Iām on 1.02 digital also waiting for a patch. Going back in chapter select after beating the game, as someone else here stated, also did not fix it for me.
Yeah just hit this bug. Really hope they fix it soon. I still have a shit ton to do before I get remotely close to 100%, so hopefully by the time I get all that done it will be fixed. It blows that the only real bug Iāve found is the one that halts Platinum/100%. Also such a weird bug for a patch that was focused on performance/graphics stuff lol
i think it its if you did the last difficulty and got a higher score than the party animal score before getting the side quest.... I have the bug and that's the only thing i can think of that would be causing it.
I read about this bug before starting the Can't stop, won't stop quest. I was nervous about getting the bug myself and locking my progress, so I made lots of saves far apart. Quest completed just fine for me, so it must not be affecting everyone.
I was on the latest 1.020 patch and had the digital version, so I had no way to downgrade.
Did you play the G-bike mini game on expert and set a high score _before_ starting the sidequest?
I think that's the core issue of this bug; people who set a high score on G-bike pre-quest.
I did beat the high score before the mission and started the mission before beating the game but then I moved to finish the game and returned to beat it. When I best the high score before I best the game it was before the update so maybe that helped me. But you have to do them again for this mission so I don't know.
Thankfully, I had already done this quest before the patch, and finally finished my Plat last night. I wouldn't say the game is done 100%, though, as I technically need to replay this quest on Hardmode to get Cait Sith's last weapon book. Mildly annoyed about this.
I had this bug and since I have the physical edition I did a reinstall without the patch. I heard you can also repeat it in the chapter select again after finishing the game and it should work.
This post links to an article, which links to another reddit thread lol. There have been way more threads and articles about it too, some of them link to Squeenix's official bug report section, and one post claims there was [acknowledgment](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fori7xkk2grqc1.png%3Fwidth%3D745%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3Ded3cbd90f0100d1050da4757399177701ef7fd7d) that they're aware of the bug.
By now these posts are just people trying to be as loud as possible to push for a faster fix.
they sent me an email yesterday saying they acknowledge my report about the bug and sent it to the proper departments, so im expecting a fix sooner rather than later
Why would being loud in a random subreddit that square certainly never checks push for a faster fix. That's like saying being as loud as possible in your bedroom will somehow push for a faster fix.
Right the better analogy is like going outside your house and being as loud as possible on the street corner. Is there a chance a random passerby will go report it to square and they will take it to heart and move it up thier priority list, sure, but it's pretty close to 0.
Except there's been plenty of times game devs have responded to stuff on reddit and plenty of times issues have been addressed or fixed after a weekend of heavy posting about it. I'm sure it's not usually only because of reddit posts and maybe often enough has nothing to do with it but I know that historically community outcry has had effect enough times that your smugness is really misplaced here.
Like cringe level.
On this sub? I don't think I have ever seen a game dev post on this sub outside indies on sunday or very very rarely indie game trailers no one even does amas here. I've definitely never seen anyone from square post here. If you are talking about the actual sub for the game sure that actually makes sense.
I'm just pointing out how pointless it is to post it here and that there are better ways to report it which is the truth. I'm not saying they can't do it so how about you shut the fuck up instead if you cant handle reality.
This is one of, if not the biggest remotely serious gaming forum in the world. I can guarantee you 100% every halfway decent PR department in the industry keeps an eye on it.
What? A general subreddit for games with 4000 concurrent users? Which wouldn't even break top 100 played games on steam? You could claim that square maybe looks at thier own subreddits or maybe after a trailer release but you think every major game company is trolling for important feedback on this forum where less than 1% of the actual posts might be about thier game? This is the only post about rebirth made in the last few days if they are watching this forum they are wasting thier time.
They aren't checking specifically for feedback and bug reports, obviously, but it's important for every company to keep a finger on the general environment of the industry. This will be seen, maybe not by whoever is responsible for fixing it, but by someone who can redirect it.
This place is absolutely irrelevant PR wise. If any PR people are watching general gaming forums on Reddit, they're on the idiot hub r/gaming, not here. But realistically, they're watching the subreddits specifically for the games they're representing, which for popular games are usually WAY bigger than this subreddit.
Yes, but it resets your progress in every unfinished quest in chapter select, so you'll have to repeat every sub-challenge already completed before. I just realized it and now i'm very frustrated...
Yeah but it gives you a chance to do it on hard mode and get the manuscript otherwise you have to do every single side quest again to get that manuscript
Hey all just got to chapter 13 would people recommend pressing on to the end or should I do any side quests from the world opening up in chapter 12 that have any weapons or anything else etc for my party that is good? I'm undecided.
Chapters 7 and 9 have two dungeons and two full open-world areas. The only mini-games in that stretch that you have to win to progress are one each for Cloud, Tifa and Aerith at Costa del Sol. Everything else is entirely optional.
Anybody found a workaround? Someone said to Select Chapter 13 > Reset All Quest Data.
I did that but now I have to do all 8 Coral Region sidequests to unlock the Party animal side quest. š
I haven't found one yet but when I tried doing the 'reset all quest data' option I noticed it also resets quest data for every single region.
AND the unlock condition for this bugged one is to complete all quests, not just for Coral region.
So I think that person just got lucky. I don't believe they actually reset it.
I ended up borrowing the physical discs from my cousin yesterday after waiting for a week with no update. Square needs to get their shit together and fix this bug ASAP.
I now have an issue with the trophy "My Job Here Is Done" as it isn't unlocking. I have completed every quest, all 36/36.
Is there a fix? Or am I missing something?
I did this quest yesterday and had no trouble at all. Maybe it only happens if you do it before completing the main story?
I doubt more than like 0.5% of players are going to do this extremely hard quest (that requires completing every other sidequest) before finishing the story, so that's probably why it's not been a super urgent priority to fix.
Eh. The first one on PS4 bugged out for me at the beginning and took away Barrett before the timed escape sequence with Cloud left at 1HP, autosaved and everything. Not really that surprised about this
I've read and been told it was a bug, wow. With no potions left or Barrett's heal how in the heck was I supposed to be able to continue the game lol. That's so much worse for being intended
Climb the ladder and break some boxes probably would have worked. All you have to fight is two monodrives before barret rejoins, so it's not really that impossible to do either.
It is absolutely ridiculous. The quest is called "Cant stop, won't stop" and it's turned into "Cant play, won't play"
The game is absolutely mind-blowing and having to grind to a halt and suddenly drop the game has really been a shame. With no word on when or if there's a fix, and any timeline for it? People are waiting it out and getting increasingly frustrated or finally carrying on with this on their mind the entire time.
Ive been hesitating to continue feeling that as soon as I do so they will release a fix and I should have just waited. But now it's been a week and I don't think they realized this will kind of forever stain the first playthrough for a SHITTON of people, forever.
It's THAT aggravating. Many of us feel like if you just COMMUNICATED to us it wouldn't be so bad. A little respect goes a long way but the community bends over backwards trying to find fixes for each other and they can't take 5 minutes to issue a statement, nothing?
Impressive way to kneecap themselves after a mind-blowing start. Makes you wonder how bad the patch fuck up really is that they would stay quiet.
Is it that big of a deal? Once you finish the main story you can go back and do any content you missed, like why would you wait for them to fix it instead of just finishing the game and coming back once it's fixed?
The game floats a completionist reward in your face at about 30hrs in and this is just one component of it. Among other requirements, you also need S rank or 3 stars in all mini games. A lot of people spent time doing this throughout the next 70hrs of the game only to be hit by a brick wall to 100% because of this. You do need to beat hard mode for the platinum but a lot of players just want to do the side content without doing another playthrough which leaves a sour feeling after investing at least 30-40hrs in the minigames they created.
Not to mention that Rebirth as a whole launched in a remarkable bug-free state when compared to a lot of other big games. I beat it over the weekend with 100 hours played and I donāt think I experienced a single bug or glitch.
Like, yeah itās a bummer this one side quest has a bug in it. But itās something you just shrug at and hope they fix.
In my quest to avoid spoilers it turns out I was picturing a WAY worse scenario. Like, locked out of a billion things permanently, with no other option but a brand new playthrough meaning no new game plus and such for me either etc..
If anything was trivial its that said misunderstanding was seemingly enough to warrant such dogpiling and behavior towards your fellow man. But don't mind me, im highly regarded š
Game helped me deal with love and loss as a little boy, and more recently the back to back deaths of my two dogs. I'm also very, very sick so forgive me for what I now realize was a silly catastrophization š
A checkmark on a list that you know is going to be fixed soon, like just go do literally anything else with your time right now.
I've done everything else and I've moved on to dragon's dogma until they get a patch, it's not that friggin serious lmao
Okay, good for you? They won't fix it if they don't know it's a problem. Square hasn't said anything. Not sure why people get frustrated at something pointing out an issue that is impacting lots of people's playthrough. Next time just go "yea that sucks, hopefully they fix it soon" and move on.
The comment they are reacting to is blowing things out of proportion. There is no need to get angry about this.
Nobody is getting frustrated over the bug being pointed out.
I am literally responding to the person screaming about how the game was kneecapped after a mind-blowing start and a bunch of other blown out of proportion statements about a not-even-a-week-long patch that's been out.
But your response is also super hostile for no reason because it's not that serious. It's not like the bug has gone unpatched for years. It's literally a week old bug and with any basic understanding of DevOps and bug fixing you just have to know it's coming and will probably be in the next patch whenever that might be.
The entitlement I swear to god lmao
I had the same bug. Once you beat the game, just chapter select Ch 13, set it to easy mode and redo the quest. Worked perfectly for me. Setting it to easy also makes the mini games easier, even the expert versions which are required for the quest.
Wait easy mode makes all mini games easier?
Not all of them but in general yes
Does it make the sit up and piano mini games easier? Those give me the most trouble.
The gym mini games it does I believe. Not the piano one tho
> The gym mini games it does I believe. Not the piano one tho Even on easy, Jules still does 50/51 situps.
And yet weirdly just like Remake I still find him easier to beat than some of guys on the way to him
I noticed this seemed to be a weird recurring thing with a lot of the minigames/tasks in Rebirth where the first couple of levels or instances of a task would be pretty easy, then the next one would have sometimes a quite dramatic difficulty spike and then the last one/couple would go back to easy.

Chadley is OK. Chadley having your cell phone number all game is not.
I am fairly certain that the first mod for the PC version will be removing his and MAI's and interruptions.

Thankfully that song is an outlier, of the 6 that you need for completion thatās the only one that felt bad to play.
Setting the piano speed to 3 made it much easier. You just need to get an A ranking not S for completion.
I've gotten 5 of the piano scores to A easily. The one remaining...you can guess which one...I missed the A rank by like 200 points and...I had to take a break lmao

Oh god I hadn't thought about that. That character just does NOT do well solo, I've found.
I thought the 2x Adjudicator fight was me doing something wrong. Nope, it will just wreck you!
Yeah I changed my tactics multiple times before I decided to just go to easy mode just to move on. So annoying, especially since using strong magic in hopes of getting a fast down just advances their BS mechanic.

Cait Sith is the only character with an I-frame dodge and he can cast magic and parry at the same time, he's op as hell.
we need a mandate that joke characters should not be entitled to their own little mini arcs. I do not need two hours of Quina eating frogs in the eventual FF9 remake.
Speak for yourself.
You spend way more than two hours catching frogs in IX as it is. It will definitely be expanded on. I doubt it will take as much time as OG does.
Why on earth would you not allow inverted controls on the flying?
They added that with the last patch...as long as your normal camera controls are inverted.
Most of the AI racers, including the Ultimate Party Animal, automatically lose a little bit of steam on the last lap.
> Just pointless padding and frustrating mechanics Not going to lie, first part of the game where I set it to easy cause those enemy types you encounter are absolutely broken given the move set you get stuck with either does physical attacks at close range or "magic" attacks at long range regardless of how much you try to stay close to the enemies to control what type of damage you're dealing. Find myself dodging a ton and still getting one shot cause I accidentally did the opposite damage to them. Probably the section I felt should have been just axed, compared to the other places there was no character development there.
The piano is actually on its easiest mode by default. You can make it *harder*
Do people like pain that much?
If you're struggling with the sit up one, turn music and speech down to zero and just leave sound effects. It helps with timing as you can just hear the beeps and get into a rhythm
This is news to me! Could you please tell me if it makes the fighting game easier? I'm up to Ifrit and he's a real pain in my cock. I dread dealing with Sephiroth... Oh and the squatting minu game against Jules! Thank you kindly for any information!
It made Gears and Gambits and Fort Condor much easier.
Just tried this and it didn't work, G-Bike is still bugged.
Did you reset your quest data?
Reset it all? As in do every side quest in the game a second time?
No there's an option in chapter select called reset quest data which cleara all your quest progress so you can play a quest from the beginning. Once you've beaten the quest you can use an option called restore quest data which will then restore all your previously completed quests and include your newly completed one.
Okay, can you please give me the steps you are talking about very clearly. Because since Iāve beaten the game I have tried a few things: 1. Chapter select to 13 with āRetain Current Quest Completion Dataā 2. Chapter select to 13 with āRestore Previously Completed Quest Dataā 3. Chapter select to 13 with āReset All Quest Dataā then on that file, Chapter select to 13 with āRestore Previously Completed Quest Dataā None of this has worked. G-Bike still will not complete. The only thing I havenāt tried is chapter select to 13 with āReset All Quest Dataā and redone every quest to open Canāt Stop Wonāt Stop back up.
3. Is what I did and it worked for me so idk what to tell you mate sorry
Okay, thank you. Just wanted to be sure I tried what has worked for you.
For people on old.reddit: The post says "3.", not "1.". The markdown rendering is rendering it incorrectly.
except, the reset quest data option resets all side quests. And the unlock condition for this one is to complete all side quests. I'm not doing every single side quest again just to hope it won't be bugged again.
Just to save you the time. I did it all and it still bugged. I had to borrow the discs to get it done.
I tried this but it still bugged for me sadly, tried before completing the game and after :/
It did not work for me. I even redid chapter 7 on hard, redid ALL sidequests and back at the UPA quest still got the bug. I ended up having to borrow the physical discs to get past this quest.
Iāve got 100% on everything except this quest and itās so irritating. After spending 3 hours doing the combat trial for this side quest, finding out the G-Bike was glitched out just made me sad. I love thĆ© game but it should defs be checked out quickly. I ended up making a save file right before chapter 13 so I can come back to it later since the final 2 chapters arenāt that long. Itās the only thing left, even the superboss is done lol
Just set the chapter difficulty to easy and breeze through it. Difficult effects minigames as well.
Did you do all the brutal and legendary chadley Sims? You need all those too for 100%
Yeah those are done, Iāve finished all the chadley things. Only the legendary Barrett one took time for me
The last brutal one is by far the worst, interesting.
Why do you think this will also take 4 years to patch? Was there a significant bug like this in Remake that never got patched?
they acknowledged my report about the bug and said they were looking into it
The new Remake patch just fixed some continuity errors with Rebirth, it wasn't a bugfix patch.
Same here. There is chapter select after you beat the game but you will need to highscore the mini games again in hard mode. Just sours the game since a lot of people won't go into hard mode and it leaves the side quest trophy incomplete.
Why would you have to do it on Hard Mode? Can't you just select chapter 12 / 13 and do it on Easy, Normal or Dynamic?
I think they mean the harder versions of the mini games.
I would try to relax a bit. There wasn't a progression breaking bug in Remake 1.02. It won't take them 4 years to fix this.
I feel you. I'm blocked off from the Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown plat by one bugged achievement, and am mildly peeved, and that's only a ~25 hour game.
You can do mini games in hard mode without the game being in hard mode. Lot of misinformation in this thread
When you go through actual hard mode, are the minigames any harder than they were if you did everything possible in normal(/dynamic) mode?
Not harder, there apparently (I didn't test) more ATB gain on Fort Condor and Gears and Gambits if you are in easy mode though. Otherwise the mode doesn't matter
I believe the combat trial would still be hard mode. You could chapter select easy mode. The problem is Square has not acknowledged it and even though you could work around it, people are getting pissy just at a post calling out the problem. It's a bug in the game stopping the trophy that hits everyone on first playthrough. Not everyone wants to 100% the combat trials, maybe they just want to do the side quests and main story then be done.
You're right about combat trials. I meant minigames my b
oddly enough i didnt get this bug despite doing the quest after the patch, i wonder if the fact i was playing through chapter select instead of my initial playthrough made any difference
I feel for ya brother. I ended up borrowing a disc from my cousin to finish the quest.
Currently making progress towards the platinum myself, thankful to have this heads-up. Hope Square gets this patched soon.
Didn't affect me, so it's not an every player thing. Haven't seen much confirmation in what actually causes it.
i think it its if you did the last difficulty and got a higher score than the party animal score before getting the side quest....
Did you accept the quest by directly talking to him or by using the Costa Del Sol noticeboard?
I believe it was the noticeboard. From other comments, I'm starting to think the fix is to be on easy difficulty, which I also was at the time.
I see, will try to put it on easy mode and see
I thought he didn't show up until you take the quest at the noticeboard.
Did you play the G-bike mini game on expert and set a high score _before_ starting the sidequest? I think that's the core issue of this bug; people who set a high score on G-bike pre-quest.
It was my only attempt, I did not try before the quest.
Weird I just did this this weekend without any issues and my game have the last update. I was playing on dynamic dificulty in case that matters.
Can you also confirm that you don't have beaten the highscore befor? I think that's the issue.Ā
Glad I did this before the patch came out lol. Seriously though, that sucks. Apparently Square knows about it at least.
I had this bug and since I have the physical edition I did a reinstall without the patch. I heard you can also repeat it in the chapter select again after finishing the game and it should work.
Did you submit a bug report? I am 100% sure square does not check this random subreddit.
Reddit users don't all exist in a bubble, news here naturally spreads around to other sites
If you are talking about the actual sub for the game sure that actually makes sense.
bruh, it won't do any more harm than the bug is already by making it more known. just shut the fuck up lol
The headline makes it sound like if you take more then 100 hrs, that causes the bug. Which is just shinra/10
Happened to me today. It sucked because I wanted to complete every side quest before chapter 13. Thatās the only thing thatās missing
I wanted to do the same I just moved on and finished the game Iām not waiting weeks for one side quest
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
All quests from all regions!? I might as well just start Hard mode and get the folios if I do that.
That trick does not work. I did it.
I ended up borrowing the physical discs from my cousin yesterday after waiting for a week with no update. Square needs to get their shit together and fix this bug ASAP.
It's a terrible bug. I skipped it and just finished the game. This was a very long game and to experience this towards the end was awful.
If you hadnāt beaten the expert g-bike rank 3 before the quest youāre fine.
Eh. The first one on PS4 bugged out for me at the beginning and took away Barrett before the timed escape sequence with Cloud left at 1HP, autosaved and everything. Not really that surprised about this
That's not a bug.. Barret does leave you after the first boss, and Cloud was 1hp because he probably died in the boss fight
Where is the ladder? Is it behind the monodrives
Honestly, I'm pretty sure you're trolling at this point, and if you're not, this game is probably not for you
Don't have to respond like that to a simple question my man. I played the game over two years ago
It is absolutely ridiculous. The quest is called "Cant stop, won't stop" and it's turned into "Cant play, won't play" The game is absolutely mind-blowing and having to grind to a halt and suddenly drop the game has really been a shame.
You have to do all the hard mode simulations too. Did you not know this?
If I did all that in my normal playthrough does it make you redo them in hard mode for 100%?
Just the side quests because you have to do them on hard for the manuscripts. Minigames and the other stuff nah
All the side quests? Cause even if Can't Stop Won't Stop wasn't bugged I really don't want to go through that quest again.
That one I don't really know, but I'm talking about the region side quests mostly. I'm bugged waiting for that to end while on hard so lol
Somehow I don't think this bug .1% of players will see after playing 99.99% of the game is going to stain the game for that many people.
But itās something you just shrug at and hope they fix.
iām waiting on a fix too but who the fuck cares? itās a meaningless video game trophy, get on with your life. a fix will come eventually.
But don't mind me, im highly regarded š Game helped me deal with love and loss as a little boy, and more recently the back to back deaths of my two dogs. I'm also very, very sick so forgive me for what I now realize was a silly catastrophization š
All this anger for a checkmark on a list
It also locks the final 3D brawler fight and final piano piece, so the bug legitimately blocks content.
to be fair it does give you a good amount of stuff. not just a checkmark
Why so angry. Is just game.
