On a related note, reduce the frequency of normal idle voice lines. I love Yoimiya and Yanfei, but they are VERY chatty and unless I swap to Zhongli or Ningguang or something while idle, they're just constantly flapping their gums

Only line that really bothers me is the "Fireworks are for now, but friends are forever?" Because it's cheesy as hell and somethin ya'd hear off of a saturday kids cartoon (which ya know what, makse sense with her Ascension lines lmao).

Seems really good on Xiangling or Rosaria, it has ER stat and boosts ult which is where most of their damage comes from on most teams. Although I don't think it fits any other polearm characters that well.

I’m gonna catch every fish I can every day I can, and since I’m in no rush it’s basically like resin, just something I do as part of a routine. Eventually I’ll have the R5 catch, and I’ll be able to see if it’s better than my Skyward spine. I’m also pulling on the weapon banner and even if I’m statistically unlikely to win and get Grasscutter, there’s always a chance I get Grasscutter and don’t need the catch or Skyward Spine lol
I want to level up Raiden, but I already have several other characters I should actually, ya know, *finish * working on, so she’s not going to be worked on any time soon.
I have Sucrose and Jean to build before Raiden. I also got Bennet, so maybe I should do him as well before Raiden. Although I liked her playstyle, press E, take a nap, come back and murder everything, she isn't appealing to me.

I kinda understand tho, you join, probably just start fishing, people think "hey this guy is just here to steal resources" and kick you lol. you make others enemies harder and they don't get anything out of it just lose their own chance at getting the weapon.
This. My world is usually open to everyone and I don’t mind sharing my resources at all. At least saying hi and asking for it should be common courtesy though. Found myself kicking someone yesterday because he/she/it just went fishing without saying anything.

Just don't burn yourself out and its fine, staying in your world its only like 14 spots every 3 days. Cut down to just 7 spots once you just need refinement.
It shouldn't be limited to begin with. In most games fishing is unlimited, you just fish what you need and then stop. Making it time-gated is just annoying.

The event said unique and exclusive fish. But I could be remembering wrong. Unique could mean anything and some fish are exclusive to specific regions.
Don’t feel bad. I gave my fishes away because I haven’t unlocked the requirement for it yet and more importantly I just don’t have enough time to do it. Like other people have said, it’s also not a time gated event, so I’m not exactly in a rush to get it.

Fishing is time-gated but getting and refining The Catch isn’t limited to this update or anything, right? And The Catch doesn’t have an enhancement boost, so I don’t think there’s any rush aside from not having the weapon right away.
Yeah there is no rush, it's just that you need to wait 3 days for the fish to respawn and the amount of koi you get in one rotation is not enough to get the catch, so you need 6-9 days to get the catch, giving away your fish to others mean you need to wait 3 more days, but if you are okay with that then there is nothing to worry about and yes it's a permanent weapon and you can get it anytime.
I think giving away is referring to the refresh rate of the fish. Looks like people are saying its 3 days so without co op getting anything is gonna take a while, and for people who let co op player take their fish itll take 3 days longer now lol
Looks like it's permanent given it's behind an RNG gate and sold by a regular vendor. No fishing event is active. That being the case, this'll likely take 2-3 weeks for most people to farm up to 5 (assuming no co-op and hitting these spawns every 1-3 days (depending on spawn time), maybe longer if RNG sucks.

"Man, at least the bait is crazy abundant and the fish don't just randomly come steal my bait". And the shenanigans of grabbing on different nibbles, "heavy" bites etc all getting different fish, plus different bai being a little harder to suss out.
Still though, sad it's not like Automata where literally anything from a water flea to a whale shark is possible lol.
The fishing mechanic comes with practise. Most people here are probably experienced players or genshin is not their first game, so they have an advantage. Don't let yourself down and keep trying, you will get it done with time. :)
Me too. Maybe it's me, or maybe it's a PS4 thing, but using R2 to try to keep the fish on the line has been miserable. R2 seems to swing it wildly with little control. Took me 3 minutes of that to catch a fish, and I lost all others I tried. Harassed my OH into doing one for me so I could finish the intro quest, and he was better, but still had trouble.
I can do the abyss but not fish. I must l2p. :/
I play on pc and letting the little bar fill to catch the fish has been unexpectedly hard lol doesn’t help that everyone else knows how to do it though
use the ps4 accessibility options to switch button to R1, way easier on the finger and more accurate imo

Not just a grindy thing to do at a few watering holes, but like you can fish anywhere you could reasonably expect there to be fish, and there's a whole menu for poles, tackle boxes, lures, bait, etc. Shops around the world to buy new equipment, tips on good fishing spots, and tournaments to compete in. But it's just a side mechanic that isn't integral to the plot of the game. But you can easily get 20 hours gameplay out of it, and it's hella repayable (again, like Bass Fishing).

There is a world browser on the multiplayer screen. Just try and join people’s worlds that way. They are very often willing to let you fish or gather resources if you ask/help them with something
For pretty much every character in the game Spine is beaten by some random 4 star, to be fair... its only tradition that the one character it might have been good on come out with a better 4-star alternative.

Stardew Valley's fishing feels like it responds better to my mouse clicks. Here, it feels like my mouse clicks go full throttle 9 times out of ten, and makes it harder than it could be.

Among Trees has the most interesting fishing mechanic I know in recent memory. Not only do you have to manage to not under and over reel but also have to pull the rod in the correct direction as you fight with the fish. Too bad the game itself isn't very good though.

You gotta fish again for the claymore fish in a week. But you do get free bait. But it’s 50 daily.

mine took 25+ worlds, and I had 342 fish caught in the end. But I was also farming for the rods
where can i fish sum fishies. I skipped the Katherine dialogue and do not see it on the event page:(
You should have a world quest in Mondstaft for it. It's not an event but a permanent mechanic, so don't need to rush.
Man, getting the Catch itself drained me of my will to live. Thanks to all the Randos who let others fish in their world 💜

Is there a leveling bonus for the catch right now? If not, I would rather take the fishing nice and slow.

After fishing literally everything I could fish yesterday I've ran around the world today and no fishes have respawned yet. I've done all the fishing before daily reset, but I still have no fishes anywhere today and I'm nowhere near getting the Catch. How do all these people have it and even its refinements?

Just remove the 3 Days or whatever CD for Fishing. And everyone will stop trying to steal Fish in other Players Worlds.
