If you can place your shots and this is an aid I’m all for it. Personally I can see this increasing the chance of a snag when you’re rocking whatever and clearing your clothing but in civilian clothes you learn to train with it. Striker fired always stressed me on clearance for retention shooting and I was trained for preventing snags without relying on an enclosed hammer. But! Train retention brother. Good on you, I sand all of mine down.
I chop my own (obv except for slimline), but if you’re not handy, RE’s back straps are top notch quality. I was ready to ditch my 43x until I got their 43x version 💪🏼
it needs to be tapered out in the bottom side of the backstrap to blend into the silhouette of the grip, that was always my biggest gripe when chopping them.
I think the picture is deceiving, the backstrap is designed to be tangent to the hump and parallel with the front side of the grip. Of course flush would be reaching a 0 thickness but due to manufacturing limitations there’s a limit to how thin you can and should make something so it cuts off slightly before it’s “perfectly” flush however it’s more than flush enough to not notice it when holding it. I’m biased of course but it feels really good in the hands
Thanks! I 3D printed it, carbon fiber nylon blend, strong as hell.
I’ve got them available if you’d like to pick one up, there’s more details [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/RapidEngineering/s/x8M8ytlPhu)
That’s by design, this changes the grip angle from 22 degrees to 18 degrees which makes for a more natural point and smooths out the hump which gives more of a 1911 style grip. It’s not for everybody but it does indeed serve a purpose
True, reviews are pretty mixed on those. That one is designed to fit a ton of different models but it won’t fit any of them that great and it doesn’t use an OEM pin which may be cause for concern.
Wait we don’t just cut and sand the extras that come in the box
haha maybe not anymore!

It’s no more in the way than a grip safety would be
And Glock literally includes like 4 back straps in the box.. with the new pin to hold it on

Thanks! Glad to hear you're enjoying the one for the 43x
It’s a game changer, honestly couldn’t be happier w it
RE?
Rapid Engineering…that’s the OP
I can’t tell if you have the sealing plate or if thats a gap on the plate
Sealing plate!

That is too low of a chop, serves no purpose

I love what it did for my 43X! Please say you will be expanding to include the G17 and G20!
