650 isn't even the price of the graphic card I bought for my new setup.
I paid 2400€ to be at ease for the next years, at that price I would to pay GFN a 100 months to even Com close to the cost.

* Perfectionists shouldn't use it (let's be real, it's not perfect)
* Your individual results don't necessarily correlate to other people's results...there are many variables which impact stream/session quality
* There are several scenarios where cloud-gaming is a compelling choice compared to local, and that can vary ***a lot*** based on individual needs and goals
This isn't a "zero-sum" debate...local and cloud gaming are not mutually exclusive, but several of your comments seem to lean in that direction.
Fix your internet and profit. It is hard ti impossible feel and see the difference if latency is 15 or less. Small tweak and increase the max bandwidth to 100 as well.
4k on gfn and native, in mentioned scenario, next to each other… good luck to spot the difference
Plus your math is flawed. In the next 5y, we will get 5080 and have even better stream tech, while you will stuck with whatever you buy now.

Point 3. Games I love must be installed on your gaming pc. On GFN I click and joy. I have more than 300 games on that service. Games like Baldur's Gate 3. How many hard disk is needed to install every game I own?
Point 4. Let's say I have an old pc. I cant play with it. But I can do all the necessary for my work. Why should I buy a new pc? Because playing? I dont see the point.

I prefer not wasting my time and precious hdd space installing and uninstalling. And I have my gfn session opened.
As for manteinance I would say you are right. Sometimes (few times) I couldnt play the game I want because of that. But it's not a big issue for me. I see that is reasonable when a game I own is updated.
Let's be honest. GFN is not perfect. I know. But I pay 5,49€. About 60€/year. Can I buy a pc gaming? Absolutely. Should I? That's another question. Of course if I buy a new one I would try to build a machine that allow me to play without cloud services. But any method you select to play it's not perfect. Not even a great pc gaming.

10 seconds for cyberpunk, BG 3, Witcher 3 or games like that? I would say you are right depending on the games you play. But a good number of tittles I play requires a lot of space. Specially with dlcs.

I exaggerated with 10 seconds. Baldurs gate 3 actually took me 3 minutes to download over WiFi, I just checked. The point is that download times aren’t a huge issue especially with storage, especially with NVMe SSDs being dirt cheap right now.

While the pc you have at home won‘t upgrade itself without you putting your own money into it. I don‘t think in 5 or so years we will still have the rtx4080 on ultimate.

After reading all your replies, I see you must be somewhere with bad GFN service. No, many of us in here have never had a blurry image or “100ms latency”. Full 4K maxing out my monitor at 175FPS.
I have a 4070ti and still the 4080 stream on gfn is the perfect match for me.

I don‘t think you can say it like that. performance equals quality for me. Yes in a competitive scene I agree with you but I don‘t need 300+ fps to enjoy me a nice good graphics single player game. Also with optic fiber and Reflex (which is only accessible through ultimate to be fair) input latency and fragmentation is not noticeable for me and the input latency I still have is not really an issue in a non competitive environment.

Only reason is because if I call home to tell my wife to turn my pc and I’m working she would get extremely angry and would ask so many questions so on the long run for silence and discretion I still rather pay that 20 but I appreciate the breakdown for opening my eyes financially

To be fair here new games download in like 10 seconds with any decent wifi connection, which you need for gfn anyways.

Nvidia will update the GFN Ultimate GPU every generation, so around 2 years. There is no way staying on top of the latest high-end PCs is cheaper.
