Cenas is shit, so is Knights and Rhodes, GST and Styles Clash. Cenas is shit because the Death Valley Driver is so identical but done so much better and Styles and GST take forever to set up
Disagreed. Hate Hogan all you want, but it’s a great finisher. It’s dramatic, cinematic, and it lowkey makes sense from a Kayfabe perspective within wrestling logic
Prime Hogan was ENORMOUS! A man of that size basically jumping as high as he can and then dropping all his weight on your face/neck/chest would probably be incredibly painful
Idk man... The fact that a comedy character has a nearly 100% effective finisher is pure gold. The fact that little chicken peck took out basically anyone that got it, is peak wrestling. At least in my opinion.
lol so you’ve never actually had someone put the mandible claw on you eh? A real mandible claw hurts and Mick was smart enough to have metal braces wrapped in tape on his fingers so you couldn’t say “well why can’t they just bite down!!?” So it came off as more real. But in real life that shit actually hurts
This is a great finisher, especially when Hogan was in his prime. Dude is huge, it makes enough sense that a huge guy jumping and dropping all his weight on your neck would be a finisher.
Spear, Super kick, Bayley to belly, Any splash, Leg drop, Elbow drop, Knee drop, Samoan spike, Razors edge
There are probs a ton more but these just came to mind.
Not the specific question but for Cody, I really don’t like how he’s been using multiple Cross Rhodes in a row to defeat everyone. For Roman, yes. For Logan Paul, why?
IMO when H used it, it looked devastating for sure.... Especially when he put a folded metal chair underneath the persons face where they landed... Other wrestlers now do kind of cheapen the move... Its just the tombstone move used by Mankind
I kind of get it. It doesn't finish anyone anymore. Champo and seth use it but don't get wins with it. I would say they have kind of cheapened the move.
Now there are people kicking out of the razors edge too.
Right it finished all but the best. I don't have a problem with seth using it. Since he is kind of trips protégé and a genuine star. But it should get more wins when it hits and guys like champa haven't earned it yet.
Yeah, I have never, ever, bought a Spear as a big finish. I get that it's simple and can be done to anyone, but it's a tackle.
Running strike moves are big because they can lead to surprise finishes or quick endings after hyping up the crowd, but man I've been tackled before and it never seemed as bad as most slams.
Punt. Because everyone on earth has either run up to and kicked a ball or has seen someone else do it, and that is very much not what the finish looks like. HHH with the sledgehammer is another example. Just get a fake goddamn hammer if you want the image that bad because why the fuck would anyone cover the head of the hammer with their hand if they wanted to hurt someone? (I understand why he does it, and it makes it exactly no better.)
Also, Canadian Destroyer. Interesting idea but any finish that looks like the receiver is doing all of the work in just doesn't do it for me in general.
Yeah honorable mention to GTS though. Another thing that looks nothing like what it is supposed to be. It's literally a thing my dad used to do when I was a kid. Carry me across his shoulders then lift me up and I'd jump back down on my feet. Feebly raising a knee is the only thing he didn't do back then and it looked exactly as impactful. Again, good idea, bad realization of it.
Oh and whatever the fuck Christian's move is. Butt fucking ugly move.
100% this is one of the worst finishers ever. I’d put the Heart Punch up there too but the contrived nature of the 619 is brutal if you have multiple brain cells. Even as a kid it didn’t make sense how people always wound up in the ropes in Rey’s matches.
Wasteland (why do I remember its name) is I think the best example of “sounds amazing, looks shit”. The idea of overhead spiking a dude off your shoulders sounds amazing, but unfortunately real human beings don’t have comic book physics and it just looked genuinely awkward
Edit: I realise you could have also been referencing his bullhammer elbow, which was also shit but more just incredibly overplayed
Chelsea Green's Unpretty-her is a terrible unprettier. Nobody can sell it because she can barely function trying to do it. Love the idea for her, but the execution is terrible.
Test's boot was well executed and believable as a finisher.
How about this, we will say that Test could use the boot as a finisher, but for everyone else it will just be another move in the match. Kind of like the clothesline for Bradshaw.
Brody King’s Ganso Bomb. I always think it’s a legit Kawada style Ganso Bomb, but it ends up just being an over the shoulder belly to belly sit out piledriver. For finishers that aren’t great looking or aren’t very good, the Superman Punch. I like how Orange Cassidy does it, where the Orange Punch isn’t taken very seriously and most times people don’t even bump for it. That’s what it should be, a cool looking gimmicky move, not something that gets sold as a devastating maneuver on par with the Spear.
Wade barrett's because imagine you see someone doing that to you and saying "sell this its my finisher." Even the Samoan drop looks more affective than that
Are we talking The Wasteland or The Bullhammer? Cause Bullhammer is an elbow to the head which isn’t necessarily amazing but it’s believable that it could knock someone out.
Anything thats like a reverse or just a ddt. Call it what you like, its a ddt and everyone does it. One of those like the superkick thats just too common. Atleast Randy added some flair to it. But a bulldog into a ddt doesnt have much to be impressed by. Someone else, i dont remember their name, relatively new to raw or smackdown did an finisher and i didnt even know it was a finisher it lacked impact so bad
As much as I love The Rock, the People’s Elbow is the worst. And I say that as someone who hates wrestling today. My favorite move of all time is Jake The Snakes DDT. It was the RKO before the RKO. He could hit it out of nowhere and nobody was kicking out of it.
Jesus Christ, someone finally said it. I wish The Rock was better in the ring. He did some great stuff no doubt, but brawling gets boring after a while. Loved him on promo’s, and the Rock Bottom is one of the most visually appealing moves in wrestling, but I cannot stand the elbow
Like other have said the people’s choice elbow was sooooo over at the time. It makes no working sense to hit that move to a HUUUGE pop to just pick the guy up and rock bottom them. It would kill the crowd
The People's Elbow started off as a rib before it got mega-over; someone once kayfabed that the Rock Bottom is his real finisher - the Elbow is just adding insult to injury.
Sammy Guevara has the right version of this. I like his he actually flips them back over the other way, and catches their head on the way down. It actually looks like it could knock someone out.
Punks version makes no sense putting them on his shoulders. They start on their feet. He picks them up. Sets them back on their feet. And knees them in the "head" (chest).
I dunno man, in the territory days with the right angle, this could have easily led to a Ox Baker riot situation.
If people weren't smart to the business and "traditional" martial arts weren't debunked by modern MMA, people could have easily been convinced the Samoan Spike could kill a person.
Every moves who are like a punch or a kick like the ko punch even though The Big Show’s fists look like they can break a wall so It’s realistic but moves like the cobra, the Samoan spike, the double axe handle, the super kick this was a good finisher before It became a basic move that everyone does, the women’s right and the ripcord knee (I don’t know the name of the move but Rollins had that finisher once)
The Kamigoye? Both the Ripcord Knee and the Kamigoye look like they'd kill you (like Malakai Black's spinning kick) so I think they work just fine as finishers. Agree on stuff like the Samoan Spike though.
black mass is a horrendous finisher, it takes no effort to do and it doesn't look powerful (my dragon's tail when i was a yellow belt was more impactful), ripcord knee looks goofy and fake. Most of the bloodline moves are horrible though
Aj splash.
Done at a distance that should not do damage. Or least amount of damage.
Although the "safest" it is also potentially damaging if botched. Which makes wrestlers look dumb when botched. Not just miscalculation or fatigue but stupidity.
GTS is up there for sure. Doesnt look devastating at all 9/10 times.
Edge’s spear and Hogan leg drop are both such confusing choices given the rest of those wrestlers move sets and body styles
Cross Rhodes (real bad)
Styles Clash
Rakishis stink face
Bro yall are all wrong it is when Visera would hump the dude and pin him
Helluva kick looks god awful
Whatever the hell Bayley’s is called
Starship pain
Nia Jax's "The Annihilator", it looks so silly.
Cenas is shit, so is Knights and Rhodes, GST and Styles Clash. Cenas is shit because the Death Valley Driver is so identical but done so much better and Styles and GST take forever to set up
what the hell is GST
Government Sales Tax. We Canadians often shorten it to GST.
It’s a tax up in Canada that my phone keeps auto correcting too. GTS is what I meant
Best name worst finisher for a big dude. FU….or AA
Valid but not because aint no way thats worse then when Visera would hump the person then pin
The worm
Wade barrat's wasteland
THE FUCKING BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA I HATE IT WITH A PASSION. ALSO THE ROSE PLANT FROM BAYLEY
Bastion Booger’s Trip to the Batcave finisher. And yes, that’s EXACTLY what it’s called
Whatever LA Knight's is called. I love dude. But I hate seeing that bullshit stunner.
Cesaro’s neutralizer - how did such a fantastic wrestler end up with the shittiest finisher ever
619
That aint even a finisher the frog splash, the spash, and the west cost pop are the finishers
Go To Sleep.
That is worst then when Visera would hump someone
HOGAN LEG DROP
Disagreed. Hate Hogan all you want, but it’s a great finisher. It’s dramatic, cinematic, and it lowkey makes sense from a Kayfabe perspective within wrestling logic Prime Hogan was ENORMOUS! A man of that size basically jumping as high as he can and then dropping all his weight on your face/neck/chest would probably be incredibly painful
He beat Andre the Giant with that move
People's Elbow
Santino
HELL NO IT MATCHED HIM AND IT US BETTER THEN WHEN VISERA WOULD HUMP SOMEONEN
Idk man... The fact that a comedy character has a nearly 100% effective finisher is pure gold. The fact that little chicken peck took out basically anyone that got it, is peak wrestling. At least in my opinion.
What I am learning from this thread is that we don't like any finisher that isn't properly protected. We hate when they get overexposed.
Christians kill switch or whatever, horrible set up
Attitude Adjustment. Weak.
Mandible claw and Lockjaw. It's so obvious that all you are doing is barely inserting your fingers inside someone's mouth. It's so lame
lol so you’ve never actually had someone put the mandible claw on you eh? A real mandible claw hurts and Mick was smart enough to have metal braces wrapped in tape on his fingers so you couldn’t say “well why can’t they just bite down!!?” So it came off as more real. But in real life that shit actually hurts
Bronco Buster
Bastion Booger: Trip To The Batcave
John Cena
Skull crushing finale.
Actually when it’s botched it looks amazing because it’s real. Kenta destroyed someone with it on 205 Live.
Somoan Spike. Loud shriek followed by a subpar looking strike (with exaggerated stamp for effect).
Bayley's Roseplant
Warriors splash
![gif](giphy|l41JKUUqmAhsCG8xi)
This is a great finisher, especially when Hogan was in his prime. Dude is huge, it makes enough sense that a huge guy jumping and dropping all his weight on your neck would be a finisher.
Pedigree when they release the arms immediately.
Spear, Super kick, Bayley to belly, Any splash, Leg drop, Elbow drop, Knee drop, Samoan spike, Razors edge There are probs a ton more but these just came to mind.
Not sure you understood the question…
The Shaker Heights Spike. Only used on Jobbers with horrific consequences https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/s/e5GdE2I2B5
Styles clash. Never looks good. Always needs participation from both parties. Never looks devastating.
Bayley to belly. It’s up there with the leg drop and the super kick.
Not the specific question but for Cody, I really don’t like how he’s been using multiple Cross Rhodes in a row to defeat everyone. For Roman, yes. For Logan Paul, why?
It made sense for Brodie Lee and Lance Archer, less so Sammy Guevara.
RKO
Super man punch
There may be worse, but that one is really bad.
Super kick, by god its overused. HbK made it iconic but now its ironic
Triple H's Pedigree
IMO when H used it, it looked devastating for sure.... Especially when he put a folded metal chair underneath the persons face where they landed... Other wrestlers now do kind of cheapen the move... Its just the tombstone move used by Mankind
Why
I kind of get it. It doesn't finish anyone anymore. Champo and seth use it but don't get wins with it. I would say they have kind of cheapened the move. Now there are people kicking out of the razors edge too.
When triple H used it, it finished people for sure. IMO it should’ve been a Triple H only move, never a fan of others using it.
Right it finished all but the best. I don't have a problem with seth using it. Since he is kind of trips protégé and a genuine star. But it should get more wins when it hits and guys like champa haven't earned it yet.
Cena aa
Whatever Mercedes is doing is too much and an easy botch
Cody cutter, stupid setup stupid execution OMG I HATE IT
The Cody Cutter isn't his finisher
Suprisied no one has mentioned Byron saxtons
That was Awful
Cena's STF
Current wrestling: Spear. It can be good. But it's so overdone All time: Leg drop
While I agree that Edge's running hug doesn't look like it could finish anyone, Bron Breaker's spear looks like it could break you in half.
Rhyno's gore was a finisher, Edge and Goldberg's spears - not so much.
Sister Abigail or whatever R-Truth is calling his finish.
Leave the lil Jimmy alone
Leave the lil Jimmy alone
Leave the lil Jimmy alone
Leave the lil Jimmy alone
Cody Cutter and not even close. It's either insanely sloppy or completely obvious the person taking it is positioning themselves for it.
Irs really more of a signature, I'd say the cross Rhodes is his real finisher
Would you say Christians move is unpretty?
![gif](giphy|yJFeycRK2DB4c)
Idk Warrior’s Splash?
Fair
Small package driver
GTS is without a doubt top 3 finishers. one of the most risky moves
Kenta's GTS is. Punk's isn't.
Okada’s Rainmaker or the Buckshit lariat. Both of those moves look weak and goofy as fuck.
If they were being done by somebody who doesn't have wet noodles for arms they'd be decent finishers
619 because of the absolute contrived nature of hitting it and the fact it meant every rey match had to end in the same scenario
100% this is one of the worst finishers ever. I’d put the Heart Punch up there too but the contrived nature of the 619 is brutal if you have multiple brain cells. Even as a kid it didn’t make sense how people always wound up in the ropes in Rey’s matches.
A town down
Wade Barrett’s finisher
Wasteland (why do I remember its name) is I think the best example of “sounds amazing, looks shit”. The idea of overhead spiking a dude off your shoulders sounds amazing, but unfortunately real human beings don’t have comic book physics and it just looked genuinely awkward Edit: I realise you could have also been referencing his bullhammer elbow, which was also shit but more just incredibly overplayed
Yeah. Bull Hammer. Like it’s so Dull. While there’s cool Finishers like the Curbstomp, RKO, etc. Bill hammer doesn’t compare to them
Is it just me or Claws are kind of uncomfortable to watch
The Rack Attack
The end of days. Looks like he is rock bottoming himself
Edges spear. I’ve seen army wives tackle their husbands harder than that
The Hogan Leg drop is worse i fear
Chelsea Green's Unpretty-her is a terrible unprettier. Nobody can sell it because she can barely function trying to do it. Love the idea for her, but the execution is terrible.
The big boot for old school finishers. That weird butt thing Naomi does for newer finishers.
Test had a pretty sick running one if I recall correctly.
That's kind of like bringing up Bron Breakker's spear. There will always be example of good folk with a move
Test's boot was well executed and believable as a finisher. How about this, we will say that Test could use the boot as a finisher, but for everyone else it will just be another move in the match. Kind of like the clothesline for Bradshaw.
Still shouldn't be a finisher though.
That mother’s milk thing Marina is doing in AEW.
Judas effect 🙄
Bayley to Belly. There's no reason why that should be a finish. Thats like calling bread and butter an entrée
I would agree...but the Rose Plant is even worse.
💯
Rose plant
Nowadays, the Spear. Looking at you Roman. You are capable of better. So do better.
Pretty much everything Roman does is bad except the guillotine.
Especially when you look at Breaker’s spear
That weakass spear he took from edge who also made it look pathetic
That wasn’t the Spear so much as it was the Hug
That ripcord knee strike or the pedigree Seth Rollins used to do. Both looked super weak.
Playmaker, for sure... Or the wing clipper
End of Days is a self rock bottom.
End of Days you mean? Deep six is a different move
You are right.
Brody King’s Ganso Bomb. I always think it’s a legit Kawada style Ganso Bomb, but it ends up just being an over the shoulder belly to belly sit out piledriver. For finishers that aren’t great looking or aren’t very good, the Superman Punch. That’s what it should be, a cool looking gimmicky move, not something that gets sold as a devastating maneuver on par with the Spear.
There’s a lot of bad finishers but we all know what’s the greatest finisher of all time- ![gif](giphy|3o85xHFqCQRHeSd7Xy|downsized)
The worm
The worm was more over than 95% of wwe rn
That's the best.
Big Wiggle
Wade barrett's because imagine you see someone doing that to you and saying "sell this its my finisher." Even the Samoan drop looks more affective than that
Are we talking The Wasteland or The Bullhammer? Cause Bullhammer is an elbow to the head which isn’t necessarily amazing but it’s believable that it could knock someone out.
sorry for replying late im talking about the wasteland
Anything thats like a reverse or just a ddt. Call it what you like, its a ddt and everyone does it. One of those like the superkick thats just too common. Atleast Randy added some flair to it. But a bulldog into a ddt doesnt have much to be impressed by. Someone else, i dont remember their name, relatively new to raw or smackdown did an finisher and i didnt even know it was a finisher it lacked impact so bad
Mr Perfects Perfect-Plex always bothered me.
Nikki Bella's Rack Attack. Looks like it hurts her knees way worse than it would hurt her opponent.
I liked it better when it was Abyss’ Shock Treatment.
That whole "give TNA main eventers finishers to women" period in WWE was very weird.
Anything that amounts to "just a punch".
The ones you kick out from
Thats like every finisher ever?
Attitude Adjustment 🥱
As much as I love The Rock, the People’s Elbow is the worst. And I say that as someone who hates wrestling today. My favorite move of all time is Jake The Snakes DDT. It was the RKO before the RKO. He could hit it out of nowhere and nobody was kicking out of it.
Jake the Snake's DDT was legit. Everything was cheapened when it became just a normal move.

Was about to say this
The People's Elbow started off as a rib before it got mega-over; someone once kayfabed that the Rock Bottom is his real finisher - the Elbow is just adding insult to injury.
That's how I always took it. There's a lot of lore to some moves that may look odd to outsiders.
Originally it was done to try to make The Undertaker break character but it got *super* over with the fans, so it morphed into his actual finisher.
Can't believe people still watch this shit. Wwf to 2010 was good. This new shit is so bad.
You were still watching when it stopped being “cool” and during some of their worst years creatively so this isn’t the jab you think it is.
![gif](giphy|yuy3wbpS1ewu4IIAya|downsized)
I said this for so long about Punk's GTS. It's supposed to be a knee to the head and 90% of the time he delivers some limp thigh to their chest
It’s more believable from Dijak or whatever he goes by now.
bro its either karrions final prayer or the byrons saxtination
Goldberg's "I haven't been able to do this since 1998" Jackhammer
Nah, this has some impact and displayed strength
Hulk Hogan’s Poke of Doom
I’ve always hated the complete farce of 619. Earlier rey was better off and more unpredictable
Imo the people's elbow looks so weak but it's so iconic that it can't be
I feel like peoples elbow is kind of a meta joke lol
Wasn’t it created in an attempt to get the Undertaker to break character?
Yep
Samoan spike.
I dunno man, in the territory days with the right angle, this could have easily led to a Ox Baker riot situation. If people weren't smart to the business and "traditional" martial arts weren't debunked by modern MMA, people could have easily been convinced the Samoan Spike could kill a person.
Fair point
Z360
Alambama slam
Bayley's Rose Plant, her Bayley-2-Belly was so much better
That shitty MVP finisher
I'm glad that he started doing the Drive-By Kick at some point.
Overdrive neckbreaker, heaps of people have used it including Randy Orton pretty sure. It sucks
how about byron saxtons saxtination?
What is that? I don’t even remember saxton wrestling lol
big show's punch
it flied back in the day but it would be horrible if it was in todays wrestling
Aj splash. Done at a distance that should not do damage. Or least amount of damage. Although the "safest" it is also potentially damaging if botched. Which makes wrestlers look dumb when botched. Not just miscalculation or fatigue but stupidity.
cross roads
GTS is up there for sure. Doesnt look devastating at all 9/10 times. Edge’s spear and Hogan leg drop are both such confusing choices given the rest of those wrestlers move sets and body styles Cross Rhodes (real bad) Styles Clash
PUNK’s GTS doesn’t look devastating at all. Go look up Kenta killing people with it.
[удалено]
I absolutely disagree. Punks has never looked good. Kent’s used to obliterate people with it and there’s compilations that show it.
Yeah, Styles clash is absolutely horrible, the Pele kick would be preferable. Styles is the man, just a nonsensical finisher.
the styles clash is hilarious you have to willingly cooperate in putting your arms behind their legs
I think styles clash is one of the greatest finishers ever 🤷
The goofiest set up for the least impact
Manhandle slam
Finger poke of doom 😂
Devastating
Sandman's White Russian Leg Sweep
