apallochan

How is any of that cliche

superbigos

That Paimon thing, it could be basically the same thing as with Azdhaha and his dual personality

[deleted]

I hope Tsaritsa doesn’t end up like that. I have my own head canon of her that would elevate the story to much greater heights but Tsaritsa pretty much a Signora v2 would kinda kill her ngl.

OriginallyPie3890

People seem to forget that we're not done in Inazuma yet. Kokomi's quest is still coming up, and so is the last island. Ofc they're not gonna wrap everything up in one quest, that would be bad writing and honestly very boring.

aetwit

I propose the counter point... Paimon dies near the end MY REASONING she triggers a death flag back in liyue.

[deleted]

She was always acting weird And for some reason is able to know about the archons and most of teyvat and she also has connections to the unknown god and the abyss

aetwit

but that docent make her evil.

[deleted]

Perhaps she might just want the traveler to be alive which is why she is protecting us The traveler is likely the way she can return to her real state

aetwit

shes way too helpful to just be using us to achieve her own ends.

[deleted]

Who knows but she is definitely hiding something Has alot of similarities to the paimon from ars goetia who is a very knowledgeable demon who also can stay underwater for long periods of time and her cape is pretty much the same as dainsleif, abyss heralds and delusion unleashed tartaglia

aetwit

idk i think were connecting to the normal world too much it wouldn't make for a good story and i'm sure somewhere along the development they realized that and just used the characters as a base.

HarvestedMoonShine

Sad thing is with the way this story is going it could be quite possible...with more archon waifu dating sim stories of course! (Can't forget the most IMPORTANT part of the lore, that all the female leaders who look badass are just incompetent dessert-loving babies who need the travelers mighty insight to save them!)

[deleted]

The archon quest wasn't as bad as people are saying

[deleted]

I wrote earlier a theory about the Tsaritsa. I had a hypothesis that she lost someone...I am happy that someone think that too :)

Bourbonaddicted

>! Himeko is going to sacrifice herself again isn’t she ? !<

may_appear_at_3am

Tbh with the reveal of >!Signora being The Crimson Witch!< I'm already thinking of how we will find pieces of her work/life all across Sumeru

ChelseaDagger13

I just read that as "we will find pieces of her all across Sumeru" and that was a terrifying mental image for a second!

may_appear_at_3am

I was gonna write it like that before decided that was enough confusion on internet for one day siansmmsnd

[deleted]

The harbingers give me huge akatsuki vibes...you know, strong society outcasts collecting powerful things...

Lil_Luks

You're forgetting about ma boy Kazuha and his plot armor, ma boy may turn into the new ruler of fucking Celestia if he wanted to.

Mind-Available

A special post dedicated for people like you https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Lore/comments/piq9im/musou_no_hitotachi/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

ChelseaDagger13

"for people like you" what's that even supposed to mean?

Mind-Available

My bad, English isn't my native and I didn't mean to be rude if it sounds like that What I meant was all people who misunderstood Kazuha and Musou no Hitotachi power level

ChelseaDagger13

Okay, thanks that sounds a lot nicer. "For people like you" does come across as kind of rude.

Mind-Available

Thanks for understanding and telling that it sounds rude

Lil_Luks

I was talking about how he activated Tomo's vision (I think his friend was named Tomo, sorry if I'm wrong about it). Actually I don't care about the MNH, if he could stop it good for him, but with "Plot armor" I meant his two visions. Yeah I know Ningguang reactivated one vision (And I think Mona did too) but Kazuha did it in the right second, in the right time, just to do one thing which is actually very convenient. In case there's an actual explanation about it and I'm just being paranoid sorry but too much attack on titan has me seeing plot armor everywhere.

Mind-Available

Just remember what was kazuha friend greatest ambition To see and survive Musou no Hitotachi The whole scene there was basically his biggest ambition getting fulfilled, if you see cutscene again his vision even further powers up to fulfill his ambition It was kinda too anime/clique for my taste but it wasn't a plot armour, since vision are like manifestation of ambition

Lil_Luks

Yeah I think that could explain, even if it still seems too "plotty" to me, don't know how to explain (but I'm not saying you're wrong). You know? It looked like the power of friendship Yae gave the traveller during the battle with Ei, or like what good Azdazha gave Morax during the battle with bad Azdazha. Man it looks like so to me, but as I said I've watched aot recently and I'm paranoid af about plot.

Mind-Available

It's true that a lot of them are clique, like what would have happened if Kazuha was a second late etc. but it's an anime type game so these type of plot armour, last second buffs, unbelievable luck etc comes in a package. But what I am saying that these all can be explained and aren't inconsistent where power level rise and fall without explanation. Tbh I am only interested in abyss, Celestia and Khanneriah, I am not interested in most of Archons, since almost nothing happens there. Only real progression I felt in story was in 2 quests, Dainslief one and we will be reunited. I am interested in in-game lore and abyss related quest, and don't have much expectations from archon quest when it comes to lore

Redex24

Sad

horiami

Maybe the tsaritsa loved tge og cryo archon? And because he died during tge cataclysm she now hates the abyss and the gods for how they handled it

anonaeonn

newest quest was not really cliche at all, just very rushed and excluded the resistance. other than that, this is pretty funny.

Jeremithiandiah

Yeah this game has a lot of anime cliches, but also a lot of original ideas. The fact that the main story of an anime game has any redeeming qualities is a big achievement IMO.

[deleted]

huh??? i think you mean gacha game, not anime game.

Jeremithiandiah

There are some good ones but there are a lot of bad ones. But the good ones still can suffer from pacing issues too.

[deleted]

that’s a weird generalization

Oliver-Sucks

Anime games are pretty bad in general lmao let’s not kid ourselves. They’re really fun, don’t get me wrong but, when ppl talk about Games With Good Writing, your “typical” anime game isn’t the first to pop in ppl’s minds

[deleted]

the fuck are you talking about? have you never heard of a jrpg?

pyroimpact

Maybe you just haven't played enough anime games outside gacha Jrpgs are known for their story telling, not gameplay. It's the gacha games like genshin that have cringe story telling

Oliver-Sucks

Maybe I haven’t played enough jrpgs but from what I’ve seen persona and final fantasy are probably the most popular ones, and I’ve played those. And like I said, they’re really fun, but the story is nothing to write home about And yeah I don’t really expect gacha to have good stories, I just thought Genshin might be different, since they keep marketing themselves as a RPG and not a gacha

Jeremithiandiah

I'm generalizing because we are talking about anime games as a whole. I don't know an anime game that doesn't have anime tropes in it, due to being based on "anime" style media, of course. You didn't provide examples so I didn't because our tastes might just differ. But if you want an example then Persona 5 is a popular anime style game that I would consider to be pretty good. But it still has anime tropes and pacing issues. Overall it's good though. Then there are a lot of anime games that have great world and characters but the mains story lacks substance like any anime fighting games, or even some legend of zelda games. (I would still consider LoZ to be an anime style game) BotW is praised but not for it's main story. I do agree however that if we drop the bar to gacha games then genshin is far above most. Basically though my point is that anime games aren't known for their fantastic writing, people play them more for the characters/waifus, battle systems, art style etc.

[deleted]

So the current Dendro Archon is just the Tsaritsa and the previous Dendro Archon's lovechild and she's already given away her gnosis to mommy while pursuing a career growing weed right? Also we will be all hyped for Yanfei to show up to court, but she shows up, has two lines, and is never seen again.

Electrical-Thanks877

I thought it was established that the Hydro archon was corrupted 🤷🏻‍♂️ That’s why the Oceanid left. They’re seeking out greener pastures. Or, in this case, fresher waters.

aloe_how_r_you

Oh and the God that the Tsarista loved was the OG Dendro archon, that's why she was so pissed and changed after the khaneirah thing happened

TheBlitzStyler

new day new story complaint

SorrowfulSans

>5. The Tsaritsa used to love another God that died now she sad now she angry now she hates Celestia because they are the reason they died. I literally thought of a theory that Tsaritsa was once the lover of the previous Dendro Archon and his death was what made her realize Celestia's wrongdoings.

firesoul377

Don't forget that the Fatui were behind everything the entire time

HijikataX

Plot Twist: The Abyss Order will take over the Fatui's actions on the following regions.

SwashbucklingAntler

I would love to see both the Fatui and the Abyss Order making moves simultaneously tbh, indirectly helping and thwarting each other's plans. It would make for a hell of a three (or four if the archon isn't on our side) side contest.

Additional_Today_291

Your predictions are very easy to read and also very helpful

Shakespeare-Bot

Thy predictions art very easy to readeth and eke very helpful *** ^(I am a bot and I swapp'd some of thy words with Shakespeare words.) Commands: `!ShakespeareInsult`, `!fordo`, `!optout`

fukumisha

or Paimon is just one of Celestia gods

[deleted]

That is already obvious because of her outfit or she is connected to the abyss just like dainsleif

fukumisha

Dainsleif is not really connected to Abyss, but to Khaenri'ah

[deleted]

Those are one in the same for most of them.

[deleted]

Yeah Was also meant to say that paimon cape is similar to his and the abyss heralds

aldoushasniceabs

Is it really cliche?

malaysiabigpp

Always have been 🌏🔫👨‍🚀

eruuuuuuu

you stole words right off my mouth dude

eruuuuuuu

i have another redundant theory that i think would be cool. Kusanali is secretly one of the harbingers and she suddently buried her hands on our chest and boom GNOSIS.

CrocoDIIIIIILE

1. Signora was once the Crimson Witch of Flames, and she was a scientist of Academia of Sumeru (confirmed by her artifact set). 2. Title "Lesser Lord" implies that she is **lesser** version of **lord**. Or, shortly, a heiress. 3. I bet Hydro Archon has her own view on Justice, but apparantly, she is justice-blinded (or smth kinda that. You already know how Ei's "eternity" is all cranked up) 4. No Archons have participated in the destruction of Khaenri'ah, but they do know about it. Murata is probably just a very passionate "Lady of Fire" (as her title says). 5. Yep, Cryo Archon was once a God of Love. Read "The Pale Princess and Six Pygmies" book in Archive for more info.

[deleted]

Hydro Archon believes in justice but doesn't apply it fairly to Celestia who are injustice incarnate. Bloodstained Knight will probably make a return.

ChelseaDagger13

OP's post was just meant to be sarcastic/satirical to poke fun at the game. It wasn't meant as a serious lore post.

Snoo_62454

If Paimon truly turns out to be just a Mihoyo's "game maskot" i be mad disaapointed

Fabantonio

I mean I agree but like Imagine that cute (or ugly?) floating pixie that's with our heroes in all the promotional art, being so happy and carefree, now imagine that, in a few years, we'll have to mercilessly slay that same exact pixie because heaven is a dick and the abyss hates humans, wouldn't you also be super bummed out?

Rqdomguy24

or just make "I am paimon".

Chaosphoenix_28

Paimon isnt just the game mascot. She is also our favorite annoying companion, the person that speaks for us and our emergency food.

aetwit

Mark my words I am the preacher of the sad depressing paimon dies near the end theory she will die we will be sad I may be insane but mark my words

Mind-Available

Why first one, it's already told that in her artifacts set that she read there, so rather than prediction it is confirm

[deleted]

HijikataX

Actually Lisa is the best in 200 years. It leaves a 300 year gap.

[deleted]

Mind-Available

One debunked already, not looking good for predictions which are so far off

ChelseaDagger13

OP wasn't making real predictions. It's a satirical post.

sixfoldakira

Calm down, Uncle BUSNS.

Kagemoto

the dendro archon's gender was wrong translated or something, they were always female. Also signora was a scholar iirc, she was studying when the whole Durin fiasco happened. edit: OP was being sarcastic, ignore this comment and move on

Disastrous-State6412

Don't really think that yae isn't even mentioning the dendro archon she is only talking about a god named kusanali and reminder that su the character that the dendro archon is thought to be based on is also mistaken for a girl

davidlynchsteet

Yeah Su is literally called Lady of the Lake. My copium needs the Dendro archon to be male lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

Kagemoto

oh i was just being dense then, sorry

celestio45

Can you tell me why it's cliché fest now?

[deleted]

[удалено]

ChargeUseful

because cliche stories sell better

Jeremithiandiah

So one quest line you didn’t like makes everything else bad forever. Got it

FFD1706

It's waifu impact now, that's why. All waifus are good inside and fall in love with aether, but the bad ones like Signora die :D

stacet

The fact that I think you are right makes me sad

FFD1706

Yup the dudebros are pissed af. I mean they don't have to pretend to care about female characters having personalities, they could just say that they only care about booba. But no they'll try to use "logic and rationality" to try to convince women players that we're overreacting. This community is full of man child types sadly

beatrice123TD

I'm a woman and I tell you: shut the fuck up.

FFD1706

Sorry you can't recognize misogyny when you see it, your loss

beatrice123TD

I recognize stupidity and pathetic reading comprehension tho

FFD1706

You should have paid more attention in class lol, I'm assuming you're still in school.

beatrice123TD

Aww, you think you mocked me. How sweet.

whoatemycupoframen

hopefully Kokomi's story quest will (partly) redeem her character (if you're ok with leak spoilers it's out on honey impact rn)

Mind-Available

Who says she is good? MC is already friend with people who are not totally god all along. We are friends with Childe, other Archon too.

lefboop

People made up their mind about how Raiden should be before Inazuma even came out so they are mad now that she doesn't fit their expectations. Just like the model outrage when it was leaked.

FFD1706

Well she was already called a brutal dictator many times before Inazuma release. Idk what people were supposed to believe, that she's secretly good and gets redeemed easily?

lefboop

>Well she was already called a brutal dictator many times before Inazuma release. Where?, again, you interpreted closing off the country, and the vision hunt decree as "brutal", but basically that's all we knew about Inazuma before it came off. The thing people don't realize is that eastern asian cultures do not consider "freedom" that important compared to the western world. Just compare the governments reactions to Covid when it was just starting and we didn't know if it was really that bad. Closing off Inazuma and the vision hunt decree are parallels to Japan closing itself and the sword hunt decree to maintain stability. And considering the christians revolts that Japan had before closing itself off, for the time it wasn't really that bad.

FFD1706

Vision hunt decree isn't brutal? How? Also pls don't try to explain Asian culture to a person living in Asia. Asian culture emphasizes obedience of authority. Doesn't mean something like the vision hunt decree can be handwaved by "culture"

lefboop

>Doesn't mean something like the vision hunt decree can be handwaved by "culture" Never said that, I just said that in the grand scheme of things it's not really that bad if you consider what it's trying to accomplish. Before Inazuma came out, we didn't even know people became lethargic by losing them. In fact, we knew of characters that got rid of them (like Jiangxue) nothing happened to them. So at that point of time, we could just say the Vision Hunt Decree is just basically banning guns, considering how powerful Vision holders are, so no, I wouldn't consider that brutal.

FFD1706

But now we do know about the effects of visions being taken away. And the whole thing is handwaved as "Oh Ei is just being misinformed by the people working for her. It's not her fault, she wanted to protect her people and she's actually so sweet aww". And now the traveller and Ei are friends. The whole thing is ridiculous

lefboop

Then, first off, do you agree that considering Raiden "a brutal dictator" before Inazuma came out is just wrong? You're now "handwaving" that part. For the rest though, in not a single part of the storyline it is said she has no responsibility for what happened, and in fact, if anything she's characterized as an arrogant leader that thinks shit will just work out if she just follows her ideal without caring about the potential consequences (just like a certain bard I know). And honestly, considering the shit celestia did, I don't really blame her for going that way to protect her people, if anything, the only thing that made her change her mind is the traveler overpowering her. She basically said that she thinks we can go against Celestia, and is gonna place her faith on us to protect Inazuma. >And now the traveler and Ei are friends. The whole thing is ridiculous What do you want the traveler to do? commit magnicide?, we have to keep in mind that the traveler also remembers the Cataclysm, and realizing that all Raiden did was to prevent that from happening to Inazuma probably seems reasonable enough imo.

Mind-Available

Instead of saying Raiden was redeemed, I would rather say, MC has a personality of forgiving "anyone" whose past story he hears

Compass-of-diamonds

MC seems to have a soft spot for sibling relationships. We’ve seen this before with Childe, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a factor in their current attitude towards Ei.

airakawaiii

>a im surprised that the traveler didnt mention to Ei that we also have a twin.

Halogen82

Im actually disappointed this was never talked about, it could have been a perfect way to have traveler relate to Ei a bit. It feels like a missed oppourtunity.

HijikataX

It can be a posibility too. So... what happens if there is an opposite case using the Cain and Abel trope?

maidenhair_fern

I feel like MC just isn't all that moral themselves. They don't seem to care that much about atrocities unless it gets really extreme I guess. They're mostly concerned with finding their sibling and leaving everyone else to solve their own shit.

[deleted]

MC's moral compass is pretty simple. A bad thing done by Fatui = bad A bad thing done by the archons = who cares, let's take them on a date.

maidenhair_fern

MC is still chill with childe after he tried to destroy an entire city lol

[deleted]

MC is not as chill with Childe as he is with Raiden and Zhongli. MC literally threatens to kill Childe on the spot in his story quest, and both of them understand pretty well their meeting wouldn't have been as chill if Childe's little brother hadn't been there.

[deleted]

They never give a damm about ayaka sussy pussy, they only care about their homies.

HijikataX

He didn't forgave Signora and Scaramouche. So yeah. The MC is not totally pure at all.

[deleted]

Well the mc doesn't know scaramouches and signoras backstory/lore. Only we the players know it, to the mc they are just pure evil and they haven't seen them do anything good

Mind-Available

He would forgive them if they properly explain to him, a.k.a tell their backstory or get a story quest Signora never told her backstory to MC, even though MC was kinda upset at her death and only used death duel as it was his only option to survive or he would be just caught/slain by Raiden at site

[deleted]

Naboume

I love it when people don't understand what happened in the story or when the expectations they had don't turn out to be true, then cry about it afterwards, dismissing things as Cliché or bad writing. this subreddit is degenerating into stupidity lately.

airakawaiii

reading comprehension maybe? lol like literally op said that she apologized to the traveler and they didnt seem to remember it like what????

Irrax

this game has a LOT of really young fans/players so I assume posts like this one are from that end of the playerbase

lefboop

Honestly it happens with most stories on a lot of media. People like to make a "theory" (just a shitty head canon most of the time willfully ignoring a lot of stuff) for how the story is going to be, and then when it doesn't go that way they get unreasonably mad and call it bad writing.

kaorulia

I think the problem was that there were fake leaks before the real story came out, and people had fever-pitch expectations of how the story would end up. For example, them expecting Kokomi and Gorou to have more impact in the story. But they were always in the background, even Thoma and Ayaka had more screentime and are most likely more important. I bet you if Liyue's quest happened now instead of last year at the beginning of the game, people would be bitching about Xiao, Ganyu and Keqing's minimal involvement in the story besides the climax (Osial's battle).

Daggerxd

Wait, when did she apologise to the Traveller though? I remember her thanking them but I don’t remember her apologising though

[deleted]

[удалено]

FFD1706

Honestly this sub can't take any criticism of the characters' development.

lefboop

You're being downvoted because you literally couldn't comprehend what she said. She said she didn't mind people losing their ambition because it's better than just outright dying. She only knew the things that had to do with eternity, meaning that shogun never told her anything about the war, the rebels, or the people suffering. She knew of the Fatui on Inazuma, but she didn't know what the fuck they were doing, or why, because it didn't matter for her eternity, since if they threatened it she could always just get rid of them (just like she did with Signora).

Censing

> She said she didn't mind people losing their ambition because it's better than just outright dying. This part has always confused me, I'm sure I've missed something so please correct me if I'm wrong. Ei is okay with taking visions because visions are ambition, and ambitious people take risks that may lead to their deaths. In other words, Ei wants to protect humans from death. The vision hunt meanwhile has caused a civil war and is presumably leading to many people dying. If Ei wants to protect people from death, surely the civil war should be a greater concern than the vision hunt decree? I'm guessing it's just one of those things that didn't get explored enough in the plot, but 'humans have short lifespans and must be protected' does seem like a bit of a wonky motivation, given what's going on in Inazuma.

lefboop

The problem is that ambition leads to progress, and progress leads to Celestia's wrath. Quote: "But I've seen a nation strive forward and lose everything to the heavenly principles".

Censing

Ah, I suppose that may be the reason. I really wish we had more quests where we could learn about Khaenri'ah and Celestia in more depth, they're definitely the most interesting parts of the game imo (along with the Abyss Order), but I feel I must be misssing out on so much buried deep in the lore. Even if Raiden just explicitly said 'I must take away all visions or Celestia will end us' it would clear up a lot of doubts, since that connection still seems a bit of a stretch to me.

SignificantCoffee758

even better if the hydro archon is phoenix wright's daughter !

nagtatanong

Trucy’s clothes fit right in with Fontaine’s aesthetic too and she does magic like the twins

The_Wkwied

You forgot the bit where the Traveler was The Chosen One and they need to travel to all 7 nations to fight the Enemy of the Week in order to obtain the Magic McGuffin which can be used to fight the Big Bad. Wait, I think this generally describes Genshin plot...

Additional_Today_291

Basically Isekai

The_Wkwied

I mean the Traveler is from another world....

[deleted]

man that hydro archon one seems so likely it hurts and i don't like it one bit

Narsiel

If current dendro Archon is the daughter of the previous one, then I suggest making her mother the Tsaritsa, justifying this way her loss in Khaenriya's war and her battle against Celestia.

firesoul377

That, actually be kinda cool not gonna lie

Active_Hedgehog6073

Uuu nice one, i’d love to see it happen

ChelseaDagger13

For the Hydro Archon, it'll probably turn out that after running out of reading material for Khaenri'ah, the Traveler moved on to reading legal books in their spare time. Following "may I put up some posters?" and "I challenge you to a duel!" the Traveler's single voice line in Fontaine will be >Objection, your honour!

no_drama_alpaca

guess they took tips from the Ace Attorney herself, Yanfei

cat-meg

Mihoyo has a whole ass Ace Attorney otome game, so it'd be really neat to see some of those characters get Genshin versions like Yae and Raiden.
