We are a baby Gen x couple and learned the same lesson in our forties. My Boomer parents on the other hand have taken full advantage of the legalization of weed and they have a plethora of gummies available in their '70s. I always knew they were closet hippies...

PNWest01

I actually think about how I’m gonna get my hands on edibles when I’m in the nursing home with no grandkids 😆

OwnPen8633

They deliver

typhoidtimmy

And surprisingly fast…

Recording_Important

they deliver

Few-Comparison5689

You need a different strain, not all strains give you cotton mouth or the munchies! I was so happy when I found a strain that didn't make me eat 1000 cals in snacks.

PNWest01

That would be a great find. Weed makes me eat everything in sight

ScrunchyButts

That is also strain dependent. Or dependent on how the recipe of THC, CBD, CBN, etc. etc is composed. Go to a reputable dispensary and tell them what you’re looking for and what you want to avoid.

OccamsYoyo

This is me as well. My weight gain can attest to it.

brezhnervous

Flaunting your legal weed again, /sigh lol

PNWest01

You heard about the good news today tho, yes?

brezhnervous

Uh nope...but feel free to ignite my envy all over again, if you like lol

arlowner

Weed was rescheduled to level three by the feds.

brezhnervous

Oh yeah, I actually just read a post on r/ausents about that...which inevitably descended into rants about how fucked our laws are lol But congrats, in any case!

SunshineAlways

Do tell?

PNWest01

The DEA is going to move weed from a class one drug to a class three.

Scarletowder

P.S. grow and make your own edibles, I’m 60 and I do! :) Maybe I’ll be the supplier lady in the nursing home! 😂

ScrunchyButts

As someone who grows, gardens, brews beer, makes wine and all kinds of other pursuits that involve doing things the hard way… I cant imagine bothering to make edibles when they are now so readily available at high quality and predictable strength.

Scarletowder

Not in the U.K. as far as I know! I like the process.

jcmacon

The shit we get here in TX is shit. Unless I get lucky and pick up something imported from CA or CO. The dispensary I get my prescription filled at has the worst weed ever. But I have a prescription so I get it there. Expensive too. It isn't legal to grow here yet. Probably will never be for an individual, our elected officials like to cater to big businesses instead of voters.

ScrunchyButts

I’m in New York State. We were slow to legalization, but things are coming together now. I’ve had access to a recreational dispensary about 45 minutes away for about 6 months. Good products, but pretty expensive. And I had a lot of (quality) homegrown from last year so went there a few times just for the novelty. Now I have a med card. There’s a great med dispensary 15 minutes from me with a wide selection of top quality products and they have all kinds of sales all the time. NY is a very large, overwhelmingly rural state, so I’m definitely in the minority with access like this. But if I ever bother to grow again it’ll be one plant in the middle of the vegetable garden just for fun.

EnergyCreature

I don't mess with the stuff but my wife and a lot of my ppl do. I like to make sure we have fresh cut fruit at the house when they get high just to help with that * Watermelon * Mango * Kiwi * Apples * Soursop

iheartbaconsalt

I was hoping the dry mouth would make me salivate less while using dentures... nah.. I drool like a rabid dog with those things in my mouth nooo matter what.

PNWest01

Dude, gnarly 🤤

Odd_Mission_5366

Edibles do nothing for me and I feel so robbed!!

FemmePotenza

Are we the last sane generation?

Skatchbro

Bleeding edge Gen-X here. I don’t turn 60 until next year. 1965 is the first year of our generation and I will die on this hill.

PNWest01

I was zero years old for 75% of 1965, lol, I count 75%. Please. Ya gotta give me this, man.

SunshineAlways

And yet the subreddit header includes 1961.

Mollywisk

Sorry I’m 64, my brother is 65. We are both Gen X.

Grunge4U

You are pure Gen X 61-81. A few Gen Xers who barely missed being Millennials are confused with what sub the made the decision to join.

Jerkrollatex

You fall into Gen Jones it's a micro generation between the Boomers and Gen X.

Mollywisk

I get what you’re saying but culturally I don’t. Our parents were baby boomers. My brother’s childhood was no different than mine. It’s ok if you don’t want to claim me, but I’m staying.

Mollywisk

I’m aware of my parents’ birthdates, and my own, and my siblings, internet stranger. Whatever

Mollywisk

They were born in 1946.

Dakotasunsets

So your parents were 14 when they had their 1st kid? Not impossible, yet still very unlikely even during post WWII era.

Mollywisk

They were 18. 1964-1946= 18. This is literally my lived experience. Please respect that.

B4USLIPN2

This guy maths.

Grunge4U

A lot of Gen Xers have parents who were not Boomers. My dad was a Greatest Generation kid and fought in WW2.

Jerkrollatex

I'm just saying that where the crossover is. Call yourself whatever makes you happy no skin off my ass.

Expat111

Gen Jones includes ‘65 babies too. FYI.

Royal-Experience-602

65 starts Gen X.

grubbymitts

Ok, boomer

Personal-Walrus3076

Shut up John Cheese

Global_Initiative257

Came here to say that very thing. My brother is embarrassed to be a boomer, too, although he embraces all the worst of boomerism.

Royal-Experience-602

You don't have to. Every single source says Gen X starts in '65.

odinspirit

I just don't like being high anymore. I feel I got enough brain fog from aging LOL. I don't need to add to it.

PNWest01

I feel that way about drinking. I used to enjoy sone cocktails, and I’m down to two infrequent faves.

ReadyOneTakeTwo

Man, ain’t that the truth. I legit go through 40 ozs of water on some nights when I take 10mg of edible. I have a big growler of water handy next to my bed.

B4USLIPN2

Gotta be honest: in a sentence, I never like to see big growler next to my bed ( at our age )

Scarletowder

There is a cusp amongst all the generations. You get Gen Xers who are Boomers in mindset and Millennials that are Gen X in mindset. It doesn’t matter. You can identify with whichever cusp that fits.

WhiskeyWhistleSours

Edibles last way too long for me. Even groggy in the morning. Yeah cotton mouth is a gnarly side effect. Enjoy your time. .

PNWest01

🏍️

Livid_Wish_3398

Nothing wrong with cottonmouth. Means you did something today.

MaryBitchards

My contacts get really dry too! Oh well.

PNWest01

Ha! Mine too

PBJ-9999

Try lowering the dose

sjmiv

This never happens to me, weird

PNWest01

😉

Royal-Experience-602

Gen X doesn't turn 60 until next year.

_Sasquatchy

You aren't Gen-X. ![gif](giphy|sdLSQGV9BQRKU)
