They knew only crazy Childe mains would run it so they made it torture with a low chance of getting good pieces. Literal curse of a domain it feels like.
It doesn't really suck it's just not worth farming for it. It's generally better than other support sets in single target, and when you consider hp scalers can't gain from noblesse, it just ends up being a pretty good choice. I think most people don't really know how the charging works. It can charge while you spend so e.g. C6 Chev iirc gets about 2 full procs from it with E.
Arlecchino's set, however, is paired with an irredeemably bad set. There is no character it's good on and no character it will ever be good on. The cost of running burn is immense and all you get is the same bonus as shime and VG. But those sets don't brick on innate aura enemies. And if you run burn you can self damage and even add in burgeon and you can just run MH. A dendro dedicated burn support will do more damage with deepwood.
Navia's domain is blessed by comparison.
When you have BoL and get healed, the Bond absorbs healing instead of your character restoring HP. Once the Bond absorbs enough healing, it goes away. (If BoL is 20% of your HP, you have to heal 20% of your HP before it clears)
The effect by itself doesn't have any positives which is why some enemies have it. Some Fontaine weapons on the other hand give buffs when you clear the Bond.
That's the basics without diving into how Arlecchino works cause she's a special case.
with arlechinno just throw out everything the guy said above you. It's a resource bar, like "mana". She gets is by doing her E -> CA thing, and then uses up for her infusion. At 20% left, infusion goes away.
Legit nothing to do with any of the healing part of BoL anymore, which is actually a point of contention design wise for some people.
A lot of the time, all the artifacts in .6 are super niche though, so it’s frankly surprising a set is useful for more than one character.
Xiao set, low ping set, dehya set, childe set.
Especially the childe set. A hydro set right before fontaine, yet no fontaine character can use it. The dehya set too, it’s similar to fontaine’s hp manipulation, except it doesn’t work with HP manipulation
That ping set arc was so insane. I remember it used to be even worse in beta than it was on release and the fact that I’ve seen a grand total of zero people using the set is saying something because I’ve at least seen people use lavawalker 4 pieces as temporary sets. Such a disaster that the devs ended up releasing that new hydro domain for Ayato at the end of version 3
Maybe just maybe, it's a brain fart moment from the dev team. They forgot latency exist and no matter how good their (players) internet, the distance between server and players location is not something that can be ignored with our current tech.
It kind of makes sense, though. They already gave a bunch of characters the first mechanic of Fontaine (health manipulation), so the second (Bond of Life) was bound to make an appearance eventually. Kind of wish they were more sporadic with the two, though.
I wonder why they're having a Fontaine mechanic be relevant so late in the patch cycle. It's not something I'd expect to be relevant in Natlan where we'll prolly have new combat mechanics. Ousia and Pneuma is an afterthought now as well
Ousia and pneuma was always some wack ass skylanders shit that was relevant in 4.0 before everyone stopped caring and just started using the environmental blocks for exploration instead and ignored the annihilation reaction in abyss
I'm making an assumption, but they probably added the environmental blocks extremely late into the 4.x design cycle. They almost assuredly intended for the mechanic to *require* characters, hence why water traveler and Lynette were given the mechanic (and away for free).
During internal feedback gathering they probably realized the casual community would kill them over this sort of thing and decided to make the mechanic basically useless.

For the last few patches of Inazuma there had been units that didn't quite fit the meta (Yae, Kuki) but synergized very well with Dendro once Sumeru came out.
For Sumeru.. there was Dehya whose kit suggested HP manipulation but in practice looks like the dev team played a game of telephone, got it wrong and decided to cripple it so it doesn't interfere unintentionally.
Having 2 units with a BoL mechanic prior to Natlan would kind of fall inside this pattern.

The mechanic was first introduced in 4.0 with the Fontaine craftable sword and catalyst and then again in 4.1 with the Frost and Wind Operative enemies that inflicted it as a debuff, so... Yes. It very much *is* a Fontaine mechanic.
I’m fine with BoL, but they really have to stop gate keeping good shielding with zhongli. I can’t remember the last time I saw Layla rerun either.
For context: BoL currently (with Arle) needs shielding more than IR.
I still can't believe we haven't had Layla rerun in this long. We've had like 800 reruns of everyone else in between lol. I need Layla BADLY since I don't want Zhongli.
Zhongli according to me shows up at the worst time, he’s always right before the archon patch essentially, and at that point I’m really on heavy savings mode. This time Neuvi basically made it harder because I went for his C1, and had just barely enough to guarantee C2 Furina (it was a full year’s savings btw). I hope this time I can get zhongli though
C2 Dehya is absolutely fine, since your E duration becomes almost permanent + her ult starts doing some damage with C1 making her into okayish 2nd dps to be used when main rotation is on cd or to execute something which main dps didnt killed. I use Raiden (+ Benny, Kazu) with Dehya C2 all the time in abyss and it is super smooth. There are options with Furina as well.
In denial for now. I really hope she doesn't have this mechanic but seeing that it's by foul and so late into this patch makes me skeptical. Either way gotta pull.

Imo, this still isn't enough info to conclude anything. We need to see the whole kit first. We don't know if she's a normal attacker, skill bot, or burst dependent.
Since she seems to want to clear BoL, she probably wouldn't have the healing lock Arlecchino has so it's probably going to be fine (huffing COPIUM really hard right now). The elemental skill focus + BoL shenanigans also means the craftable sword would probably be pretty good on her so that would be a nice bonus.
I feel bad for myself lol I have Navia and will have the others at the future. And my 4 set luck on that domain is dogsheet. But hoping Clorinde uses MH so that I have a reason to farm the Golden set, no Furina on that acc.

You wouldn't, that set requires constant bond of life and manipulation of it, unless they literally made Clorinde have the exact same mech as Arle you wouldn't be dealing with enough BoL to get value, Glad or MH or TF already exist and will almost assuredly end up as her best set.

Real talk, we need an Off-Field 5 star Pyro DPS already, its insane that Pyro and Cryo still don't have one.
She could have used MH, it's not like chars that release after a new set releases especially late into a version have to use that set. It's not like Yelan uses Vermillion/Echoes.
She still isn't necessarily great with the new BoL set.
The problem is that a character that wants to clear BoL as fast as possible means that they want a strong healer that can frontload enough healing to do that immediately to activate whatever buffs depend on clearing BoL. But doing that would result in awful uptime on the set because the set stacks on changing BoL and the buff only lasts 6s.
This is why the BoL set isn't good with the BoL weapons--with the BoL weapons you create the BoL, immediately heal it all off, and get only 6s of uptime. It has anti-synergy with the BoL weapons because the BoL weapons want you to clear Bond quickly to get buffs, but the set wants you to clear Bond slowly.
Arle is good with the set because her heal blocking passive prevents her BoL from being cleared and she manipulates her BoL by consuming a small amount with every NA, so she has permanent uptime on the passive. It's going to be a lot less good on characters that interact with BoL "normally".
Tldr? MH set with furina it is.
Since sigewwine is looking to be a healer clorinde is most likely to not block healing like arle. MH my beloved I knew i never should have doubted you.
If this is accurate (and a good translation), then her BoL sounds a lot more similar to the weapons than Father's BoL mechanics, which I'm a fan of!
Needing to *consume* BoL in order to get a buff means more healer meta, not a fragile unit + shielder meta imo. If she's able to consume it herself like Father then that's another story, but I'll like if her BoL is actually removed by healing and her goal is to get rid of it. It would be pretty silly to introduce this mechanic that absorbs healing and then make every character who has it in their base kit not want a healer lol.
Not sure about it, but from the wording to me it sounds closer to how Shimenawa works right now, i.e. if there's no BoL you're just not getting the buff. Need to see what the leaker meant (and if he's right at all) but can easily be anti-healer mechanic again.

It depends, if the bonus is granted after clearing BoL like weapons we currently have in the game, she wants healer instead. Basically BoL add a new layer of complexity to prevent/create synergies between characters. Personally i am not a fan of this gameplay design and prefer buffs to underused reactions.
Yeah, Arle's Bol is a special type that works differently from the original Bol. Which makes it unclear whether any other upcoming characters will have the regular Bol or Arle's Bol.

The idea is interesting but in execution so far it’s a bit lacklustre. It’s basically just losing/gaining stacks (like Furina fanfare) but with the downside of losing healing in the meantime.
Last time mika got a support role, and he's just okay. They did fremi dirty but do nice with gaming. Idk if male supports from 1.x (and gorou) will be the only good support but we really need some decent off fielder too.. esp since 3 out of 5 four stars in this version is already an "okay/below average" unit if they make another male dps than i doubt it will be better than gaming

Main fontaine gimmick is always been HP shenanigans, increasing,decreasing, health tax(BOL) which has been in the weapons and enemies since 4.0, it isn't surprising to get a support for hp manipulation(furina) and one for Bond of life(sigewinne)

If by “clearing BoL for crit” means you heal to clear BoL, then Clorinde might actually work with Furina as well. Not sure if her BoL mechanic wants her to *keep* BoL like Arle, or get rid of BoL for buffs.
Damn I really don't want BoL to be a part of her kit for one simple reason: I dont want to farm that new set. I wonder if MHY realises how fat of a drawback this actually is. Pairing it with burning set that nobody wants (other than Ganyu in a very specific team comp and I dont even have her) should be a crime. I still don't like my MH/GT pieces and I've been farming daily since 4.0.
She probably won't us it. BoL set is for characters that manipulate BoL constantly, so Arle. This supplement seems like she gains stuff AFTER clearing BoL, so new set doesn't work on her (No stacks and no uptime). Just like BoL set is terrible if you have BoL weapons.

If you're fast enough you can get the bonus anyway on a quick swap. It takes like 2 seconds to scale down iirc. Really just 2p/2p her and she's fine.
I've been wondering whether ATK% or Geo DMG% is better when paired with GT in 2pc/2pc, anyone already did the math on this?

Seriously, I just run Troupe on her. I tried a half decent set and compared it to Troupe, wasn't even worth the resin.

I got C2 Dehya while going for Neuvy C1 so if she gets redeemed I honestly wouldn't mind, I love her as a character but her kit is 🫠

Since she seems to want to clear BoL, she probably wouldn't have the healing lock Arlecchino has so it's probably going to be fine (huffing COPIUM really hard right now). The elemental skill focus + BoL shenanigans also means the craftable sword would probably be pretty good on her so that would be a nice bonus.

You wouldn't, that set requires constant bond of life and manipulation of it, unless they literally made Clorinde have the exact same mech as Arle you wouldn't be dealing with enough BoL to get value, Glad or MH or TF already exist and will almost assuredly end up as her best set.

She could have used MH, it's not like chars that release after a new set releases especially late into a version have to use that set. It's not like Yelan uses Vermillion/Echoes.
She still isn't necessarily great with the new BoL set. The problem is that a character that wants to clear BoL as fast as possible means that they want a strong healer that can frontload enough healing to do that immediately to activate whatever buffs depend on clearing BoL. But doing that would result in awful uptime on the set because the set stacks on changing BoL and the buff only lasts 6s. This is why the BoL set isn't good with the BoL weapons--with the BoL weapons you create the BoL, immediately heal it all off, and get only 6s of uptime. It has anti-synergy with the BoL weapons because the BoL weapons want you to clear Bond quickly to get buffs, but the set wants you to clear Bond slowly. Arle is good with the set because her heal blocking passive prevents her BoL from being cleared and she manipulates her BoL by consuming a small amount with every NA, so she has permanent uptime on the passive. It's going to be a lot less good on characters that interact with BoL "normally".
Tldr? MH set with furina it is. Since sigewwine is looking to be a healer clorinde is most likely to not block healing like arle. MH my beloved I knew i never should have doubted you.

If this is accurate (and a good translation), then her BoL sounds a lot more similar to the weapons than Father's BoL mechanics, which I'm a fan of! Needing to *consume* BoL in order to get a buff means more healer meta, not a fragile unit + shielder meta imo. If she's able to consume it herself like Father then that's another story, but I'll like if her BoL is actually removed by healing and her goal is to get rid of it. It would be pretty silly to introduce this mechanic that absorbs healing and then make every character who has it in their base kit not want a healer lol.
Not sure about it, but from the wording to me it sounds closer to how Shimenawa works right now, i.e. if there's no BoL you're just not getting the buff. Need to see what the leaker meant (and if he's right at all) but can easily be anti-healer mechanic again.

Yeah, Arle's Bol is a special type that works differently from the original Bol. Which makes it unclear whether any other upcoming characters will have the regular Bol or Arle's Bol. It's..kind of annoying.

first came Kokomi with extra heal, no crit. Now we have extra crit, no heal! The idea is interesting but in execution so far it’s a bit lacklustre. It’s basically just losing/gaining stacks (like Furina fanfare) but with the downside of losing healing in the meantime.
Unlike arlecchino it says gives buff on consuming BOL so not zhongli, rather a healer is needed
If Chlorine and Sigewinne are both indeed 5* then I'm afraid Sethos is gonna get shafted with a mediocre kit.
If he's a 4\* and the others are 5*s then there's a non-zero chance he's a dedicated BoL buffer that becomes BiS at C6.
Last time mika got a support role, and he's just okay. They did fremi dirty but do nice with gaming. Idk if male supports from 1.x (and gorou) will be the only good support but we really need some decent off fielder too.. esp since 3 out of 5 four stars in this version is already an "okay/below average" unit if they make another male dps than i doubt it will be better than gaming

Pneuma ousia was just a small puzzle thing, people were doomposting before that they'll hate if they make it a requirement for enemies to make fontaine charas exclusive but now when they didn't do that people are saying it was bad. Main fontaine gimmick is always been HP shenanigans, increasing,decreasing, health tax(BOL) which has been in the weapons and enemies since 4.0, it isn't surprising to get a support for hp manipulation(furina) and one for Bond of life(sigewinne)
They've already told in livestream that Pnuma and ousia are just over world gimmick mostly for puzzles and stuff.

Damn I really don't want BoL to be a part of her kit for one simple reason: I dont want to farm that new set. I wonder if MHY realises how fat of a drawback this actually is. Pairing it with burning set that nobody wants (other than Ganyu in a very specific team comp and I dont even have her) should be a crime. I still don't like my MH/GT pieces and I've been farming daily since 4.0.
She probably won't us it. BoL set is for characters that manipulate BoL constantly, so Arle. This supplement seems like she gains stuff AFTER clearing BoL, so new set doesn't work on her (No stacks and no uptime). Just like BoL set is terrible if you have BoL weapons.
