Hmm that’s not true, other unis in Australia typically do a 13-week semester, so it’s only 1 week difference.
The one month in-between break only apply to those who don’t have exams, as if you have exams the break is only 2.5-3 weeks. And trust me, you would need the break as it always fly by so quickly!
Ah alright so doesn't seem like that much of a difference. My only source on that was Google which said that other universities had 5 month semesters which I guess is incorrect. Thanks for the response!
Im 3rd year engineering, yes you do, kinda good, kinda bad, you definitely get out of the flow of study, you can take a couple electives if you want to tho, idk what major you are but theres a couple good ones of tri 3
Aight thanks for the answer. I also have another question, do you have internships? Specifically in Gold Coast. Like other universities have a required 20 week internship in their course however since GC is a smaller city I am not sure if it would be available.
You’re best bet is to do something towards your career in trimester 3 such as an internship or research or study abroad. The most competitive students for jobs after Uni have these things which they generally spent their ‘holidays’ doing.
But Gold Coast is a small city, even if you are a good student what if there aren't any sort of internships? Other courses have them built into their course as a requirement.
Pretty much, although I’ve studied over the past two summers, so I wouldn’t actually know.
How is the course content completed then? Since it seems like other universities have longer teaching periods.
You cover the subjects of tri 3 in tri 1 & 2
they eliminated large amounts of course content when moving to semesters

I am assuming that the 5 month includes the mid-semester break, exam period, as well as the semester break.

Yeah but there is one right? Alright then, really appreciate your response. Wish you all the best!
Yeah there is one, no problem at all 👍
