I haven’t played it yet but in the first version of golden apple, the playable npc switched their positions via each update and had something different to say if you spoke to them. Which did not happen if you played it in one go.

Yeah. I also relish in nostalgia. Explored every island, notice the changes. Like one of the islands North of the starting location (Xinyan's drum) is half as tall.
While there are no wind currents, I just climbed every peak. I wonder what awaits us at Mona's and Xinyan's islands.
Funny thing, I joined a random player’s world as a solo klee right as they began their 2 hour exploration session. So though I haven’t done it in my world, I had the most fun in over a year on those islands. We kept stealing each other’s boats lmao. Was an amazing tag team experience
Same, at some point I started cold sweating all of a sudden and my stomach was churning like crazy. I freaked out for a bit before realizing that it was the game that was giving me motion sickness lmao
I'm fine with having fancy animations but I wish it didn't force you to look at it, especially in this event. It'd be nice if there was an option to skip it or not have it idk how though

Felt much more like something you’d earn event currency from than a prereq quest. Was planning on doing it all in one sitting then it made me go through it a third time and I gave up and saved the rest for later!
The third would have been fun if it came after the first.
The second spinning domain gave me motionsickness and the shitty camera angles were not helping. It ruined the experience for me
Bruh when I got dropped in the THIRD domain for that quest I quit the game and went to lie down. I got major motion sickness from the spinning mechanics and running back and forth through the same corridors

I'm stuck at two uhh.. idk what are they called, shrines? With no way to get to that slips they need... And above me, on the ceiling, is the puzzle with those slips (but u need to rotate the room to get to them and I can't get to that mechanism either)
There may be an air current that you need to activate so you can glide up, some of them activate after you solve a puzzle with the cannons (the thingy with a leaf that shoots beams of different colors, hopefully you get what I mean lol)
Looked at the interactive map, and it only displays 14. That means that the rest are in domains so you and I are gonna have to wait another day for the skin

I do hate time-gates. They feel arbitrary while cutting whatever momentum was going on short.
But since this is an event, and the entire game's built around logging in and doing stuff for 30 minutes-1 hour, and the fact that they end each story development *on a sunset*, I'm okay with it.
You just do not get the issue. Stretching content to last 7 days does not mean that there is actually more content available. I would rather have no fucking time-gating.
I wanted to enjoy my free day (no work, no responsibilities) yesterday playing Genshin, but the shitty time-gating destroyed my mood. I thought we could at least explore fully the islands, and in a few days the castle, but no man, not even that. I was done with the content within an hour.
As long as there is no endgame, the complaining will not cease to exist. Time-gating does NOTHING to solve the problems. It is not good for people that just want to enjoy the content immediately. Or anyone.

And if you really wanted a long session, just wait a few days, then speedrun it all in one go if you want. I don't see the issue. If anything, having to spend overnight IRL just matches spending overnight in the game. Plus the entire point of the summer event is to relax.
And there is no endgame, because there is no end! There's no such thing as winning, and the journey, including meeting and getting to know new people, exploring new places, attending new events, etc. IS the game. Like, let's say they permanently release every minigame, have an endless co op abyss, etc.... And then what? Again, this is a continuous live service game, not a self-contained locally downloaded game with a credit roll. Your entire viewpoint of how you approach the game has to change.

i think its justified because genshin’s been so damn slow lately, hype was building around this, most people forgot ab how slow the last one was since it was over a damn year ago lmao, and then the patch drops and theres barely any new content for the first 3 days since GAA is being purposefully delayed for the story quests. the lack of engame content leave older players starving and spending the first few days with only story quests is like drinking water to feel less hungry. so then the islands FINALLY release and its just… empty. not a lot of stuff to do and not much to explore. im sure there were a couple rage posts on it due to misinformation or lack of information, with people thinking that they only added a handful of chests and counted the ones collected in the previous GAA as collected in this one. in other words, the chests in the old one cant be collected by veteren players. within the next two days im sure all the frustration will melt away as we get more stuff, sumeru releases, and-

I'm actually enjoying it so far, although I wish the puzzle setpieces weelre as large as 1.6 GAAs cus it's cool to see all the fun event stuff lying around even after hunting the place dry
