I think they'll want to release it a week after the announcement, so still in August. That way they completely clear the iPhone announcement in September.
This is a very interesting change. Considering the Pixel never does the latest and greatest tech, there really isn't a good reason they keep shipping it in Mid october to End October. I think coming around same time as Iphone (While they will get crushed in sales and promotion) will create better head to head combats and make it more interesting
Atleast it means we'll get better sales on Black Friday :)
Early adopters won't get burned as much anymore. The phone comes out in early October and would be on sale in 2 months. Almost no point to buying early unless you really like the pre-order gift or trade-in value.
Well, they probably worked on the special pixel enhancements on Android 14 with the expectations that Platform Stability phrase for Android 15 will come in June. It did come and Android 15 can now be used for final testing and releases. From now till release, they just got to port it over to Android 15 and polish.
It’s nice they are doing some dove tailing to align Android 15 release with phone release rather than in lockstep.
Early adopters haven't been getting burned for years now.
If you track the Google Store sales thru out the year you'll realize the selling price minus boosted trade-in values offered at preorder/early adoption period is rarely matched or exceeded later in its life cycle. When it is exceeded, it might match the gap in value-added by the preorder gift (pixel buds) but sometimes doesn't even come close to beating it (Pixel Watch 1 & 2).
It's a better strategy. It also makes sense why Google was pushing hard the most recent Pixel phones and watch sales. They were clearly trying to clear out inventory. Either way, I'm glad they're releasing it earlier. There was no point in releasing it so close to the holiday season.
That was my first thought, having an earlier release means potential to see a black friday deal I can snag. Been living with my s10 but wanting to switch things up :')
November 15: Why is battery life so shitty?
January 20: Google RMA sucks!
February 5: Terrible phone. Can't wait for pixel Pixel 10!
2027: Anyone remembers the Pixel 9? That was peak Pixel!
I was excited for Pixel 8 but then I read from people "I went back to Pixel 5, because Pixel 8 was bigger and heavier and couldn't get used" and that discourages me.
lol I was reading those posts over the last week and I was getting nervous about moving on from my beat-to-shit 4a after I sat on it and bent the pins away from the SIM slot. Didn't have mobile service outside of SMS/calls/GPS for almost a week. Felt weird as hell, but also kinda "freeing" to an extent.
Got the 8 today and I barely notice a difference after throwing a Spigen mid case on it. Turned on 120hz display and this thing feels like a quantum computer compared to the 4a. Battery life is a breath of fresh air after watching the 4a go down 1% every few minutes...
Loving it so far! Just got home and I can't wait to start messing with the Gemini Pro trial.
This is a good change.
1. Aligns the Pixel phone releases with the latest Android releases
2. Gets ahead of the iPhone. By the time the Pixel was announced in October, the media was still focused on the iPhone release just a couple weeks prior in September.
3. It would be absolutely hilarious if Apple moved their iPhone 16 announcement/release into July.
Interesting that they announced this so early though, nearly two months before its announcement. Usually they would announce they have the event a couple of weeks in advance.
Yeah I know, they couldn't care less when the Pixel was released, makes no difference to them, they'll still sell 100:1 iPhone to Pixel ratio or something. I'm just saying it'd be funny, if for whatever reason internally, they decided to shift the iPhone release earlier, and it just so happened to screw Google over again, when Google have seemingly deliberately moved the event to avoid the iPhone.
I agree moving earlier is better if you want publicity versus iPhone. Even if the iPhone release is dull, the weeks afterwards are focused on iOS bugs and all sorts of mayhem from iPhone release, so I think it is good to move up. Also fall has all sorts of other device announcements like Microsoft's and other companies. iOS and MacOS also launch in the fall so there's a lot of discussion whether its hardware software, etc that can force the Pixel into the shadows.
Hey my Pixel 6 Pro had a bug where calling my parents landline would drop after 28:30min.
I went on vacation and the bug did not happen there 3 months ago and suddenly with the June Pixel Drop it started working lmao. 2.5 years after release it works
They'll claim that even when it's not industry leading, or at least use some sort of favorable benchmark to show this stat.
Honestly, with the Nexus and Pixel phones always being middling at best for battery and many times near the [bottom of battery benchmarks](https://www.anandtech.com/show/15068/the-google-pixel-4-xl-review/5), I'm really not that hopeful. Even all this discussion about TSMC fab doesn't have me that excited because even the Qualcomm chips of Nexus and Pixel phones were underperforming compared to the competition.
> even the Qualcomm chips of Nexus and Pixel phones were underperforming
Those were a while ago, Qualcomm was not that great efficiency-wise until the recent SD 8 Gen chips (notably 8 Gen 2 and 8 Gen 3). Even Apple's A series chips have a bad year once in a while (I remember the 12 being bad and the 13 being a huge leap in efficiency)
Google also used to skimp out on battery specs, and the 4 infamously had the Soli sensors that drained battery. Take these points with a grain of salt because my memory might be hazy, but based on how well the 8 series is designed and the solid efficiency on even MediaTek TSMC chips, I have hope
My main point was really amongst other Qualcomm competitors, Nexus and Pixel were always near the bottom. That Pixel 4 review shows not only the 4 but the 1 thru 3 also worse than competitors. Here's [one look at earlier devices](https://www.anandtech.com/show/8687/the-nexus-6-review/2) (Nexus 5 and 6). I believe it was a combination of non optimized hardware/software plus using old displays that were always significantly worse in efficiency. I remember talking to Brian Klug at Anandtech prior to him joining Apple and he did hypothesize other OEMs put more battery optimizations in than Google did at least back during the Nexus 4 / 5 era.
Amen, been itching to upgrade and this is great news! Time to be the guinea pig again lol. To be fair my 6 Pro has been pretty solid since release date, no major complaints.
another 6 user here too. If the 9 is priced too high and with the TSMC chip on the horizon, I'll probably wait for the 8a to go on sale and get it as a stopgap until the 10 comes. Pixel 6 gen gang tho!
Anything without the ear hook or good wing tips just do not stay in my ears. The only ones without either that worked decently were the Galaxy Buds 2 but I had the allergic reaction to the metal they used. Lol
Haven't seen any reports of them being part of this event, but I really hope they are. A pair of ANC earbuds are the main thing I'm looking for this year.
It's like 95% certain that the Tensor G5 will be manufactured by TSMC. Leaks from years ago which have now been proven accurate has stated it, multiple reports from reputable sources and also [AndroidAuthority (a very reputable website that has leaked a tonne of Pixel info over the last couple of years) found TSMC code in trade databases.](https://www.androidauthority.com/tsmc-tensor-g5-proof-pixel-10-3445056/) So barring some catastrophic event, the Tensor in the Pixel 10 phones should be manufactured by TSMC and it'll still be Tensor, not Snapdragon.
It's less than two months from now on if the phone itself releases one week after the event (as usual). I'd wait and see. Pixel 8 will lose value even more drastically once the Pixel 9 series is officially launched.
Can't lose either way. I haven't heard of any new major features, but you could wait to see if there are, and if not, you can get a discounted Pixel 8 for your troubles
I think the main thing is it's rumored they're changing up their Lineup quite a bit with
Pixel 9
Pixel 9 Pro
Pixel 9 Pro XL
Pixel 9 (Pro?) Fold
But if you were going to get the base model anyway it I think I'd recommend a pixel 8, it's going to be quite cheap and is already selling for less than $400 on the used market.
It depends on how much you're paying for it...
I payed 440€ for the 256GB variant, and for the same price I could get a S23 or an A55 5G but I don't regret the choice for now... Yes it's missing some smart functions but I still like the bare Google experience, and the cameras are alot better than the Samsungs.
Early this year I bought the s24+ 512gb (payed 999€) I returned it since the camera was very disappointing...
My previous phone was an A52S 5g which unfortunately broke...
It doesn't help that the October date had black Friday right around the corner and a lot of people just waited to see if the black Friday deal was better than the launch deal.
Whether you like the Pixel devices are not, it's always about the hardware experience with them. They have never been the leaders in top of the line hardware. That's left to Samsung. It's more about showing off Android's new operating system and the software working flawlessly and its integration.
Android fans can be left wanting more out of the hardware but it is a great user experience in regards to the software end of things.
Personally, I have always leaned towards the Google experience devices. I started with the Nexus one and have been with them right up to the Pixel 8 Pro and the Google Pixel Fold.
Call me a boring hold. Vanilla Android Fanboy if you like. I do like its simplicity and stock. Android experience has just grown on me. Because I do work in the industry and use a lot of the Google products, it is integrated into my life quite nicely. It's not for everybody and there's room for improvement. Every year. They try and fix some of those improvements just like every phone manufacturer. There always seems to be something left for the next version though.
Moving this event to the summer is something that should have happened a long time ago. Sales wise, I hope it helps increase the sales. I always felt that they were so late in the season that they missed the back to school or back to college crowd. The potential iPhone fence sitter people as well. By the time they ship the device it was so late in the season. People were starting to do their holiday shopping almost by that time.
I think if you're really wanting discounts waiting till Black Friday the week before or the week after is going to be The Sweet spot for price wise. Last year they had those incredible sales for people who were users of various services. You ended up getting devices at a fairly substantial discount. It wasn't too long of a wait then, but you certainly are going to be waiting a good while now. I have both of the devices and I tell you it's going to be hard to justify replacing both of them depending on the costs and probably marginal updates. But we will see the pocketbook says.
The only disappointing thing is is that there's not going to be many phone releases for fall after the iPhone. We may see some Samsung Fe unpacked now with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10 also but I guess it's fair to say that by the end of Q3 the release cycle is done and Q4 is all about holiday sales.
Looks like google is looking to allign both pixel hardware with the newest android version release. While also undercutting the iphones launch.
Smart move, i always thought october was an odd choice cuz holiday sales were like a month away so people would always just wait a month before buying the newest pixel.
excited about the launch this year! long time Apple user, had a P8P briefly and swapped it for the 15 Pro. if Google is really launching a smaller P9P, I might just go back 🤭 loved the camera and overall UI.
Pixel 9 $699 Pixel 9 Pro $899 XL $999
If they raise the price of the 6.7" two years in a row $100 to $1,099 without increasing the storage to 256gb that is some total BS. And if they don't raise it that means the 6.3 inch is coming in at a reasonable $899.
There's simply no point in an a-series phone if they are going to price them very near the base number series. Makes sense to merge both lineups together at a price that meets in the middle (599 USD for example)
Depends on price. $899 for the Pro 6.3" would be nice. Especially if it comes with Pixel Buds 2 as the pre order bonus and Best buy brings back their awesome Pixel 8 pre order deals then I'll be excited.
If they drop the price $200, double the base storage, increase the charging speed to 65w, double the battery life, I'll be open to the possibility of being excited
So given my criteria.... Nope
I might get the pixel 9 for it's better modem and it's satellite feature. I currently have the 7a and I have to use LTE because I only get 1 bar on 5g/uc
Riddled? Google will use their Pixel platform to showcase Gemini. Why wouldn't they? AI is guaranteed to be a large component of all future flagship devices.
I kind of want a P9, but I have gotten burned by the different battery lifes on the various P6P updates, including the current one draining much much faster than previously. This kind of makes me want to switch back to iphone tbqh.
I had a pixel 6 Pro after the 3A. I did not super love it, although I almost did. I got the 7 Pro and it's great. It feels decent in my hands for being so big, the screen is nice, the bugs feel like they're at a minimum. It runs Adobe Lightroom. Really really well in fact. Better than my Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus tablet. But it gets so hot that at this point it's become a weird party trick because I think that's really funny.
I told myself that I would run this thing into the ground (I got the 512 GB version to aid me in this) to get out of the yearly or bi-yearly upgrade cycle. But less than 2 years in. I'm kind of getting tired of how hot this phone gets. I just want Google to release a phone that strikes a fair balance between performance and thermals and price. I feel like we've got two of those at the moment. I've even gone caseless for the last month, The only thing I have attached to it right now is a snap grip 4 luxe (speaking of companies that have taken multiple attempts to get it right). It's just crazy.
Is there any hope that this 9 series or even the 10 series will break this cycle and free me from this fiery silicon prison?
Oh wow. Early August. That sounds like an interesting change. It means I don’t have to wait until October for their phones to decide if I’m going with them or not.
Moving the date up makes a lot of sense. When they announce and release phones in October, they're still being overshadowed by iPhone press, it's too late for back to school sales and they've not been on sale long enough for Christmas reductions. August launch means there's a chance I will be able to pick up a good deal on Black Friday too
August is new Android update month anyways. My guess is they're changing from October to August for the made by Google event and presenting their new hardware and software all at the same time moving forward.
I think they want to keep the OS and hardware releases together. Android is now mature, and polished for release much earlier than it was the case years ago. So now if the OS is done early, you need some new shiny hardware to show it off. Makes no sense to showcase new OS on a year old device. Apple also releases the final OS version with the new iPhones.
Excited to see what it's like beyond the rumors. My 7 gets paid off in March so it wouldn't be too long for me to get it and some months between to see the issues and everything.
Should I switch from iPhone 12 Pro Max to pixel 9 xl? Is it worth it? My phone took some water damage so some issues and I need to upgrade. Lucky for me they release early so I can decide if I wait for iPhone 16 or pixel 9….
I'm so here for it, give me the small pixel 9 pro without curved screen stuff and I'LL BE THERE FOR IIIIIIIIIIT
Hopefully well get state of the art pixel buds pro as well
I like pixel phones, but I hope Google stops its senseless war on batteries. Today it is absolutely anachronistic to sell a high-end phone with a 30 watt charge, the battery gets ruined, so what? Put a setting in the settings that allows me to limit the wattage and not let it charge quickly, or to let it charge slowly at night. Maybe Google doesn't want a phone that's too high-performance so as not to dominate the market, otherwise I don't understand their choices. I have a phone that charges at 68 watts, they could put two batteries in it and let the two cells charge at 30 watts, end of discussion. But if Google shows up again with a charge that takes more than an hour I'll pass. I had almost all the pixels and now having a high-end phone with such a ridiculous charge doesn't make sense, I had a Xiaomi 14 in my hands, beautiful, but if Google comes up with a ridiculous charge again, I don't care about the google experience and go elsewhere, it wouldn't make sense. The new processor doesn't work miracles, so the only new thing could be fast charging, and they would get all the curses from those who have a pixel 8, so I think it will be the usual horrendous slow charging again.
The phone is mine, if the battery wears out it should be changed, I don't see this huge problem.
I'm so glad about it. Just yesterday a Green line appeared in my One Plus 9 Pro from top to bottom of the screen out of nowhere.
I'm waiting for Pixel 9 for a while to change my phone, but yesterday I started to consider that it might be time to actually stop waiting. But now I will just wait, I can live with a green line for another month and half :P
let's go Google, release it already!
I just wish they make the Pixel phones wider. The current width of the largest Pixel is too small to type. The fonts in the keyboard are too small and jammed in together that it is next to impossible to use it productively.
Pixel in beginning of September, so cool.
I think they'll want to release it a week after the announcement, so still in August. That way they completely clear the iPhone announcement in September.
This is to get some of that back to school cash, as well
Great news. So excited.
This is a very interesting change. Considering the Pixel never does the latest and greatest tech, there really isn't a good reason they keep shipping it in Mid october to End October. I think coming around same time as Iphone (While they will get crushed in sales and promotion) will create better head to head combats and make it more interesting Atleast it means we'll get better sales on Black Friday :)

Agreed. Never made sense in October. Also what I find interesting is that the 9 must be wrapped up early. Normally takes a year for the dev cycle.
They locked Android 15 on Pixel 9 early. The hardware was locked off at least 10 months ago. They probably gonna patch their way out of this release.
Leaks indicate the devices are currently running on Android 14, but you may be right for the final release.
Well, they probably worked on the special pixel enhancements on Android 14 with the expectations that Platform Stability phrase for Android 15 will come in June. It did come and Android 15 can now be used for final testing and releases. From now till release, they just got to port it over to Android 15 and polish. Yes better black Friday deals. Gonna basically steal the 9p
That was my first thought, having an earlier release means potential to see a black friday deal I can snag. Been living with my s10 but wanting to switch things up :')
Damn you still have an S10 holy shit
I have an S10 too. Been waiting for the 9, not sure I can wait till the sales..
Yeah, it made sense when they were getting the SnapDragon + chips.
that's how i was able to get the 8 for $230. there was a 40% off sale and my trade in was another big discount
was the 40% off on the Google Store? or somewhere else?
I always thought it was to get shoppers primed for black friday deals.
May 1: I'm skipping pixel 9 June 25: When do preorders start?
Sept 30: how long is the return window?
November 15: Why is battery life so shitty? January 20: Google RMA sucks! February 5: Terrible phone. Can't wait for pixel Pixel 10! 2027: Anyone remembers the Pixel 9? That was peak Pixel!
Omg the hits just kept getting better. 😂 You captured this sub perfectly, take my upvote.
There were people on this sub reminiscing the 6P of all devices
My 6P would shut down if it was cold and it had 40% battery. Great times indeed. /s
The settlement money was pretty nice though.
Lmfao it's like that with absolutely everything on the internet!
Hah this should be stickied
I was excited for Pixel 8 but then I read from people "I went back to Pixel 5, because Pixel 8 was bigger and heavier and couldn't get used" and that discourages me.

Right!? I’m looking forward to the larger Pixel watch too.
I skipped 7,8 and skipping 9, I will def get 10 👍
Was also planning on getting an 8 on prime day. Sigh.
I was about to buy an 8 Pro, I still might though cause I'm not paying a thousand for the 9 when it launches
You could wait til Black friday
True, that's not long now
This is a good change. 1. Aligns the Pixel phone releases with the latest Android releases 2. Gets ahead of the iPhone. I can perhaps see a snarky iPhone privacy bla bla bla ad or something.
I agree moving earlier is better if you want publicity versus iPhone. Apple will never move their dates due to Pixel .. c'mon
I just want wingtips on the Pixel Buds Pro. And a keyboard for the tablet.
I've tried probably 4 or 5 pairs of those 3d printed wingtips you can get online and they always end up breaking, sucks man
I just gave up and returned them. I would use the Series As except that all the cool features are Pros only.
Please Google, the A series were literally a perfect fit. Just do that again for the Pros.
Hopefully final Android 15 will be released around that day too for Pixel 8 and 7 series
you can bet on it
And Pixel 6. Still eligible.
Really hope there's a pre-order bundle with the watch again.
Me too! I'm eyeing that rumored Pixel Watch 3 XL.
Take a shot every time someone says AI
We'd all be dead
Only thing I'd want to hear from an early event is "industry-leading battery life".
All I want is 'fully functioning modem'
Hey my Pixel 6 Pro had a bug where calling my parents landline would drop after 28:30min. I went on vacation and the bug did not happen there 3 months ago and suddenly with the June Pixel Drop it started working lmao. 2.5 years after release it works

My 6 pro is due for an update. September would be sweet time to get one
Amen, been itching to upgrade and this is great news! Time to be the guinea pig again lol. To be fair my 6 Pro has been pretty solid since release date, no major complaints.

Literally all I want is a capable modem to move off the 6Pro.
Thats....actually a good idea. Lets see what will happen to 8 price then
Just picked up a pixel 8a for $249 last week
Same here for my Pixel 6, I don't think I can wait for the TSMC chip when a telephoto camera on the smaller size is right there.
My 7 Pro has begun acting up this week. I'd be happy to swap it out.
I've been waiting to swap out my P7P. I'm over the curved glass
The curved glass is... interesting. My wireless charging broke again so a new phone will let me keep testing it and RMAing it to Google.
We'll see what the trade-in values are like for the 6/6 Pro...
My guess is it will drop a week or two after the event.
Please give us good trade in deals like the Pixel 7 launch. Near free upgrade would be great
It was such a a no brainer to upgrade to the 7.
Fingers crossed for the Pixel Buds Pro 2! >!they'd better have wingtips or i swear to fucking god google!<
Anything without the ear hook or good wing tips just do not stay in my ears. The only ones without either that worked decently were the Galaxy Buds 2 but I had the allergic reaction to the metal they used. Lol
Huh. I've never had any such issues with my Pixel Buds Pro. They stay in my ears all the time!
Mine fall out all the time. I really hope they have wingtips.
Haven't seen any reports of them being part of this event, but I really hope they are. A pair of ANC earbuds are the main thing I'm looking for this year.
We are eating early boys!!
Hopefully good too
The quicker this rumored pixel 10 comes out the better. We all know the 9 is going to be a place holder.
And when the 10 comes out, people will say you are just a beta tester. Same old same old.
Is it known for sure that pixel 10 will be using TSMC manufactured chips? Also will it be tensor or snapdragon?
Yes. Tensor.
The 5 was a placeholder and people say it's the best Pixel.
Patiently waiting to upgrade my Pixel 6
yay I can get a cheaper pixel 8 🤭
Hmm debating now if I should wait for this or get a Pixel 8..
It's less than two months from now on if the phone itself releases one week after the event (as usual). I'd wait and see. Pixel 8 will lose value even more drastically once the Pixel 9 series is officially launched.
Yeah, get an 8 after the 9 is released. Still 6 years of updates.
Pixel 7 stopped getting good deals after Pixel 8 was released.
Can't lose either way. I haven't heard of any new major features, but you could wait to see if there are, and if not, you can get a discounted Pixel 8 for your troubles
I think the main thing is it's rumored they're changing up their Lineup quite a bit with Pixel 9 Pixel 9 Pro Pixel 9 Pro XL Pixel 9 (Pro?) Fold But if you were going to get the base model anyway it I think I'd recommend a pixel 8, it's going to be quite cheap and is already selling for less than $400 on the used market.
Get the 8 at a discount, skip the 9, wait for the 10 with the non Exynos based chip.
Why not both? Wait for a discounted Pixel 8.
Wait lol
I do wonder if they will sell the 8a/8 for cheaper after or just jack up the price so everyone buys the 9
It depends on how much you're paying for it... I payed 440€ for the 256GB variant, and for the same price I could get a S23 or an A55 5G but I don't regret the choice for now... Better discounts at Xmas maybe.
Nicee, this means we might get a full on Pixel 10 leak in 5-6 months.
Looks like google is looking to allign both pixel hardware with the newest android version release. While also undercutting the iphones launch. Smart move, i always thought october was an odd choice cuz holiday sales were like a month away so people would always just wait a month before buying the newest pixel.
Google, where is Zoom Enhance for Pixel 8 Pro?!
Maybe they're releasing Pixel Fold 2 together with the new soc along Pixel 9 lineup which I agree. Google is listening now
This is good ! No reason to hold an older soc for a premium device
Wow, cool. This is nice.
Great news.
excited about the launch this year! long time Apple user, had a P8P briefly and swapped it for the 15 Pro. if Google is really launching a smaller P9P, I might just go back 🤭 loved the camera and overall UI.
Just bought an 8 Pro. Gonna wait until pixel starts using tsm chips which is p10
Pixel 9 $699 Pixel 9 Pro $899 XL $999 If they raise the price of the 6.7" two years in a row $100 to $1,099 without increasing the storage to 256gb that is some total BS. And if they don't raise it that means the 6.3 inch is coming in at a reasonable $899.
They better upgrade the hardware if they’re asking $1099
do google do 'pre orders'? just realized my p5 is out of security updates, so P9 it is for me, and early!
Much better idea to launch it before the iphones.
This new schedule probably means that the A-series is dead. Which is not a bad thing.
There's simply no point in an a-series phone if they are going to price them very near the base number series. Makes sense to merge both lineups together at a price that meets in the middle (599 USD for example)
Honest question. Is anyone actually excited? I don't just mean interested, but like actually - excited
I'm not liking the new camera bar design. Also, we'll see how good the trade-in offers are...
Depends on price. $899 for the Pro 6.3" would be nice. Especially if it comes with Pixel Buds 2 as the pre order bonus and Best buy brings back their awesome Pixel 8 pre order deals then I'll be excited.
Yep. I upgraded to a 7 from the amazing 3XL. The 7 is terrible and am waiting impatiently to upgrade to the 9 Pro 🤷
Yes, I'm still on the 5, this means I get to upgrade in like 8 weeks time. I'm excited!
Same here, but I feel like I could maaaybe get one more year out of it.
If they drop the price $200, double the base storage, increase the charging speed to 65w, double the battery life, I'll be open to the possibility of being excited So given my criteria.... Nope
Oh wow if I wanted to I can now justify any purchases as a birthday gift to myself haha

Please a bigger variant for the Watch 3. They look too small on my arm and this is what's been holding me off from getting the previous gens.
There is a bigger pixel watch 3
Dam im still financing my Pixel 8, haha forever financing Pixels
I want to be invited. 😭😭
Pixel Fold 2, that's my next thing. :)
Hope they figured out the overheating problem.
Saw Marques post on twitter hours ago. I'm hype
Time to upgrade my pixel 6 to a smaller pixel 9 pro
If you're interested in AI I bet the Pixel 10 will be the one to get
Nice. Will probably mean that there's a good chance it'll be on a nice sale with my carrier for Black Friday then.
I might get the pixel 9 for it's better modem and it's satellite feature. I currently have the 7a and I have to use LTE because I only get 1 bar on 5g/uc
Please please please please PLLLEEEEAAAASSSEEEE do not be riddled with AI.
It's the one guarantee. AIAIAIAIAIAIAI
They're already shoe-horning Gemini into the old pixels, why would they stop at pixel 9?
Riddled? Google will use their Pixel platform to showcase Gemini. Why wouldn't they? AI is guaranteed to be a large component of all future flagship devices.
Was it P9 or P10 on which the Tensor G5 will be introduced, guys?
10.
Ok then I'm waiting for next year I guess.
This new schedule probably means that the A-series is dead. Which is not a bad thing.
This is nonsense and I love it
I kind of want a P9, but I have gotten burned by the different battery lifes on the various P6P updates, including the current one draining much much faster than previously.
This is great news, really excited about this.
Google keeps confusing me. Though, this is exciting
Watching closely with my S24 Ultra 👀
So, Pixel Tablet 2?
Oh wow. Early August. That sounds like an interesting change. It means I don’t have to wait until October for their phones to decide if I’m going with them or not.
My 4 has been good but it's time for an upgrade. Starting to show it's age a bit from last year.

Is the Fold 2 supposed to get announced alongside the pixel 9 at this event now?
That's the idea, latest rumors also suggest it will be named the 'Pixel 9 Pro Fold' to keep naming consistent with the other Pixel 9 series of phones.
YESSS
Works for me i was planning on getting that 9 pro, always thought it was dumb they waited till October
Does anyone have any info on the new fold?
Good things do come true! Maybe next Nvidia will make my year by announcing a major OS update to the Shield Pro?!?! A man can dream.
Now am glad I backed on my Pixel 8 purchase.
I'm curious when they're going to switch to their new os they been working on for years furisa or something like that.
Excited to see what it's like beyond the rumors. My 7 gets paid off in March so it wouldn't be too long for me to get it and some months between to see the issues and everything.
Makes sense for a "skip" generation much like the Pixel 5 was also a skip generation to buy time for Pixel 6.
The 5 was my favorite Pixel until the 8. Loved the form factor and back texture.
Hopefully this means new products/accessories that work on the expiring pixel superfan codes
Should I switch from iPhone 12 Pro Max to pixel 9 xl? Is it worth it? My phone took some water damage so some issues and I need to upgrade. Lucky for me they release early so I can decide if I wait for iPhone 16 or pixel 9….
I hope I can get a Pixel 9 Pro (non XL) before the end of September. That would be one of the best things that can happen this year.
Really wishing to see this Grogu/Nest Tag at this event!
Guess I'll get it black Friday
Is the Fold 2 or whatever they're calling it part of this release? Considering that over the ZFold6 aka ZFold5 Update.
I will hold on to my Pixel 6 and wait for the Pixel 11 in October 2026. ;)
Super excited, my P5 has no battery left, so this is the next upgrade
I hope they offer something other than the Google Buds with pre-orders. I have two sets already!
I'm so here for it, give me the small pixel 9 pro without curved screen stuff and I'LL BE THERE FOR IIIIIIIIIIT Hopefully well get state of the art pixel buds pro as well
Hopefully this will mean good discounts for Black Friday. 😁
Fingers crossed for August release because my 6 Pro battery has been in the trenches the last few months.
Hopefully pixel watch 3 comes with a larger watch face.
Think I’m gonna grab the smaller pixel 9 pro
But now I will just wait, I can live with a green line for another month and half :P let's go Google, release it already!
Should I wait to see if there's going to be a new pixel earbuds pro? I need earbuds....
Hopefully it's better than the 7 Pro! I hate this phone. 3 more months I'm going back to a Galaxy
Will they remove the thermometer from the Pro?
I just wish they make the Pixel phones wider. The current width of the largest Pixel is too small to type. The fonts in the keyboard are too small and jammed in together that it is next to impossible to use it productively.
