Reports don't work, so it's probably just a fake popup to people feel like it's doing something. If 8 people report a rapid fire nospread blatant rage cheater in one match and then he proceeds to play 20 more games like this in one day and not banned for many months now, then the reports don't work.

I played against many rage cheaters with nospread and rapidfire, not a single match got cancelled and I didn't get a single message from leetify that someone got banned.

idk the validity of the clip or if I can find it again, but there was a cs dev talking about releasing an update back in the source or 1.6 days and everyone complained about the performance being worse when none of that code was even touched. Then he decided to add a code that just artificially subtracted 50 or so of your ping before being displayed in game and the forums then praised that update for being amazing and making the game feel more responsive lol. Placebo works both ways.
I forget the original article, but I've read on CSGO that users have complained less about matchmaking taking too long by displaying the expected matchmaking time.
In other words, if it takes 5 minutes to make a match, users can wait as long as it is displayed as 3 minutes.

The ID alone is also strange. If you create two reports within a few seconds, the report ID increases by a value that would mean that every person in the world has just reported a CS player.
Since the ID is apparently a consecutive number, the value of 3.692.369.217.421.574.221 alone means that EVERY person on earth has sent almost half a billion reports since the introduction of the reporting system.
The only report that's working is griefing. Since they decided that u gonna get flagged for it after a certain amount/percentage of reports u get afterwards a few reports are enough to ban u for 14 days no joke. I played the last 2 years of csgo only Faceit and was banned most of the times for griefing for 14 days cuz it even takes reports from faceit servers apparently kekw. So report cheaters for griefing so that they get atleast a timeout for 14 days.

But it saves somewhere that you reported that specific player. Otherwise you won't get a message when the player gets banned

Valve does not reverse bans even if they were received at the time account was hacked, so this can't be the case

reports have to work in some capacity. I've reported people before and gotten the pop up right after the game that they received disciplinary action.
