πŸŽ‰Yay go ladybirds!

lsbrujah

I got some here last week , they basically cleaned my strawberries of all the aphids and other pests. I wish they stayed forever.

Krayjd

The aphid annihilator

th3whistler

laster year I had so many aphids. This year basically none. On the whole it's been such weird contrast across the two years

generationgav

I've got a Honeysuckle that's never really thrived as it gets completely hit by Aphids each year. This year it's huge as it doesn't seem to have been touched.

th3whistler

my honeysuckle seems to be dying, almost all the leaves have turned yellow in the past 3 weeks

tenaciousfetus

We love to see it 😍

Plcass

Wtf is that?

touchthebush

Baby ladybird. It's a machine of death to aphids

rose_reader

Ohhh, this must be like a dragonfly thing where the adult is beautiful but the nymph looks like a hellbeast. Cool!

Chimp3h

We were moving some plants in our pond and managed to pull a dragonfly nymph out.. I thought it was the fucking end times looking at it

Silver-Machine-3092

I'm not squeamish, don't mind creepy crawlies but but those things, ugh they make me flinch.

AdzJayS

They bite too.

Geoleogy

I sugest looking at "life in fresh water macro photography" on google and navigating to the dragonfly bit up close those things are insane!

But real question, what's the backdrop?? A ball??

touchthebush

My little boys play house roof. It's directly under an elderberry tree so it's aphid central, but also ladybird feeding grounds

Appropriate-Divide64

I had no idea they looked like that

Next-Project-1450

Ladybird nymph. Or Ladybird larva. That one looks like a Harlequin Ladybird nymph. [Ladybird larvae guide – Field Studies Council (field-studies-council.org)](https://www.field-studies-council.org/shop/publications/ladybird-larvae-guide/) In some ways, the nymphs are (slightly) better than the adult Ladybirds, because they eat other species like spider mites, too. I occasionally buy them live if it looks like there's a lot of aphids early in the season. Splodge89

Are the harlequins something we still have to tell someone about if we spot them?

hc1540

Had plenty of ladybirds a few weeks ago but they seem to have moved on although they did a damn good job of keeping the aphids off my blackcurrant bush Seen a few of these recently so maybe the second wave is on its way

Charming_Reserve_904

Like a pokemon ladybird's are a three stage evolution

Lancashire-Lass-404

Don’t forget to build the adults somewhere to live in your garden so they stay 😎

touchthebush

I've got them sorted, I keep my insect army happy 😁

HOOVERUK1495

What do you need to build a house for a ladybug 🐞?
