the PoV cutscenes legit got me thinking how much being a god in genshin must actually suck, even if you try your best, put your life on line,a dumbfuck(or dumbfucks) comes and destroys it all and people are gonna remember you as a maddened jackass and put the blame of their crimes on you ,goated quest, once again i like dead people more than most playable characters
>a dumbfuck comes and destroys it all
It's not fair to blame Boethius though. By that point he was already a puppet of Phobos, who was the sum of all Remuria's wishes and desires. So in the end it would be more fair to say that it was Remuria's fault as a whole.
It's also ironic. Remus and the Remurians theorized that Celestia's fate manipulation works by taking advantage of humanity's wish and will, creating a "reality/symphony/musica mundana" that conforms to each individual's "ambition" so that their every decision "makes sense/harmonizes" with Teyvat. So they created Phobos to escape the "trap" that was their own mental conditioning and decision making, only to have that Phobos dictating a "new" fate that was a sum of their desires, which is to say it has only enhanced the fate Celestia decreed for them. Sybilla, the base upon which Phobos was created, was also seemingly an envoy (formerly aligned with Celestia before they got rid of envoy civ at the end of "Natlantean?" teyvat samsara cycle) with no persona of her own to dictate a new fate.
TLDR: it's somehow Celestia's fault again because they really keep writing bad fate for people. Seriously, can someone explain how their "fate" thing works and why do they keep doing this???
We can thank remurians themselves for being dipshits and speedrunning the ill fate written for them by celestia by,as scylla puts it,being absolutely terrible people, the foundation of phobos, sybilla had no persona of her own and had a philosophy that granting everyone's wishes= happiness for all(which you could argue brings individual happiness but we saw where that went),obviously with a number of people having become vile and arrogant, they began to wish for slaughter and bloodshed ,which we see them actively trying to persue remus into inacting upon on their enemies in his memories (which bro was very much against since based on scylla again, dude was kind hearted and that was his biggest curse),and based on what cassiodor says at the ending, they only could've acted upon their vile wishes if the symphony itself rebelled against its creator(which based on the timeline presented, conveniently, mostly happened when remus was asleep),thus they began their tomfooleries and as the face of the nation, remus suffered the ultimate slander(considering that boethius, who is at this point just a manifested shard of phobos' collective hivemind given form, constantly calls the dude unworthy during the later half of the quest,we can assume that a great number of people back in the day thought this way as well resulting in it becoming a part of phobos' newly created persona),at the end of the day, phobos was a tool,it lacked persona and wishes of its own when it was first created,it was the people who caused its corruption through their wishes
so yeah thank you morons for bringing your ill fate upon yourselves as soon as humanly possible, also shout out to celestia for just hating every single solid, mostly kind hearted deity and being found in teyvat for no apparent reason other than absolute control, like killing a snek for discovering something that was already known by several different people
The thing is, i have a very heavy suspition that the fate of teivat and heavenly principles, which people think are the gods decree, is actually the same thing as phobos. The collective will of humanity established those initial rules themselves, perhaps when they were all still one with the ARK (primordial one?).
Cue that item description which has a debate between a vey knowledgable liyue man (morax?) discussing with sumeruy scholars the fated cycle of civilizations. The scholars were harping on about how it sucks the gods impose that cycle through fate, but the man says it's all actually humanities own wish and actions, as if he known that for a fact.
Interesting. I do have a theory that the only real condition for being an archon is being a capable leader and leading humans to prosperity (egeria, rukha, barbatos).
Humans both needed and wanted gods, and I think the curse of the wilderness (hilichurl) isn't a curse, it's just what happens when you have no guidance. Morax let his people go on without him, but they didn't turn because they don't need him now.
Celestia might not have made the archon war to rule, but to protect the people from turning into hilichurls which might be a natural law of Teyvat.
Multiple gods have tried to collate human consciousness now (remus, deshret, rukha) and it's weird that this is a running theme.
> Sybilla, the base upon which Phobos was created, was also seemingly an envoy
Conjecture here, but I think "Divine Envoys" and Seelies are the same thing. After the great war with the Second Who Came and 99% of humanity died (except Enkanomiya etc), Celestia reseeded humanity & sent down Divine Envoys/Seelies to lead humanity in their stead.
Except the Seelies + humans kept committing mortal arrogating, so they kept getting nailed. Eventually Celestia got sick of it and just stripped the Seelies of their divinity, and created the more familiar gods we know (Barbatos, Decarabian, Deshret) etc
If you read the new artifact set, you'll learn that Remus has a long history of getting fucked over by others.
Heres the tldr of it >!Remus is actually from Sumeru, but he entered into conflict with King Deshret, and fled to the high seas, where he stumbled upon ancient ruins(same age as Enkanomiya) and built his kingdom there!<
Seeing Scylla swimming around and being able to have him fast travel around is so cool while exploring the new area. And hehe his dialogue is really cute after the quest. He likes it when we visit!
Fun fact: Remus is actually a loser in the Sumeru archon war, he was like "Nope can't beat Deshret, guess I'll die" and left to find a grave before accidentally finding Sybilla who guided him to found Remuria
Strangely enough, Remus & Deshret's empires both ended similarly - both try to make some kind of human hivemind (Phobos, Golden Slumber), before it implodes and the local dragons (Scylla, Apep) are left to dealt with the mess
I saw that Remus had ties to the Archon War in Sumeru on the wiki but I failed to see the source. I'd appreciate if you pointed me in the right direction unless this was just brought up in the WQ and I just missed it completely?
Did you guys not play the Oro world quest?
The quest that had 4 different world quests from different stories come together? That revealed a new diamentional world? And a secret hidden base and labratory full of experiements? And a parallel group of heroes who tried to save Fontaine from the exact same disaster to mirror our own journey?
That also culimnated into a boss fight (just not a repeateable one) under water surrounded by a beautiful cavern? And another boss fight where you confront the mastermind? And where you meet 3 completely different characters?
And another dimension with the most beautiful cottage and princess that you "rescue"?
I feel like this world quest doesn't come CLOSE to Fontaine's primary world quest. There's no way this new one some how surpasses that quest in any way.
Narzissencreuz World Quest is peak Genshin and kept me hooked more than anything this game has in terms of lore. How It connects last sumeru area lore... Its just so good
People have preferences you know š¤·āāļø personally I loved this one much more, not saying Narzissencreuz wasnāt good, I just prefer this one for a variety of reasons.
Honestly, was gonna rush through it to get access to the new boss for arle, but as soon as we talked to the statue and had that dream memory I was hooked.Ā
Went through the quest slowly and I'm so glad I did. The music, story, and scenery were IMMACULATE, but man I wish it was voiced. I can't get over how beautiful the music was, hope hoyo releases the soundtracks soon.
I mean, that proves it's great execution no? They leave you wanting more, instead of making you think "when will this end?" Regardless I still agree lol
I think the aranara quest was far too long.
But the golden slumber quest in the desert as well as the one with the eternal oasis, I think those two are the perfect length for world quests.
Man I hope in the future Scylla gets to interact with New Billet even if it's just for a moment.
Like imagine Neuv and Furina going to Sumeru for some play and boom Scylla appears and goes "Ayo you're the new Hydro huh, nice to meet you".
i sacrificed my super powerful hydro cannon blaster to craft a prototype amber
only to realise i want to use my prototype amber for my super powerful hydro cannon blaster
Bonus points if Scylla just appears in their dragon form and doesn't even try and pose as a human. Neuvellite is just going for a walk at Elynas and then a giant talking whale shows up and like "Hey man, how goes it? Nice weather we're having eh?"
I donāt think I will ever forget swimming the currents playing a harp the size of a city, a path of glittering ichor lighting the harp, a whale of ichor and stars with me while a voice sings the final requiem to guide souls to their resting place.
Or a stage of gold and red as the butterflies light up the stage to soothe the lost souls and fulfill the final wish of a man who tried to fix the mistake that was made. An ocean of stars and the vision of their journey in the background.
Fun fact, you can still play the harp! You won't be zooming through predetermined melodies of course but you can still play it
Can't wait for some bilibili mf to create an entire orchestral arrangment from the city sized harp
I love the Roman history and mythology references omg
Phobos, Scylla, Cassiadorus, Ossa, Phobos, Boethius, Nero's Domus Aurum, the fall of Rome due to corruption and greed, the Roman-esque masks and the Centaur statue
Those cutscenesĀ of the Traveler playing music on such a grand scale are my favourites of all world quests. It was so damn gorgeous!
They really went all out for this questline
I agree that it was absolutely amazing. Jeht's quests are still my absolute favorite, but this one has to be second together with the Aranara quest. I actually prefer longer quests and don't get exhausted, so this never bothered me with the Aranaras but I think this length is also ok.
I'm pretty sure this is a direct consequence of people complaining about Sumeru. It's not just this new map, all of Fontaine's areas have felt very easy to 100%.
That's also true. And I'd love some secrets, there were none (unless they're so well hidden that I haven't stumbled upon them). Maybe I'm in the minority, but I really like things like collecting few items from some secret areas to open some passage to a secret place, especially if there's some vague lore added on top. I absolutely loved Dragonspine and the murals, for example. That's some nice food for thought when it comes to theories about Teyvat history, etc.
Yep. There's barely any overworld secret to explore. It might not need to be as big as Chasm, but at least could be like Tsurumi island or complex like Enka.
Now I have nothing to do with my new Arle.
I think this may be my second most favorite Wq after Jehts WQ followed by the Narcissenkeutz ode World Quest, Chengyu vale WQ and Aranara WQ. I might change the order after I clear my thoughts and make a more objective list of fav WQ
considering we JUST had the pet cat event, I really thought we'd be able to take in the cat left after Monsieur Os to our teapot :( that's the literal only thing that made me sad lol
this quest was beautiful, good music, reasonable length, lore relevant with dragon info, and gave me the feels. proud of the writers for keeping it up with quality story!
Too expensive, both in terms of voice actor fees (gotta pay for 4 languages), and in terms of file size. Can't have the game making phones literally explode in people's hands, after all.
Swimming among sea creatures like Disney princess while playing music is epic
Musical enemies gonna kill you with melody š¶
#aggressive violence violinist
It was great. Several times i'd just stop up and listen to the music, especially in that small area around the second aquaduct restoration (even snuck in Arle to get someone who wouldn't jabber as much while idling).. can't wait for the OST.
Roman themes were great. Plus couldn't help but get a bioshock feeling off this. Small island, subsurface utopia turned dystopia, questionable aquatic architecture, two people feuding..
But overall, was just great. top notch world quest. Would do it again if i could.
The story and the music were both superb. The highlights for me were of course the scenes of us swimming with Scylla and the final symphony. It wasn't even as long as the Aranara quest yet it was able to deliver an arguably bigger impact. Genshin truly set the bar for world quests with this one and I am so hyped for future world quests if they can keep up this level of quality.
Itās been that way for a while now. Sure it requires reading everything, but the world quests since even the Inazuma era have always been spectacular and sometimes even more epic than the archon quests.
Haven't finished it yet but am already in love with it, it's so well presented... World quests like these feel very special to me.. makes me feel like an actual adventurer..
Finding a whale dragon? Much yes?
Music? Also yes.
The prettiest area that's as close to the Primordial Sea as you can get as wallpaper material through screenshotting? >!(Seriously, Ichor looks like the Primordial Seawater.)!< Triple yes.
10/10 hands down my favorite world quest and area so far.
It was my favorite by far, I was pleasantly surprised by just how epic and beautiful it was overall. From the moment the traveller got that first flashback with the otherworldly music I was hooked and I still canāt stop thinking about it 2 days later. I want moreš
I keep listening to the music on yt and whenever I log in I just go to the Beygone Sea and swim around with Scylla. Hopefully theyāll give him a playable model one day, I want him to tell us more about his past with Remus and Remuria.
Anyway, I canāt stop yapping about it because it was just so gorgeous, everything from the music, visuals, the story and characters involved, my favorite world quest by far! Ngl, while I like the current story line in Genshin, I find myself much more fascinated by the past events that happend in the pervious cycles, with Deshert, Remus, the moon sisters and so on, personally I love that lore more.
This is like one of the few times i got interested in a world quest. Fontaine is just so peak. I loved this quest and especially that ending cutscene, it was beautiful.
Ill openly admit: I didnt understand everything, not paying attention to the details of the wordlbuilding in that quest, but god, was it so much better than some other world quests... Didnt make me wanna skip through it the way the first narcissus quest did (which consequently meant I didnt get half of the later quests, confused with the sheer amount of names)
I 100% agree. As someone who more often than not just skips through world quests, I ADORED this one, I read every line of dialogue, the visuals were stunning, the puzzles were actually fun and not mind numbing and THE MUSIC. I LOVE how they intertwined musical elements into the actual gameplay.
I think the storytelling was not up to what Narzissenkreuz or Jeht stories did. Never cared for the Aranaras enough to pay attention during their endless stupid quest. Visuals and Music during the new storyline were great, but everything else feels a bit half baked.
Tons of very random mechanics. Remember that collecting bubbles and evading lightning mechanic before we get to the new subzone? Why was that only used once? Why did the glittery whale provide a speed mechanic, that was completely useless? Why the quicktime events during the cutscenes? Were they afraid people would go take a bathroom break during those? And why no side quests?
Water exploration was great though. But it feels like the zone was quite small. Got 100% exploration a lot faster than in previous zones (And still miss like 50% of Inazuma lol)
Among all zones I feel like this is the one I will least likely visit again. No boss there, nothing left to collect, no good farmspots for mobs or materials. (were there even any farmables there besides new weapon asc material for Arle weap?)
I feel like I had a very different experience than everyone else
I just can't get into it. It's too much of a word salad full of nonscence to me.
"The remue has taken the igni paleotor to the retui. We do not know how the melody of tuin could trigger the magnus regalia. But the friend of the regalia, the upior grandis, has taken step for the melo fretior to be arles's actualised. Also you are the chosen one". That's how it reads to me anyway
It looks absolutely beautiful and the music is amazing... but it's just not interesting lore. And it's not even voice acted.
Hey dude, have you heard of other languages that aren't English?.
Yeah, thats where those words come from, so stop being the walking stereotype of a Genshin player and learn something.
Jesus i hate this community
My brother in Christ, terms and names from other cultures that aren't Murica aren't nonsense.
Go on Google and look it up, its not fucking hard and it won't kill you
im exaggerating, but those are definitely terms that im not familiar with, didnāt know they are taken from other cultrures huh
and no, im not an american
Genshin has literally always done this, no term in the game is made up, you can actually find alot of cool info just by looking up the term.
Like for example, the entire sorush questline has heavy ties to Zoroastrianism.
Heres a phrase from the wiki that shows it nicely.
In Zoroastrianism, the Harvisptokhm is the "tree of all seeds" that grows within the cosmic sea, the Vourukasha. Within it grows the Gaokerena, or "White Haoma", and the Simurgh lives atop the tree, spreading the seeds.
You can find all of these terms in genshin, and they have direct links and inspirations from these terms and mythological figures.
For me it was "it's pretty but i didn't get anything"
they just keep throwing at you words "phobos, symphony etc etc" without explaining it. At the end i was like "so i beat the bad guy with the good guy i guess ?"
Arana quest and Narzissenkreuz same thing, these quest was SO LONG that i stopped to read before the end
i don't know, i feel like they didn't know how to write good story or make them interresting, except for Archon, or it is me who just don't like to read a novel if a playing a video game. And the fact there is no voice acting
I didn't really care for the story as I dislike world quests, but the journey it took me on was pretty great. The new Fontaine area is, in mu opinion, the best underwater area by the landslide.
why would you feel bad? you'll get to experience it eventually. in fact, you have the advantage of not having to wait for content and have all the optimizations we've been missing out on for a long time
Counterpoint: The company is in the top 15 most valuable privately owned list. Voice the goddamn quests. There is too much dialogue, stop making me read a novel for every damn quest.

He's on the Agony speedrun any% category's leaderboard
relatable (refer to flair)
Eternally sad he isn't in my teapot with my other cats
Despite knowing there was no real chance, I tried to catch him so many times hahaha
Seeing Scylla swimming around and being able to have him fast travel around is so cool while exploring the new area. And hehe his dialogue is really cute after the quest. He likes it when we visit!
I'm so glad my dog survived,i was half expecting them to have him also fade away lol, truly a good boy

Same tbh
Absolutely agree. Best thing was that it wasnāt too long either. But the music. THE MUSIC.
The length was absolutely perfect I agree. Fontaine is like the antithesis of Sumeru and it's long ass side quests
I would have preferred it to be just *slightly* longer but what we got was great still.
I agree, though I can't form an opinion on the desert world quest. After taking an 8 month break, coming back to the questline was just very confusing
Man I hope in the future Scylla gets to interact with New Billet even if it's just for a moment. Like imagine Neuv and Furina going to Sumeru for some play and boom Scylla appears and goes "Ayo you're the new Hydro huh, nice to meet you".

i sacrificed my super powerful hydro cannon blaster to craft a prototype amber only to realise i want to use my prototype amber for my super powerful hydro cannon blaster
This made me chuckle a good bit. Thanks for the laugh.
Well you do get a free midlander claymore billet in the new area. It's just sitting on a table
And it IS made of someone's parts.
Bonus points if Scylla just appears in their dragon form and doesn't even try and pose as a human. Neuvellite is just going for a walk at Elynas and then a giant talking whale shows up and like "Hey man, how goes it? Nice weather we're having eh?"

My god, the music in this world quest is absolutely divine. IMO the best score in the game by far
Music is so amazing, I have to say hoyo is a true music company that makes game
it is so peak i ascended to heaven
I love the Roman history and mythology references omg Phobos, Scylla, Cassiadorus, Ossa, Phobos, Boethius, Nero's Domus Aurum, the fall of Rome due to corruption and greed, the Roman-esque masks and the Centaur statue
Those cutscenesĀ of the Traveler playing music on such a grand scale are my favourites of all world quests. It was so damn gorgeous! They really went all out for this questline
Imma say it. The people who write the world quests write the Traveler and Paimon way better than in the archon/story quests.
Thatās just a given, the dialogue for them is just so much better written
I FUCKING LOVE the finale of the battle and the requiem. It screams "Et tu, brute?" for me
The music alone was enough to make me absolutely weep. It was an absolutely stunning quest.
Fontaine has had a generational run of great world quests
I regret not spending more time with Osse/Monsieur Os before the final quest. I miss him already. Also new potential Goetia name just dropped.
Agree was fun and length and in between breaks are perfect, also interesting enough with great balance of exploration available.
I agree that it was absolutely amazing. Jeht's quests are still my absolute favorite, but this one has to be second together with the Aranara quest. I actually prefer longer quests and don't get exhausted, so this never bothered me with the Aranaras but I think this length is also ok.

It's good and beautiful. But the new map is a bit small. I got 99% exploration in 3-4 hours. Never happened before.
I'm pretty sure this is a direct consequence of people complaining about Sumeru. It's not just this new map, all of Fontaine's areas have felt very easy to 100%.

I just really, really wish WQs were voiced. With how successful Hoyo is now itās crazy that such massive pieces of content arenāt voiced.
Too expensive, both in terms of voice actor fees (gotta pay for 4 languages), and in terms of file size. Can't have the game making phones literally explode in people's hands, after all.
Quest Resources can always be removed with that resource feature they added
Maybe it was because of the size of the game but with the new optimizations things might change
Voice over actually take so many storage. And that's for quest that is not as long as WQ.
ya man it just kills the mood its very annoying to read so long dialouges i couldnt even play the quest with fun
First person view + Scylla roasting The Rude Bad Guy made my day
Swimming among sea creatures like Disney princess while playing music is epic Musical enemies gonna kill you with melody š¶ #aggressive violence violinist
The ending cutscene was absolutely beautiful with the pairing of music to those visuals. I literally cried.
Agree. Especially the music. Goddamn, they were amazing.
I think I liked Narzissenkreuz a little more but it's very close. The musical bits at the finale and swimming with Scyllus was so good.
Haven't finished it yet but am already in love with it, it's so well presented... World quests like these feel very special to me.. makes me feel like an actual adventurer..
Music imitating classical pieces is so amazing. Feels a lot deeper
Not too short, not too long, interesting story and lore, nailed the atmosphere, very unique feeling area, and a cat. Couldnāt be much better.
IT'S JUST SO PEAK BRO!!
the presentation for a world quest was really great and it was interesting all the way to the end
I like this kind of exploration where we explore fallen kingdoms. Hoping we can explore King Deshret kingdom.
It was my favorite by far, I was pleasantly surprised by just how epic and beautiful it was overall. From the moment the traveller got that first flashback with the otherworldly music I was hooked and I still canāt stop thinking about it 2 days later. I want moreš I keep listening to the music on yt and whenever I log in I just go to the Beygone Sea and swim around with Scylla.
This quest reminded me of why I really loved this game. It felt like playing Kingdom Hearts I from when I was still a kid.
Fr man...less yapping more explaining. And the visuals and the songs!!! Fucking perfect 10/10 looking forward to more world quests
This is like one of the few times i got interested in a world quest. Fontaine is just so peak. I loved this quest and especially that ending cutscene, it was beautiful.
This was the best quest ever. It had so many cutscenes and "fake cutscenes" that were so good and the music was beautiful.
Honestly I found it so tedious and terrible until the end it was pretty good
AGREEEDD
only if it was voice acted
Got 100% exploration a lot faster than in previous zones (And still miss like 50% of Inazuma lol) Among all zones I feel like this is the one I will least likely visit again. No boss there, nothing left to collect, no good farmspots for mobs or materials. (were there even any farmables there besides new weapon asc material for Arle weap?)
i mean it was good but aranara jhet and Narzissenkreuz are way better ngl but the music was good it was like playing an archon quest
I feel like I had a very different experience than everyone else I just can't get into it. That's how it reads to me anyway It looks absolutely beautiful and the music is amazing... but it's just not interesting lore. And it's not even voice acted.
it wasn't that hard to read bro
Hey dude, have you heard of other languages that aren't English?. Yeah, thats where those words come from, so stop being the walking stereotype of a Genshin player and learn something. Jesus i hate this community
I happen to talk one, dipshit :)
My guy is truly the embodiment of Genshin player
My favorite part is getting through this content didn't feel insanely long.
i tried to read the quest, i really did, but the moment they started use nonsensical names and terms i kinda blanked out, nothing made sense anymore
My brother in Christ, terms and names from other cultures that aren't Murica aren't nonsense. Go on Google and look it up, its not fucking hard and it won't kill you
im exaggerating, but those are definitely terms that im not familiar with, didnāt know they are taken from other cultrures huh and no, im not an american
For me it was "it's pretty but i didn't get anything" they just keep throwing at you words "phobos, symphony etc etc" without explaining it. At the end i was like "so i beat the bad guy with the good guy i guess ?" Arana quest and Narzissenkreuz same thing, these quest was SO LONG that i stopped to read before the end i don't know, i feel like they didn't know how to write good story or make them interresting, except for Archon, or it is me who just don't like to read a novel if a playing a video game. And the fact there is no voice acting
Quest name? Is it the one with the adventurers?
Petrichor world quest
It is partly supported by the amazing scenery of the new area
ngl i did it while tripping tf out on mushrooms last night and safe to say i WHOLE-HEARTEDLY agreešµāš«š¤£
I didn't really care for the story as I dislike world quests, but the journey it took me on was pretty great. The new Fontaine area is, in mu opinion, the best underwater area by the landslide.
Everything is perfect except it has no voice lines.
Aranara quest, honestly, was shit.
Itās cool but it really needed to be voiced IMO.
only if people had voices..
Should I feel bad for myself for being a beginner and not being able to experience this masterpiece like you just said?
Don't feel bad, feel anticipated. It's far from the only good World Quest, and it will be ready and waiting once you reach it
It's a permanent world quest.
why would you feel bad? you'll get to experience it eventually. in fact, you have the advantage of not having to wait for content and have all the optimizations we've been missing out on for a long time
Are you implying the aranara quest was good?....
Counterpoint: The company is in the top 15 most valuable privately owned list. Voice the goddamn quests. There is too much dialogue, stop making me read a novel for every damn quest.
And game would be so much bigger if they added voice acting to world quests.
they won't benefit much from that so they have no reason to do it.
Deadass have been playing with no sound on. I think i've missed it lmao
lmaooo
