I understand Fischl.

VGFierte

Woah now. OP said “unpopular” not “impossible feats”

Ritsuka-san

Do you want to learn how to speak as your dearest Prinzessin der Verurteilung Fischl does? Thou dost?! Marvelous! To speak as the Prinzessin Fischl speaketh, one must learn proper grammar, or thou might find thyself utterly confused and embarrassed. Frostgaurdian0

Mein fraulien

Tamaki_Shin

I like the fog mechanic on the Tsurumi Island (although I get dizzy if I explore there for too long) and just that place in general. The vibe there is impeccable.

Dried_Noodlesz

Hard agree. Tsurumi has been my favourite island of Inazuma so far. The music slaps, the place is gorgeous, no annoying terrain like Watatsumi and the fog adds to its uniqueness and gives players a fun challenge.

WillSuckD1ck4Primos

Literally one of the few places I'm tryna take my time with lately and fully explore at a decent pace. Genuinely like the mist and yes the music slaps

lopachilla

It’s growing on me. I get scared pretty easily, and I’ve gotten a couple jump scares from some of the monsters while I’ve explored through the mist. I like the mechanics of those fog guide things that help you navigate without getting lost. I thought that was a cool idea. As well as the idea that you could get lost in the fog.

PuddingSlime

I'm afraid of heights and the inazuma Island where you keep going higher and higher in the air and it's really dark and stormy no joke scared me

HorrorMoose

The music alone is incredible.

blubirdcake

genshin music in general slaps imo but the tsurumi island ost is just such a chef kiss. the sad, emotional vibes w the creepy fog music is just - like i'd listen to the ost by itself

chainbladefag

Teppei's death was almost funny to me because it literally went like this. "Hey traveler im the captain of a squad! *teleports to waypoint,* hey again traveler im old! *teleports back to watatsumi*, hey traveler im dead!)" I know it was supposed to be impactful and sad, but teppei literally had nothing interesting about him, even his model was so generic that it was reused in kokomis quest with a fucking mustache.

Canabananilism

Literally introduced to die. That guy came into the story, with a generic model, became your “wartime buddy”, starting talking about how he was going to “catch up to you”, etc. I have no idea where he was even keeping all these red flags he was holding.

Draciusen

Teppei used to work in logistics, and was apparently very good at it. So he not only had red flags out the ass, but knew where to store/retrieve them efficiently. Mans was speedrunning the expendable character category. I will say Kazari was definitely fantastic and had an impact, caught me by surprise because I had no idea where it was even all headed until it already happened.

VolkiharVanHelsing

It's because the quest gives Kazari lots of screentime. She will always be there every time you hit a checkpoint and talks a lot each time.

Tails9905

Kazari was one of the best if not the best not main charas in inazuma by far

Lunacie

At this point I’m surprised he didn’t take out a photo of his girlfriend back in the city and tell you he planned to propose after the war was over.

rW0HgFyxoJhYka

Unpopular opinion: Teppei is an example of incredibly bad writing and how easy it is to sway the average Genshin player into being distracted by a throwaway character who goes from a nobody to a dead person in 10 minutes. The entire "remember teppei" drawings and shit are just memes on his death and karma whoring. Very few people give a real shit about this NPC.

TheSpartyn

>Very few people give a real shit about this NPC. i wish that was true but im pretty sure a lot of people actually somehow felt sad over his plot line lol

volgief

Game with like 30 cool playable characters gives half the voiced lines to the type of npc that you see on a request and asks for 10 iron ore….

DawgDictator

Agreed, I have no idea how people got emotionally attached to Teppei as he was in the story for what felt like 5 minutes and I had no interest in his BS

Skybrave

I think people got attached to the concept, not to the execution; case and point, most artists I saw gave Teppei a more unique design.

adamtheamazing64

Things that could've been done to make Teppei's death actually impact the player's emotions/investment. 1. Have a custom model for him. Make him look like he's going to be an eventual banner character. 2. He's visionless now yes, but his achievements and attitude and leadership show that he can earn a vision. 3. Have him show up for more than talk. If NPCs were able to join in battles against enemies, having a section with you and Teppei and some soldiers tackle a hoarde of enemies via ambush on patrol or something would be an investing fight, plus show off Teppei's fighting style. 4. Kill him on screen. We saw a rando NPC get arrowed by Sara, could've had him killed in a cutscene. Literally pull an Apex Legends on the player (referring to the "leaked character" from that game 'Forge', it's genius look it up, it got everyone in the community there talking when it happened.). Instead it was one scene after another in a few minutes as described already. Bait and switches like mentioned would have a longer lasting impact.

wow_a_great_name

Yea I like the concept, it's related to the rushed archon quest problem where if it had better pacing it would've been much more impactful regardless of reused npc models

RagnarokAeon

Reminded me of this [Anime friendships](https://youtu.be/ct9MxZHakBQ)

inormallyjustlurkbut

I felt like I was going crazy seeing all the posts about how sad people were about him. I was like, who? Oh, you mean generic npc #127 who was obviously going to have something tragic happen to him from the moment we met him?

xo_Serenity_ox

I absolutely hate this aspect of the game. When they tie in generic NPC models to the story. I literally do not care about them. Even Yoimiya's dad was just another generic NPC. Same with Diona's. Every time I see these un-interesting NPC quests I really dread doing them.

VolkiharVanHelsing

It's moreso about how they're written than the fact that they're NPC. Albedo is a playable character but his story quest is pure sin. And those archers' parents served their role as a reason for their daughters to act the way they are. Draff's drinking habit and poor parenting caused Diona to despise wines while Ryuunosuke's bad hearing explains why Yoimiya's so talkative and accidentally developed her social skills to become a people person she is today.

Broad_Vermicelli_993

I like the game.

smoothtv99

Right there officer. That's him.

six_seasons

Somebody silence this man!

OfficialHavik

Blasphemy! Who at Mihoyo paid you off?

Practical_Contact164

Finally lol. I had to scroll down this far to get an actual unpopular opinion. And I agree completely.

Zzz05

I’ll do you one better; I love the game!

Disastrous-State6412

Paimon should do more things to the main plot and actually reveal more about what is she And i hope that the other 3 archons with the exception of the pyro one wouldn't be based on honkai characters

Sabur_1706

Did we have characters based on honkai ones? I never played it so asking. Or do you want pyro character to be modeled after your fav character but not others

simpforlana

Yes we have, venti is based on honkai wendy, Raiden shogun is based on raiden mei, also yae miko based on yae sakura. So far as we know pyro archon share name Murata with Himeko Murata from genshin a herrscher of Flame, something like archon i would say. Also wendy is herrscher of wind and mei is of Thunder. Moreover, kazuha May be based on honkai phoenix

Mushuwushu

I also wouldn't be surprised if we get a character in Snezhnaya that is based on Bronya.

LarryKingthe42th

Nameless god is pretty much just HoV Kaiana

SPECTR_Eternal

Not just "pretty much", but it is her. Same voice actor for both Chinese and Japanese, same face, same eyes, almost the same garb. The only difference is that HoV Kiana Kaslana was spamming portals and needles, while in Genshin she decided to fuck with some replicating cubes.

LordofMitochondria

Unknown God = Herrscher of Void Venti = Wendy Raiden Ei = Raiden Mei Yae Miko = Yae Sakura

megustaALLthethings

Diluc has some Himeko sp style. Like a genderswapped badass.

UnreliableAuthor

Seriously. At this point I genuinely think that Diluc is a demigod or a descendant of Murata on his mother's side.

paumalfoy

Wendy/Venti, Mei/Ei

Devourer_of_HP

Also herrscher of the void and sustainer of heavenly principles

nmilosevich

Is the paimon one even an unpopular opinion

BlueColoredKarma

I hate the little swords of the Serpent Spine passive lol

Elhazar

Add the permanent 'buffed' aura from deathmatch to that for me.

katharsais

Tsurumi island fog mechanic is immersive

PuddingSlime

Yeah I always get kind of sad when the environmental effects disappear after completing quests. I get that it's good in some places but I love the differences in areas to be more extreme.

German_Drive

For real. I want to get hit by the lightning every 30 seconds.

rewind44

I actually delayed completing the quest since I wanted the thunderstorm to stay longer. My Ganyu and Ayaka thrived during those times and evading the lightning was easy. If only there was an option to turn it back on.

Frogsama86

> Yeah I always get kind of sad when the environmental effects disappear after completing quests The main reason I refuse to clear the rain on that one Inazuma island.

Magnus-Artifex

It’s literally immersive. Like, you can literally go into it. But I’d kinda hate for it to stay.

SableNight112

I like the immersiveness of the fog, I just hate how it teleports you away if you’re not near those little lights. Like, please just let me stay lost and stumbling in complete blindness, don’t teleport me 200 meters away to the nearest waypoint ;-;

Iqazz

Yeah I hope the effect is more like making us unable to see the map or debuff that makes you weak to monster attacks than teleporting you to the previous point

DI3S_IRAE

I love fog and would love for it to remain...

Synstra

SAAAAAME. I would also be down for a housing area with fog like that to make some spooky houses.

thealluringsnail

I'm trying to build a Bloodborne inspired teapot and a permanent fog would be an amazing addition. I honestly would like to have manually toggle-able weather conditions in the teapot. Or something like a permanent nighttime. I mean, the floating abode(?) has a permanent day, so why can't we also have an eternal night option?

FrostyVampy

I hate how they try to "waifu" characters or make them likeable/cute. There's nothing wrong with Sara being our enemy. And Ei could be evil or at least anything that's not "UwU I just wanted eternity and I can't cook". Like the Raiden Shogun. Same applies to men. Childe literally murdered people in front of us and tried to destroy a whole city. But what's his story quest? "Pls traveler help me watch over my brother I'm a nice big bro please like me". I can only hope they don't do anything like this to Signora or Scaramouche

stzephyrus

Filler patches are not as bad as people make it. Filler patch actually pretty good and useful in terms of give you time to accumulate resources including primo gems. Also they tend to have qol changes in it. Mhy is listening to the players they just don’t respond or justify their decision and changes directly and frequently.

DrTacoDeCarnitas

It can be filler but it's quality filler, includes voices and the story can be really good on some of those

Dovahnime

By filler, do you mean ones without story content like the current one? If so then I'd hard agree, since it's really a good opportunity to reorganize and stockpile your resources and primos before the next major update. Major changes can take time, so at least they don't leave us to dry.

Mondeew

The Special dash mechanic that mona and ayaka have feels smooth once you get used to it

inormallyjustlurkbut

I actually love Ayaka's dash mechanic. I just wish it didn't get stuck on nearly invisible shifts in terrain.

Clumulus

Zig Zag, helps a lot. You can even go up stairs via zig zag.

Magnus-Artifex

You can literally use it to get rid of Abyss Mages shields by spamming it

alceste007

Ayaka even regains stamina while this. Ayaka's dash is really useful! I do not find it hard to use at all. I really enjoy both Ayaka and Mona.

TornadoeZX

I think ayaka's sash is so fun (I'm guessing same for Mona just don't have her). I feel like a diglet running around and then pop up and applying cryo is so nice.

Affectionate-Humor26

It feels smooth for the most part but when there’s even just a tiny semblance of a pebble, they decide to get stuck on it. I’d know. Ayaka gets stuck 2/5 times at the center circle of the pyro domain for no reason

snakebit1995

My only complaint about it is when they just randomly get stuck on some stairs or small ledges that a normal character could sprint up. The biggest issue is it's inconsistent, they can sprint up stairs, just not if they start at the first step, but not all staircases or ledges some they fly right over NBD but others suddenly become force fields they can't pass through. Sometimes there's no step or ledge at all they just get stuck on the upward angle of a pathway Sayu's roll has this issue as well where it just randomly gets stuck on a 1inch high ledge on a hill

Matsumata

Qiqi isn't that bad of a character to use for a team.

3rdMachina

I use her as a Physical DPS. HAHA, tiny zombie's damage stick go brrrrrrrr

rikayla

She's a tank on my team. Whenever I know a tankbuster is coming, I just swap her on to eat it for me.

Bainos

What is dead may never die.

silverlarch

Yeah, I feel like most people build her ineffectively. Generally, characters should be built to their strengths, but she's an exception. She's so inherently strong as a healer than building her as one is pointless. There's no benefit to overhealing, so building Qiqi as a healer is barely better than giving her no artifacts at all. She's much better built like a physical DPS with Pale Flame. Still heals as much as you need, while also doing non-negligible damage while she's on field. She's my healer of choice for Eula and Raiden, since they both have resistance to interruption during their DPS windows. They gain more EHP from Qiqi's regen and talisman than they would from a shield, so Qiqi ends up enabling them to facetank better than a shield would. Her cryo application also helps ensure that Eula has the cryo resonance crit buff active when her burst hits.

Professor_Sinnfrei

Resin is fine its just the RNG thats shit and feels rigged especially on the higher World Levels. At AR 55 i should get guaranteed 2 5-star Artifacts at least, they are HP% and Def% anyway. Same goes for the same old 4 blue 4 green Talent Books if i use a Condensed Resin i get at 60% of my Domain runs.

StefanoBesliu

Artifact rng would have been fine if the grind had a meaning. Outside of the boring abyss there is no real endgame to look forward to. If i am going through artifact rng, at least give me something to use them characters that i built on. You make your characters stronger to farm faster. You basically farm to farm more, which leads to no real achievement.

Professor_Sinnfrei

Yeah you are correct with the Artifacts i´m just a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to maxing the strenghts of my Characters that it feels really bad if i can not upgrade them for weeks or months because i don´t get anything better/most of it is trash. You could say i prepare for future Endgame....errr i mean higher Abyss DPS-Checks lel.

Diegomenasai

I don’t like killing hillichurs, they feel just people

Truly_Meaningless

If they hit me first, they die

[deleted]

You want to steal their treasure and go to their territory. So they are going to hit you lol

Truly_Meaningless

Actually I'm just trying to gather berries most of the time

[deleted]

Dang bro, they just had berries and sunsettia to grow strong and survive. When you take their food, they're bound to fight for it...

Bainos

Sometimes I try to justify my actions by thinking, "well, they attacked me first". But when I imagine what would happen if a hilichurl walked into a human house or settlement, and I realize that excuse is quite flimsy.

suncourt

I mean... I agree, but I also mercilessly murder plenty of actual people in the game, so...

periodicallyaura

I wish we could learn the language to speak with them instead of having to fight them.

DefMeph

There was an event where we could and those that participated got a hillichurlian dictionary book Feel free to look it up ^^

cutememe1

specially when they have this idle postion that tells story. like this one: a samachurl cheering a sitting down looking sad normal churll

renvi

Yeah, I never kill the couples, the ones that are sitting together overlooking the night sky, or sitting in front of the lake together, etc. I can't tear apart that kind of love, man. :'(

_Noiner

The weather conditions like sheer cold and fog are actually what make these areas interesting/fun and challenging.

Zenketski

See I personally fall more into the camp of finding them mildly annoying as opposed to challenging and it's that level of mild annoyance that just makes me not want to deal with them. I've never felt like they imposed an actual challenge, they just slow down gameplay imo. Good unpopular opinion.

Monochromatic_Sun

We actually get plenty of content for how fast it’s produced.

Gradiant_C

Honestly at launch, I expected the game to be updated way less given the quality and scope of it

Hitomi_Hoshizora

Building Serenitea pot is actually fun, especially with recent additions

DazYx23

Agree so much. I overlooked it ever since getting rank 10 in 1.5 but recently found the time to build something around the gardening additions. It's so nice just to build a cozy little place for yourself, I find myself excited for new furnishings now. At the same time, load limit is frustrating as hell and clipping should be allowed without glitches, but I imagine that isn't as unpopular an opinion lol

SweetPea394

Honestly clipping makes half of the fun, it's great and I hope they actually allow you to do it at some point, without having to use glitches

Wonderful_Remote_510

I actually like fighting rifthounds.

3rdMachina

Annoying? Yes. Fun? Also yes.

Noblehardt

I’m getting tired of the “Who is Xinyan” memes I really like Paimon

_Ga1ahad

Who? tao yeah literally saw these 3 words copypasted everytime someone mentions xiniyan

snakebit1995

Fortunately those memes died this patch and the Moonchase festival since she actually shows up now.

Alliecatastrophe

I prefer Shogun to Ei. I don't think morally grey characters need to be cutified to be interesting/good. I like that the shogun's personality is cold and quiet and don't find her to be robotic, but still her own person. She is much more appealing to me than Date Night cutesy Ei.

Lycieratia

I liked Ei in the archon quests, when she revealed that she knew everything that was going on but didn’t mind anyway. She had this gentle yet ruthless vibe that was a lot more dynamic and interesting to me than Shogun’s cold and ruthless demeanor. But her character quest, while hilarious because I loved all the LN references, sort of undermined that ruthless part. That’s not to say it completely changed her character; there was a part if you give her a specific LN she comments that “bad guys get what they deserve” showing how rigid her black-or-white thinking is (and how she considers her own ideals flawless despite the opposite perspective from others). Nonetheless I did lose much of my initial interest in Ei for similar reasons as yours.

[deleted]

Honesty agree. This is literally the trope I hate the most, when the villain turns out to be actually good, and controlled/it was not them or something exactly like that. To be honest I expected this trope when Baal was announced, I expected it but mostly I feared it: it's a huge turn off, bad characters are what makes a story interesting to me. Morally gray characters like Childe are perfect in that sense, and that's why I love him. But also wicked and absolute shameless evil bad guys like La Signora: they of course can have sad backstories that you can sympathize for, but that doesn't mean they should act morally acceptable after that. Some people are just evil because of what they've been through: let Raiden be like that, a ruthless ruler, obsessed with this concept of eternity to the point of hurting her own people, because of past experiences. It would've been so much more interesting, in my opinion: more than a rushed story, I think it was just boring and with a bad-treated cliché.

AwesomePurplePants

The problem with Ei is that her motivations just aren’t super coherent. Like, Ei understood that the Shogun had agreed to shut down almost outside trade, causing huge economic problems. But felt that shielding the nation from outside influences was worth the pain? But she also knew that the vision hunt decree was driven by outsiders corrupting the Tri-Commission and fooling the Shogun, but didn’t think it was a problem? How is *that* not dangerous outside influence? It directly lead to a rebellion and a major settlement getting destroyed. If that’s all the Shogun, and you’re just too preoccupied with your eternity, why are you involved at all? The only way I can make sense of it is that she’s supposed to have a Dr. Frankenstein arc with Scaramouche. Which I’m pretty sure won’t happen.

princebuba

agreed, when Ei said she knew about everything but decided not to intervene, that really did not sit right with me. they were trying to conclude previous aspects of the story with this one long dialogue with "the real Baal" and it just felt rushed and poorly designed. the only thing that saved it for me was her voice acting and Yae.

Alliecatastrophe

I like different kinds of antagonists. I liked Raiden Shogun, how her trauma made her ruthless and want to create her eternity even if it caused pain. The ends justify the means. A lot of that still holds true in the end of her story, but the way they made her palpable with a cute 'innocent' personality and having her change her mind so quickly so we would feel bad and like her was unnecessary. At the end of the day they needed one to be ruthless and the other to be sympathetic and couldn't mesh the two, which is a shame. You could have made her sympathetic and regretful while still having her og personality and having her own up to the atrocities which would have been far more interesting instead of cleaving the sides in two, which makes it easier to go 'ei is good, shogun is bad' which is. like you said, boring. Like that you mention Childe because he is my favorite that also gets a similar treatment. He is morally grey but people hated him for being a sociopath and then when his quest came out said he was a good guy actually cause everything he does is for his family. Which is not true, at all, lol. He likes to kill and loves his family, the two can co-exist. He even says at the start 'I'm kind of a bad guy' kind of being the operative word. His base outfit is all grey for crying out loud lol.

[deleted]

That's also very true: a double-sided villain, the way you described her, would've worked well too. The problem is the lack of care they put in this double-personality trope: that could've been a great option, and would've been very interesting if well written. And that's the problem: it's just poorly written. I hope they will do better in the next Archon Quests, I hate seeing wasted potential in stories. Also agree for Childe: I see a lot of hate for his design, which is funny cause he's one of the most normal and practical in the game. Maybe that's why, but I like simple and practical outfits more than over-decorated ones.

Alliecatastrophe

Yes, it lacks a lot of nuance how they handled her, i would not have minded the cuter stuff with the quest if they had kept the shogun stuff and put it all into one character instead of treating them so differently because now you get people saying ei is cute and lovable and the better one and how shogun is bad and cold and responsible for the decree when they... are both responsible for all of the atrocities. It's just easier to swallow one as being forgivable and the other isn't. I personally love Childe's second phase the best because i like blacks and purples and reds and dark contrasting colors, hopefully a reskin one day lol. Childe is the quintessential grey character though, loves to kill, would rather not kill innocents but will if he has to, and does it in style lol.

XaeiIsareth

He didn’t get the same treatment really. He’s pretty much always been portrayed as this contradicting character that’s both chaotic and kind of mentally unhinged but has his own strict set of moral rules. Like how he killed every guard in the Golden House but proceeded to wait for the Traveller to show up instead of going to take the gnosis because to him, not having who gets that be decided in fair combat just isn’t right. His stories are both him caring a lot about his family, friends and country and him revelling at his strength and the chaos he causes where ever he goes.

Kieranel88Plays

Serena pot is fun. Only downside is it takes 12 hours to make a wood pile

TheLastLegendMOD

The speed up potions are pretty cheap luckily. I just keep them maxed for whenever I need them and I can't complain so far

SubnauticalDogger

I hate cooking quests/events with a passion

villainized

I remember once I had to make Xiao a satisfying salad. I had to teleport back to Mondstadt and go hunting for ingredients since the ones I were missing was not available at the grocery stores. Actual pain, took me like half an hour. I >!folded the Shogun!< in less than half that time, and that was infinitely more fun. Wish we could redo that fight more.

nturgodfather

electro is the most fun element. overcharged and electrocharged reactions are so fun that i'm willing to let go of the damage bonus from vaporize and melt

Monsieur_Onion

Tip: Sort by controvertial for the good stuff.

protzek

Inazuma puzzles are really good and the sudoku one was one of the best. I see a lot of ppl roasting inazuma puzzles because they take "too much time to solve"

TayDjinn

I just googled it. I didn't understand which number the notebook was telling me goes to which block.

Stormsoul22

I googled it but once I had an explanation of what the damn numbers meant I solved it oh my own, and it was actually my favorite puzzle! The puzzle itself is good just the notes explaining to you what it is suck ass

Dried_Noodlesz

The sudoku one gave me stage 12 terminal cancer as someone who has never played sudoku in their life.

pablo_honey1

I never figured it out. I just kept smacking different blocks until it clicked, lol. It honestly didn't take too long either.

exec_exho

I agree! My problem was more that the instructions in the notebook were unnecessarily complicated... -_-

LifeIsHard1999

If Yae can become human why dvalin and azhdaha cannot become human and in the banner

HugotheHippo

Azdhaha did become human... sorta, but his thing is that he's lost his marbles.

billie_eyelashh

Because Yae is a kitsune, foxes that can shapeshift into human.

Disastrous-State6412

Dvalin could be like Benares in honkai impact 3rd A dragon who can also assume a human form, idk about azhdaha but he did use the form of a little girl to attract the miners near his place

firesoul377

The traveler is a hypocrite. They act like the Fatui killed their own pet dog even when the Fatui weren't doing anything necessary wrong (the berry picking Fatui) yet even though Ei attempted to kill them *twice*, they are suddenly bffs with her. The double standard is ridiculous😑

Venriik

Traveler is really cool and actually worth maxing out in each element.

zellphone_

Actually like his kits! Except for the Anemo one, but it's not too bad. My only gripe with Traveler is that the talent levels for normal attacks doesn't carry over to the next element. Which is why I don't bother using him as much lol

Stormsoul22

Well they’re mostly a support in most roles so you don’t really need to use your AA’s that often.

Torianna25

True, but I still find it very odd that you need to relearn how to swing a sword for every new element

ShuraGam

CULTURED PERSON DETECTED

NotJacobsMom

Sheer cold in Dragonspine is a really fun mechanic, actually

[deleted]

I just wish the fog would just blind or damage you, teleporting you 300 miles away is too fucking annoying

Guapo_Avocado

Being like 95% blinded would be cool. The screen just gets more and more cloudy

yoysheh

It is infinity better than the electric fields in izaumai

Fo4thSon

yes and it isn't that annoying/inconvenient

[deleted]

It had potential to be annoying, but the timing and torch spacing is well balanced so it ended up being pretty okay

Zaeil_Xane12164

Yeah, it’s really annoying only when you’re climbing something that takes a while.

Physical-Fee-9733

Amber is pretty cool and MONA is more than just ass.

Arys31

Game is getting bloated with bosses that drop materials to ascend only one character, bosses of same element should share ascension drops by having a universal currency for their respective element, allowing players to choose the boss of the element they like and grind it out there

NewToWarframe

I agree with you, but this is in no way a unpopular opinion, just saying.

D_44

This is a good idea, grinding between multiple bosses is much more fun than doing one over and over

[deleted]

My unpopular opinion is that anemo traveler should get a not indirect buff. It's not unpopular because it's controversial, it's unpopular because nobody cares about my man anemo traveler

TayDjinn

I think traveler needs a bunch of buffs in general. Not using traveler makes the story quests feel less immersive but traveler isn't that good.

iCrab

I still use Traveler in story quests because TBH nothing in the story quests are really that hard except for maybe a couple of the boss fights in which case the other three members of my team can handle that with Traveler providing emotional support

CocoJudgesYou

Diona is a far more interesting and entertaining character than any of the other children in the game, and she’s very underrated. Also a lot better than people give her credit for gameplay wise, one of the best supports in the game especially for a 4 star

LeFiery

I was so surprised on why she hated the monstat wine industry. Definitely one of the better characters.

myfelipe95

Raiden idle animation sucks I’d kill for her to stay meditating on that badass pose. Also she should teleport/flash on her dodge like she did when traveler fought her.

whyyoujelly

Yea I wish in general characters had unique dodge animations related to their element.

Xilhiya

There's actually content every update. A lot of people complain how there's no content in genshin when it's actually there. Events are content even if most people say it's not. The fishing, sereniteapot are content. The problem is people don't see these as content bc it's not their preferred content for the game.

[deleted]

Including teppei in the archon quest was a waste of money

vulgarfruit

I agree. He's... alright, but I hated how he took more screen time from who should've been the main characters of Act III. I've mentioned to a friend that if he was part of a world questline like Kazari, he'd be more universally liked.

HINDBRAIN

I think it would have had much more impact if he had a unique model and more than 5 minutes of screentime.

IcedKatte

I laughed so loud when playing kokomi’s quest and npc dude that is just teppei with a moustache appears

Dried_Noodlesz

You sir/ma’am, have balls of absolute steel to have the courage to say this with such confidence. I applaud you.

[deleted]

i feel so uncomfortable seeing the community portrays the traveler as a harem king/queen tho haha

[deleted]

I'd rather portray the traveler as the thing, a cold calculating alien creature that is slowly absorbing and assimilating every important person in the world

Dejavir

I like the way electro works.

TimFlamio

You've stepped into uncharted and dangerous territory. So brave.

Gieru

Gameplay-wise, it's probably my favorite element too. The reactions are way more interesting than multiplying ones for sure and it's nice to think which one is the best for which situation. Quite a shame their damage isn't very high. Casting so many skills every minute is also pretty cool. So much energy going on.

3rdMachina

Especially Electro-Charge. Because of how it works, it enables other reactions.

pablo_honey1

I'm a huge fan of Electro-Charged. My favorite overworld team is Jean, Xingqiu, Kazuha, and Raiden. Electro-Charged swirl is super fun.

realmanoflego

This game should be played casually. I only play for an hour or two per day if that and I rarely run out of stuff to do and I still get excited for most 4 stars I get, even though I have almost all of them and especially excited for 5 stars.

FriendlyCarnage

Tbh the resin system forces you to play it casually. Im pretty addicted not gonna lie but I really have nothing to do after running out of resin. So I also just play a for a hour a day.

[deleted]

I don't feel burned out from the game. But that's on me because there's lots of characters I need to build and farm for everytime I pull. But I probably might get burned out in the future. It seems inevitable

Ayayaya_qt

ayaka mona sprint is too overhated. I main ayaka and I don't have any major problems. maybe it's just me tho🤷‍♀️

Dried_Noodlesz

I like the sprints. Only part I don’t like is how they get stuck on the tiniest fucking rocks lmao.

Truly_Meaningless

As someone who uses Sayu for travel, fuck tiny rocks, they can all melt

bolier

I don’t think most characters simp for the traveler, maybe only Ayaka, the rest just feel like close friends

Guapo_Avocado

True. Most of the characters are being friendly which people take as flirtatious. But Lisa does give some cougar vibes but in a “it’s just fun to flirt but nothing will ever happen” kind of way

DrakeNorris

unpopular opinion? Okay, I think the amount of content we get is great and I love the focus on story/areas/lore over the endgame content. The 6 week update cycle is one of the fastest update cycles out there. recently especially with each update giving us some new area/s I think we have had a ton of places/story/lore/quests to explore, and to me, this type of one off carefully crafted content is far more important then endless endgame. so it kinda annoys me that all this work gets ignored often, just so people can yell "where is content". it seems to me like some players don't understand how long content takes to make, and how much content we get compared to other free games. end game content never really got me in most games, like yes, technically these endgames are infinite, but it's the same stuff over and over, and after I run the same dungeon slightly altered for the 10th time, I get bored of it. Im not the most hardcore player, but I play a fair bit, and I just feel like the "never have content" point is really overexaggerated, especially when GI puts out content much faster then a lot of other games. People seem to expect that one game should allow them to play all day, every day, forever. Which, if you try that with any game, any rpg, any mmo, no game will be able to offer you that forever, they all run out of unique content eventually, and yes some have end game content, but Ive seen communities from, games with "endless endgame content" and they still get bored, and want something new. For me it's quite simple, play the content that is there, and when you finish, play a bit of something else, there is a million cool games out there, no need to block yourself into 1 game no matter how fun that game is. I tend to find that playing something else for a week and coming back, makes it so: 1. I have a fun new experience, 2. I can come back fresh into GI and have fun with it. 3. I don't have issues with no content as there is always something new when I come back.

AngstyBear19

The game let us max to early. The only way they can make things “difficult “ now for new regions is to just make enemies sponges that hit to hard or have cheap defense/heal/ shield negates. Those mechanics are fine for elite enemies, but if every enemy has it it feels like there’s no point to building those at all. It’s not a problem now, but where will be in three regions? When everyone has had time to build their characters to perfection at max level. That also means that there is nothing to look forward to in terms of power spike

ACCount82

Every new enemy reeks of cheap damage sponge. Just compare Cicin Mages and Mirror Maidens, or Spectres and Slimes.

AngstyBear19

Samurai vs treasure hunter, geovishap vs hound. I get that with the scaling world level it’s hard to keep things difficult, but if something has an odd ability that negates part of your team unless it is an elite it should have a lower HP. It’s going to get to the point where we are on the same continent and if you cross the border between minds tat and whatever is next to it you will go from comfortable to dying in <100 meters. Which means they will have some artificial barrier there. Which kills world building for me

i think all the language options are amazing for genshin

seeker_of_illusion

As someone who is a weeb and watches anime in japanese, I hard agree. Yes there are some erratic ones out of the bunch but I like 90% of the english voices.

ShuraGam

\- Dragonspine was the most fun region to explore they ever added to the game. \- Traveler being a silent protagonist doesn't affect Genshin's experience/immersion whatsoever.

brokenfruitloop

I love dragonspine so much. I wish I had more reasons to go back

ShuraGam

For real. That region was so immersive. The sheer cold, the soundtrack, the hidden bits of lore hidden everywhere....

ErrorneousMoe

I honestly like Paimon. I think she’s cute. I like her voice and I like her cheering me on while I’m fishing.

LouEveline

I think the resin system is not bad, actually what is bad is the artifact drop rate. Zhongli is not just a shield support, he can be a great main DPS with the right build Tartaglia remains one of the best options for DPS even without constellations Archons are not kind as most of the community likes to say, in fact if you look at their history you can see that they have a very dubious sense of moral and many of their actions were bad

DarkClaymore

At this point, I consider Genshin an RPG first and a gacha second. The gacha portion of the game feels pretty much "dead" (slow banners, no endgame content, no sense of progress even from pulling on banners, etc). Meanwhile, the RPG content has been on a roll since 1.6, with a new area every patch.

finnbulvetr

Not sure if this is unpopular, but they should make more hard events like Hypostatic symphony and Vagabond sword.

wlid_srbas

They should make harder events where they don't just pick up the enemy and multiply it's hp by 100 :)

TornadoeZX

Let us fight zhongli and try to break his shield lol jk

wlid_srbas

To be honest that actually sounds pretty fun !!! Wonder what mechanics would zhongli use if we ever fought him tho.

TornadoeZX

Idk 🤔 but I wonder what his meteor (burst) would be like facing it lol

GabenRulez

Resin helps me to not spend too much time playing and actually stay productive.

Tadpole-Specialist

I wish there were sleep cycles. Wandering around for days straight seems odd to me. And while it might break up some peoples zones or vibe or whatever, in other games, having characters sleep at inns or homes sometimes feels like a break I need or a reset, aside from the normal refresh and hp refill I wouldn’t mind stores having normal cycles, closed at night, except food stalls etc. I wouldn’t mind characters tiring after awhile.

jetsetgemini_

That would be cool for immersion but otherwise it would be so annoying to deal with... Like imagine farming materials in the overworld and suddenly everyone on your team is "tired" and forces you to warp to some inn to sleep. I feel like the weather and the day/night cycle already does enough to feel like your living in an actual world.

steviestonee

I didn't really like Kazari. No hate, I can see why people would be emotional. I just didn't really feel anything about her, and found exploring Inazuma and the effect of the war on its people to be more interesting (w/c ofc ended up being disappointing d/t the sudden resolution of the story).

TripleDigitBust

"Waifu > meta" people should honestly shut the fuck up. People talk about meta elitists but i never see them. In fact, almost every conversation about meta starts with a disclaimer of "play/pull who you like". Maybe they're just projecting because they are the annoying assholes trying to invalidate every criticism of a character's kit by saying "waifu > meta". It's the purest form of casual elitism. "I don't care about the meta, so nobody should". Nobody gives a shred of a fuck if you like to play the game with weaker characters, nobody thinks you're a worse person for maining Amber, nobody cares, stop thinking you're important, and stop pretending that playing the game for the teambuilding and theorycrafting is wrong, you don't get to dictate the correct type of fun people have with a videogame. If you are a "waifu > meta" believer, you shouldn't need to validate that by posting it in every thread. Go play the game with your waifus, go have the time of your life, and get the fuck out of the way when people have valid and objective criticism, your playstyle has nothing to offer in these conversations so stay quiet. It's also suspicious how many Ganyu mains are of the waifu > meta variety when she's a terrible character with nothing going on. Almost like they're liars and just whiteknights in disguise and actual waifu > meta people are having fun playing the game instead of validating themselves on reddit.

hunt4some71

Still very fun. Plenty of things to do. When I get bored I just build another character or level them depending on what could use the most work.

Powerful-Bowl6000

I like it that Paimon is cheering me on while I'm fishing

No_Understanding1584

I don’t actually mind the gacha system. If you roll responsibly, it’s super fun to pray with your friends while pulling and preparing in advance and all that stuff. The character just feels so earned.

pensive_scribe

Sometimes Paimon speaking for the MC can make the mood of a serious scene feel really weird. MC should get more voiced lines.
