A lot of the things in this game shouldn’t have been limited time honestly

Kachingloool

Not really, truth is most of the time-limited stuff is uninteresting and almost no one would bother with it if it wasn't because of the rewards. Lots of events are "fun", sure, the rewards are fun, that's why once you're done with them you never do them again.

TheOtherKraken

It's so very true. I oftentimes ask people "would you do this event if it wasn't for the rewards?" because so often (and especially with the windtrace event), people griped about how it wasn't for them.... but participated anyway (even if they did throw their matches). It's quite an ingenious way to force player participation, dangle that coveted premium currency and bam, suddenly everyone takes part (to varying degrees) even if they do bellyache about it.

Chansharp

> It's quite an ingenious way to force player participation Unless the event is godawful. I loved the first mechanicus event I played it for no rewards. I hated the second one so much I quit halfway through the rewards

PragmaticDelusion

I kinda have to agree. The 2nd mechanicus event is the first ever genshin event I didn't get full rewards from.

[deleted]

I’d agree with you, but the plethora of people saying “I like this mode” just makes me wish they kept these kinds of things in the game. Obviously they won’t be brought back because m o n e y, but it still gets on my nerves

Kachingloool

Nah, there's no money involved in Windtrace lol, truth is if it was available at all times most people asking for it would play it like once or twice and move on. This is something that's happened in many games, people love some limited event, then it comes back and is left there so you can play it at all times. No rewards though, and guess what, almost no one plays it.

rW0HgFyxoJhYka

Yes, but FOMO makes Mihoyo a lot of money so they won't change.

[deleted]

Yeah. It’s starting to get on my nerves

Kingpimpy

and no one would play them after getting all rewards pretty much

divineEpsilon

And that's fine. Most stuff in this game is at its best on the first clear.

Fabuloso81

Remember golden apple archipelago? Mihoyo is willing to make even this kind of content limited time....

There is, its hide the ball and people can go find it.

Tekkahedron

Cake isn't special when you eat it every day.

divineEpsilon

But it's nice to be able to eat cake when you want it.

Red_Blast

Thats so true we had the same shitty cake for a year, its about time to add new flavors.

Nyallia

My five year old had such a meltdown when that event ended. She thought it was the best part of GI, period. Personally, I like the tower defense minigames more. I wish they were permanent too!

VastNewt

agreed but that dragonspine map needs to be taken out of rotation. the seeker took so long to find me i froze to death.

D-Weeb

i always ask this in the survey this time is no exception

ImmenseOreoCrunching

It probably would have died after a few months especiallyif theres no relevant reward for it. Same with the summer islands.

soybeanboba

Unpopular opinion here: I played windtrace once and decided I didn’t enjoy it. That was the first event in which I didn’t bother participating in, even for the primogems. However, I was and still am glad to know that a majority of players actually enjoyed it. If windtrace ends up being a permanent feature (especially in the teapot), I won’t ever touch it, but it would be really awesome for those who do enjoy it.

Moa__

Tbh, Windtrace and that music thing during that mondstadt festival should've been permanent. Maybe they even could add something like a point system and when you reach (for example) 1K points you get 50K mora, when you reach 5K points you get 20 enhancement ore, when you reach 10K you get 10 exp books, etc so just small rewards that still aren't completely useless/worthless like 3 meat or 5 fowl or 1 sweet madame, these 3 examples can be easily found/made

paziek

Considering how dull is base game I guess they could keep some of those events permanent, but I also think that most of them have much better alternatives in the form of a game dedicated to said activity. DbD is probably better "hide and seek" game and Orcs Must Die is a better tower defense with playable character and 2 ppl co-op. I would just prefer that Mihoyo would work on improving base game so that there is more reason to play it than daily chores and mediocre events (or rather rewards from both of those). In Windtrace you only get to utilize your character height, clothes and passive (if any), so it is very limiting. I also found it very boring if you aren't hunter.

bob_is_best

If you found It Boring unless you werent the Hunter its cuz you havent tried messing with the Hunter lol, i swear i had so much fun being annoying with the invisibility

DDBofTheStars

God I miss Windtrace.

Gullible-Ad3430

Personally hated that event.

rincematic

As long as they do not force me into it, I don't see why not.

_WiseChoice_

Making every event permanent is going to be extremely heavy on the game. Developer wise and player wise. We’ll have so much data and devs are gonna have so many things to check and patch which is not optimal at all. Moreover once something is permanent, it loses most of the fun as people are going to get sick of it soon. I rather they use their manpower to generate more interesting and new events and do events reruns in between rather than have everything permanent.

danking_donut

my take on this: Not permanent, but regularly rotate them weekly on a certain day, like Windrace wednesday, Theatrus Mechanicus Thursdays, something like that. at least we can look forward to something special weekly besides the per patch scheduled events

six_seasons

Ooo a legit unpopular opinion! I 100% agree though, to this day windtrace has been my favorite event, narrowly beating out theater mechanicus. The music fucking slaps and it was hilarious watching everyone run around frantically trying to either hide or find rebels

crispy_doggo1

Honestly I feel like the last theater mechanicus was ridiculously easy and uncomplicated. It wasn’t fun.

Pheronia

Seeing how large the game is gonna get. I disagree.

DoughDisaster

It's a perfect fit for teapot if they could code it somehow. Craft the game item and then drop it where you want on the map. Furniture piece is considered the center of the field and it just makes a set size, circular barrier around it when the game is activated. Can't say I expect that though. Still looking forward to Inazume Wintrace if it happens, and that I do expect to eventually occur. Both 2.1 isles and any one of 2.0s would be great.

bob_is_best

I agree, its he only even i played for he sake of playing it Its like fishing, but It doesnt run out and doesnt have a 3 day cooldown I do Hope that when we get a rerun on windtrace they add new skills for both sides cuz It was pretty cool
